Boy this brings back memories! I'm 60 yo, and all my growing up years mama had the same Speed Queen washer. I recall a repair man coming out for that machine maybe once, you just couldn't kill that thing. Same with our Hot Point stove and GE "ice box", we called it, lol. She never wanted a dryer because she loved hanging the wash on the clothes line. Only after we were grown and she got older and disabled did she finally allow daddy to put one in. ❤RIP mama, we miss you so much. We lost our washer and dryer along with 1/2 of all of our possessions in a flood in 2023. We have not been able to replace them. I would give anything to have a washer and dryer again. You are blessed...be happy

I loved that car, but in 1977 I married my wife , started remodling a house and needed a truck. I sold my car and bought a truck that is long since worn out and gone. I still have my wife though ! 1955 model with all orriginal parts. I think I'm keeping her. 😂
We bought speed queen washer and dryer about 7 years ago. I love them! As for the ground pork, here in Missouri they make pork burgers, season and make them pretty thin, like a sausage patty, and grill them. A lot of places sell them on the weekends, in the parking lots.
We just got a SpeedQueen a couple of years ago on my sister's reccommendation. We both like them. They have a very good reputation and make the washers and dryers that are used in laundromats b/c they are sturdy and longlasting. The ones you got are just like mine. When I got married, we were gifted a coin operated dryer from some apartments that were replacing theirs. We had to remove the box and keep the quarter handy to use in starting it. I miss that old dryer and the memories that came with it!
Sorry about the washing machine and Dryer. My mom has them from the 1970s. They still work. I still have my first TV. 1972 zenith TV. It still works. We don't have cable anymore though and that's the only way I knew for sure it worked was plug the cable into the back of it. So it worked as of 2 years ago when we last had cable. My wife and I watch all of you girls videos and you're moms as well and Paul on the BPATA. We are happy that you are releasing them at same time as Tipper does. This video reminded me of when my wife and I were young and first married, how buying a washer and dryer set was such a big thing for us. It was nice seeing the two of you driving in Blairsville, eating at Longhorns and shopping the stores I see daily. This was a neat video. I get up to Murphy at least once a month to go to my bank and over to Brasstown twice a month for different reasons. We live so close in these mountains sometimes it's hard to tell where one state starts and the other ends. Watching your adventures is heartwarming and I do enjoy the videos that your family provides us as a needed diversion each day.

I am a 68 year old lady whose 96 year old father is dying in icu. Less than an hour ago he told his doctor that, “It’s time to wrap it up.” There is no hope for him to recover and it’s unbearable to see him in such poor condition. My heart is broken for all the common reasons that everyone experiences when death is at a loved one’s door. What will our world be like without him? But mostly, we are all thankful for the wonderful dad that he was. God gave us one of the best. He will be with Jesus in a very short time, and for that we are overjoyed. Dad’s name is Bill Burke. Ps. We still have our 99 year old mother. 😊
I am 63 and I miss my old Kenmore washer. I have a new Amana bought in 2017 and once you start washer you can't lift the lid back up it's locked. Good luck
Speed queen is the best. I had a Maytag a few years ago and it gave nothing but problems. Whirlpool makes Maytag now these days. You won’t be disappointed in speed queen

There are many recipes online. We have no chain restaurants up here. The nearest is about 20 minutes from your cousin's house, where there is a 99 Restaurant. That may be a Northeastern chain, only. When family members give us a gift card, it usually is to that location. It's not my favorite, but it's all we've got. Like you, I like eating at home, especially when we have the time to cook on the woodstove. Best to you and the family!

I cried when i had to get rid of my kenmore set we got when we got married. 30 yrs. They were awesome and huge! Had to pay double for new ones that don't work as well and all the electronics on it 😢. I wish everything was made like the older stuff. Sure lasted longer.
My husband got behind me one day at a stop light and had a key fob for my car that he kept unlocking and locking my door. It took me a while to realize what he was doing but we had a good laugh. Longhorn’s brussel sprouts are awesome! I love the simple settings on your new washer and dryer.
Hi Corie and Austin, We had a 1973 Ford truck my husband and I bought brand new. We lost her in hurricane Helene. She was under the boat shed and huge pines trees fell across the shed and all was lost. Her name was Betsy and oh how we miss her! She just celebrated her fifth birthday. Sounds funny that we named her and everything but she was our yard debris truck for hauling. Now we don't have a two acre yard because of storm. But, we are survivors!!! So glad you had a date day!!!!!

For other visits to Aldi, if you don't have a quarter go to the register and tell the cashier. They loan you 1. 😀 I always keep mine in the console but lose them sometime because I pass the buggy to someone coming in, pass the blessing on. And I always have my wares bags in the backseat.

