Don't worry, no stupid questions in this hobby. Unfortunately protein skimmers do not work Freshwater situations just due to the difference in water chemistry between fresh water and saltwater, mostly due to surface tension. Common methods of waste removal for freshwater tanks are going to be your mechanical and biological filtration and in larger situations you can use wet/dry filters. My personal favorite option is using live plants! -Steven
Marine Depot Aquarium Supplies thanks for the detailed explanation.. I actually bought a sump/refugium from you guys just to be able to have live plants down below.... stupid Oscars just tear em up in the main tank. 🙂
I would have been more interested in a deep-dive into the physics and history of protein skimmers. This is just silly and barely more than an extended commercial. More educational, less cheeseball, please.
@@BulkReefSupply good luck on this series, it wasnt childish enough to be funny. My input is if you're going for story book telling... voice needs to try harder lol
The animation is definitely the way to go with your competitors. But the voice is like listening to that person you just cant stand,
Thanks for watching and for the feedback!
Very helpful thanks !
Super Toilet to the rescue!
Very informative..👍
thanks fin
Now I know. 👍
Possibly stupid question, but is a protein skimmer only for saltwater tanks? Will they help freshwater as well?

Question? Should I be doing water changes while my tank is cycling?
No

Way way over the top with the voices mate, just the explanation would have sufficed
Other than that informative!!
What is a protein skimmer?
It's not the same with out Robert. At least animate him and use his voice. This voiceover just seemed cheesey.
The voice was a little too much but great otherwise
Thanks for the input! This is a brand new series that we are trying out so we are open to hearing any improvements you think we can make!
