    A bit of background about this. Back in the mid to late 1980s, the English Shakespeare Company toured the world presenting all the history plays from Richard II through Richard III. Rather than presenting eight plays, they collapsed the three Henry VI plays into two. That means there is no missing play. The BBC's latest work on presenting the history plays, "The Hollow Crown", will also present the Henry VI plays in two parts.

    what is this...doesn't it open with Suffolk handing over Margaret to the King?...why does it start with Jack Cade, when he doesn't appear until the 4th act, if I am not mistaken?..sorry, I will be moving on...

      Probably as in many productions, "Part 1" included Parts I and II of the play, often those two are condensed down into one. I never liked that either.

      This is Part III. I think they combined I and II into "Part 1" and II and III into "Part 2"