I have a speed queen washer and dryer. Had the option of buying fancy bells and whistles front loader washer but it seemed too complicated. I chose a simple speed queen top loader washer and dryer. I love them!
I thought my poor Aunt Joyce was going to hyperventilate when her Lady Kenmore died. I think she had it over 35 years. She still speaks of her fondly. They just don’t make appliances or cars like they used to. Everything is just throw away it seems. A good recipe with ground pork is the PF Chang lettuce wraps. There are recipes online and they are nice for something different. I am glad y’all got a little time as a couple. I know it feels strange, but just a little time away is really good for the whole family. Besides the babysitter is “ almost” his mom too.🤣. Hugs to all.
My suggestion Speed-queen D5. I just bought one. It is like the old style. They cost (the pair) cost more than other top load agitators-other brand I mean. We had our last set 14 years. Didn’t clean well. So I love having the new one. Do research see what you think. The new ones can last 25 years. A good choice.

Hey Corrie! I heard Becky over at Acre Homestead had real good sayins about her agitator washer. It’s a commercial model one. She said it cleans like the old ones. Much better than a front loader. We have the Speed Queen you were looking at without the lid lock. I love it. I don't have the matching dryer but I rarely use it anyway. I prefer my solar dryer, AKA the clothesline!😊

We have Speed Queen Washer and dryer . The exact same ones. Be aware that they take HE laundry soap and just a small 2 Tablespoons which was new to us from our old machines. The washer spins so hard that with our machine we began to add 1/2 cup of vinegar to the wash to limit the suds which would overflow from the hose and outtake pipe. Take Care! Many happy laundry days!
Hi Corey, I know what you mean about wanting an old fashioned washer! Walmart sells the Kenmore with old fashion agitator. Its non-tech too, so thats great. Kenmore is a very reliable brand, been around for years. Cost $598. Hope this helps.

We've got a Speed Queen! Clothes come out cleaner and the dryer seems to dry quicker and better than our old electronic Samsungs we had. You'll love 'em!

We bought our Speed Queen washer 7 years ago, had it a few months then loaded it up and moved it 440 miles. It has never given me a minute of trouble.
I literally bought all the same stuff at Aldi today 🤣 that double smoked cheddar is DELICIOUS, definitely try it when you go back!

I thought my poor Aunt Joyce was going to hyperventilate when her Lady Kenmore died. I think she had it over 35 years. She still speaks of her fondly. They just don’t make appliances or cars like they used to. Everything is just throw away it seems. A good recipe with ground pork is the PF Chang lettuce wraps. There are recipes online and they are nice for something different. I am glad y’all got a little time as a couple. I know it feels strange, but just a little time away is really good for the whole family. Besides the babysitter is “ almost” his mom too.🤣. Hugs to all.
My suggestion Speed-queen D5. I just bought one. It is like the old style. They cost (the pair) cost more than other top load agitators-other brand I mean.
We had our last set 14 years. Didn’t clean well.
So I love having the new one. Do research see what you think. The new ones can last 25 years.

Hey Corrie! I heard Becky over at Acre Homestead had real good sayins about her agitator washer. It’s a commercial model one. She said it cleans like the old ones. Much better than a front loader. She talked about it on her video about “I’ve waited years to do this “, or something like that in the title
We have the Speed Queen you were looking at without the lid lock. I love it. I don't have the matching dryer but I rarely use it anyway. I prefer my solar dryer, AKA the clothesline!😊

Thanks for taking us on your shopping spree. 😂 I wish I had known you needed a washer and dryer, I have my old ones I don’t use anymore. If you decide you want them, “free”, I’m in Ocoee, Tn, an hour-ish from you. It was great to see sweet Olive.
We have Speed Queen Washer and dryer . The exact same ones. Be aware that they take HE laundry soap and just a small 2 Tablespoons which was new to us from our old machines. The washer spins so hard that with our machine we began to add 1/2 cup of vinegar to the wash to limit the suds which would overflow from the hose and outtake pipe. Take Care! Many happy laundry days!
Maybe try using less soap? Perhaps only 1 TBS? Vinegar will wear out the rubber gaskets.
I love front loading washing machines especially for very large blankets
Hi Corey, I know what you mean about wanting an old fashioned washer! Walmart sells the Kenmore with old fashion agitator. Its non-tech too, so thats great. Kenmore is a very reliable brand, been around for years. Cost $598. Hope this helps.
I bought a Speed Queen washer and dryer a couple of years ago. Best washer and dryer I ever had! And I’ve had many! They are worth the extra money in my opinion.
I bought a set around 15 ish years ago and have never had one issue! I love my SQ set!
We've got a Speed Queen! Clothes come out cleaner and the dryer seems to dry quicker and better than our old electronic Samsungs we had. You'll love 'em!
My wife and I search for old sets late 90s to early 2000's are the best and you can still get replacement parts for the most part. Until we can afford a speed queen.
