I feel like the violinist was a bit too loud during the bass solo. Other than that, great solos and great performance!

Quite right. Unfortunately, many players forget that comping for a bass solo means playing VERY soft and light in the first place. Anway, the soloist always should be standing out acoustically. If you can not hear every note/detail, you‘re probably too loud already..

@@shlomogorgonzola2689 @Olam I agree. From what I heard, the violin is louder especially during the bass solo but I still enjoyed the music, and to me, that's the most important. My 2 cents, however: The violinist had a little to no control over the mix (the one we are hearing). Perhaps on the monitors, the musicians were hearing different levels per instrument. In case that the violinist really wanted to lower his volume (which, by the way, what he clearly did), he could only do so much because if he decreases the amount of bow pressure on the strings too much, it may not sound very good. In this scenario, a volume pedal might be useful. 😉
