Charles, your comment on "observation, observation" in the recent Fishing film on the Test was great to hear. So important and so often disregarded by many on this format. Cheers from Australia.
I was fortunate enough to meet Mr. Jardine in the Bahamas once years ago. He was generous with his time giving me and others casting tips. It was obvious he enjoyed meeting others, talking and getting to know one other. It was a wonderful experience talking with him. This video is a perfect representation of his love of water and the fish that swim in it, especially feeling the tug on the end of the line. Thx.

Mr. Peter, my comrade have decreased and the trouts nice after bad training💥, and our Minister won't go far with it. Wish goodluck to your Project! (SARATOV)
@@Adelhaid100 Thank you for your kind message, if you are Russian or drunk, may I recommend you try an English phrasebook or online course, cheers and good fishing Ade100!!.
Hi Charles, great to see you looking so well. Unfortunately I will miss you next week in Roger’s place, my brother decided to get married on the very day of the trip, and absolutely refused to move it! Some people just don’t understand what’s important in life! Tight lines! And God bless
Brilliant Charles, great presentation. However, I’m aghast, brilliant water colourist that you are I could not believe it when I saw you with an Aquafine rigger brush. I would have expected only finest kolonsky sable to grace your hand. ;)
Nice video. Peaceful, just as fishing should be. I should really follow the advice of using smaller flies first. Im so excited when I get to the river that I tie the best looking streamer in my box and hammer the seams mindlessly.

Excellent video as usual from ‘The Maestro of fly fishing’! Please could you let me know the make of the cap clip on magnifying glasses Charles is using right at the end of the video and if possible where I may purchase them? Thank you Graham
I bought one from madriveroutfitters in usa paid the couple dollars extra tax p&p. With any luck the USA and UK will do a trade deal and we can then buy their stuff and sell them our superb british fishing products without tariffs and export taxes.
Excellent video. I also very much enjoy fishing spiders especially when exploring new waters but I miss most (like 90%) of the takes I would be very grateful for your advice on how to strike.
Firstly Liam my huge apologies for not getting back to you sooner…. The simple reason I do seldom stray on to TH-cam! …now then…missed takes when fishing spiders…I was precisely the same as you …maybe not 90%, but certainly 75%…until….. until I spent a day with Paul Proctor …who is not a majestic with a dry fly but wonderfully adept with wet flies. The thing i was getting so badly wrong was my fly rod angle. I just kept it too flippin low the whole time …Paul urged that I keep at as high as possible during the entirety of the cast/fishing swing and look to the bow/drape of the fly line for takes…. The Line will just lift or pull straight before you feel anything . Keep the line straight from the rod tip and keep the rod low during the entirety of the fishing process and you will feel those annoying sudden tugs and momentary snatches…then nothing. This year more than any I have been fishing wet flies as upstream emerger - a tactic that I am lead to believe, was the original concept of the style…. My goodness it has worked. As we enter September this is an another golden period to try the style. If you contact Sportfish Liam and you are close to me I will happily take you out for a few hours and show you. Hope that this helps …and once again my apologies for the tardy response.
It is …but when fish a team of Wet flies/spiders if you balance the leader with the heavier fly on the point (be that weight , bead or hook size) you can easily negate most tangles…also you are tending to fish at very close range….it is about economy and water coverage…NOT distance. But yes…to start one fly is advisable.
A great ambassador to the sport off fly fishing...never had the privilege of meeting the man.but maybe one day.
One of the very best anglers and one of life's better people. 👍

Great to see a Jardine in a fishing video. Must be in the genes.
I look forward to his advice. Across and down spider fishing is very relaxing and great fun but very frustrating as most takes I miss
As a novice fly angler, this is gold-dust! Thanks.

charlie jardi likes to party!
New to fly fishing? Don’t fish more than one fly! You will lose three at a time, and tangle terribly, and snag fish, or yourself.
Good advice @canadiangemstones7636 - thank you!

I'm still waiting for a response. Disappointing after being promised a reply 2 months ago
Hi Liam, apologies for the delay. We've dropped Charles a line and will come back to you asap.
