That's incredibly unfortunate. I very recently came to Christ as an adult and I've really enjoyed Michael Brown's work. I really hope he is found to have done nothing wrong, but it doesn't appear that it will go in that direction.
I certainly understand. Doesn’t nullify the work he has done. God uses us even in extremely broken mess for His Glory not hours. As do you, I pray all find comfort and healing in Jesus.
When things started popping earlier this year and decade, it was crushingly depressing. Mike Bickle, Robert Morris, Tony Evan’s, and various Dallas area megachurch leaders. Now it’s Michael Brown. Maybe God is turning over leadership in the American Church. Time for a church structure that actually resembles the first century church instead of a secular American business. And Paul, Timothy, Titus style leadership, going forward.
It doesn’t just happen in charismatic churches. It also happens in small Baptist churches too. Pastors protect the givers. Even at the expense of the sheep, getting hurt. And this is “God’s will” God help us 🙏🏻 And we wonder why no one wants to hear about the gospel. If you equate the gospel with the church. That’s bad news . The gospel is the good news. And the church needs the gospel.
Simply put if we keep giving people grace mercy compassion love and forgiveness for their behavior this will continue. Proverb 17:13 Evil will never leave the house of one who pays back evil for good. People entertain this kind of behavior because they think they are not going to be caught or exposed. After getting caught or exposed people are so quick to want to forgive and let things go. Until it publicly exposed now something must be done about it. Proverb 10:9 Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out. These people do not fear consequences until caught exposed and their position it taken away from them.
17:59 It’s also sad that the American Church is so compromised that it can’t expect leaders to be Biblically qualified or to follow even the societal norms regarding sexual abuse and harassment. In the military, I had plenty of one-on-one counseling. Same in the civilian world. I also frequently encounter church members alone. It’s dangerous to use a rule to never be alone with anyone. If you don’t have reason to believe the Holy Spirit is guiding this person, rules won’t prevent abuse.
It’s to the point I definitely don’t celebrate or get excited to hear these stories. It takes so much work to platform spiritual voices. We are a body of believers and anyone overtaken in fault impacts us all.
It’s crazy that MB has been brushing off the fact that he was seen with a young girl in his lap. He says it was just a father and daughter moment but nobody can deny that his behavior is actually sexual. He was lusting after this girl and cheating on his wife. Any attempt to minimize this is a lie to himself and the church. If he doesn’t own up to it, there’s no real repentance.
This plays into altar calls too for churches that practice that. I’ve served at churches that say men pray with men and women with women. But what about same sex attraction, because ppl definitely go to the altar wanting “hands laid on them”…🤷🏽♂️
Y'all should talk about Michael Brown gaslighting everyone to believe weird people weren't being weird. And come to find out he's weird and dangerous himself
lol. Uncomfortable, criticizing, AND very overbearing. All this from 2 second interaction? Please. There would not have been an episode of that was the case. lol. I’ll let Lesa answer for herself on this one.
I actually thought he was telling me good job on the reading…lol! I think you are looking a little too deep. If I was uncomfortable it would have been all over the episode because I am not one that can’t hide my expressions too well. Lesa

Anyone calling themselves Pastor is grifting. Jesus commanded against such titles among the brethren. Matthew 23 8-12
Or just connect all the false doctrine these people preach .

Absolutely. 💯

23:12 Remember this wasn’t a church. It was a business. This woman was a Fire School employee, and Brown was her boss.
💯

Yeah. Unfortunate
I'm not sure of his guilt or innocence regarding this event. I know he very much enables heretics such as Hinn, Copeland, et al.
True
Which is very problematic in itself besides any possible abuse.
That point about with same gender attraction has completely changed the game, not being alone with the same gender, I never thought of that, 🤔

It’s a crazy time.

As things unfold this will be a topic of conversation.
You made your cohost visibly uncomfortable by criticizing her out of the gate. You seemed very overbearing.
