    When I first started making these, it would take me about 45 minutes, but now I can usually make one in 20 minutes. Once you get the hang of it, it's actually a pretty quick process because it's so repetitive. Thanks for watching!

    all of the colors u chose look really similar. could u probably choose colors that are significantly different from each other and can easily tell apart the next tutorial? just a suggestion!

  • @simpleDIYs
    @simpleDIYs  11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Glad you like it! I used 6 strands folded in half for the chevron bracelet (so the bracelet is 12 knots wide).

  • @simpleDIYs

    You can find embroidery floss at most craft stores. It's also available online.

    I've made friendship bracelets before, mainly the leaf. But I've never come up with a comfortable way to hold the strings. I like your method best: holding the straight string with your left hand, thumb up and wrap string in your right hand. That is smooth and i like having a "method". It is very efficient.
    I'm teaching my 13 yr. old and using your method. Thanks!

  • @simpleDIYs
    @simpleDIYs  11 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I think that it's possible to use yarn. The bracelet will probably be much thicker, but that should work.

  • @simpleDIYs
    @simpleDIYs  11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Of course!

  • @simpleDIYs
    @simpleDIYs  11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    No problem! (I've accidentally done that as well & I just tied the "short bracelet" off and used it as a key chain instead. Just a tip!)

  • @simpleDIYs
    @simpleDIYs  11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    In your example, when you're tying a knot with the blue string, make sure to hold the red string straight the entire time. Form a four shape over the red & then bring the blue string through the opening and tighten it all the way up the red string (while keeping the red string straight). Hope that made sense.

  • @simpleDIYs

    That depends on how many strands you use. I can usually do a 6 strand bracelet in about 15 minutes.

  • @simpleDIYs
    @simpleDIYs  11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The number of strands you use will determine how wide the bracelet is. You can use any number of strands (minimum of 2).

      Alex Antonick yes that’s what I was thinking

  • @simpleDIYs
    @simpleDIYs  11 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Hmm... I tried to be as thorough as possible in the video. Specific questions, I can answer. For instance, the strands have to be that a certain length in order to make a bracelet that is long enough. Each knot eats up a tiny bit of string so if you have a lot of knots like in this bracelet, you need pretty long strands. The # of strands to use is personal preference. Wider bracelets require more strands. Thinner bracelets = fewer strands. Most of this is explained beneath the video.

    Sometimes, when I tighten the string, the opposite colour to what the stripe is shows. For example if I am doing a blue line, when i tighten the blue and red string, it will show a red square. What am I doing wrong? I seem to be doing to knot right too...
