As a person from South Asia especially from indian subcontinent doraemon, shinchen,Pokemon ,dragon ball Z was most popular here, they used to be our childhood .
Db made anime go global tbh
@@mrlord8519 per man, ninja hattori, kiteretsu as well😊
doraemonnn
beyblade??
KochiKame - hindi song nostalgia 😌
Lol the realization that your grandma was an otaku was the storyline I didn't know I needed for this anime video. 😅😅😂😂❤❤❤
Shoutout grandma indeed.
True story 🫶 grandma is the queen
There were 3 major turning points.
First was Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon and Pokemon which introduced people to anime (thought they still thought it as cartoon).
Post-2005, people had bigger exposure and recognised how anime was different from western cartoons.
Then post-2011, anime streaming became an option and people no longer depended on TV to watch what they wanted
A big factor in that post 2005 can be credited to Haruhi Suzumiya. The abundance of LN to anime adaptations exploded after The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya came out.
Anime was largely either manga based or anime original up to that point. LNs already have a fan base, so unfortunately, a safer investment than OG anime. I genuinely enjoy watching something no one can either spoil or read ahead on so i miss those times lol
Here in my country there is a way earlier turning point that introduced boomers to anime. Shows like voltes v, machingerz, etc.
Elfen Lied was play on local TV and they had to cut many things hahah
my cousin that we adopted because her mother, my auntie, says she is financially unstable to raise her, named her Haidi after the cartoon "Heidi" because she used to watch that show. my aunt died due to cancer back in 2006 and her daughter now that we treat as real siblings is now a board passer and a licensed teacher ☺
Sazae-san (1969) is STILL running! Not reruns either, they're still making new episodes!
One Piece has nothing on Sazae-san with its 8500+ episodes.
Astroboy is the most iconic for me and that's the start of my craziness about Anime.. I saw my first Astroboy during the 80's when I was 8 years old together with GhostBuster of American cartoon
15:39 Don't be fooled by its cuteness😂
2:23 ``Sazae-san'' is still being aired as a TV anime. It is the longest anime in Japan. This year marks the 55th anniversary of the anime broadcast.
Among the anime introduced here, ``Doraemon'', ``Chibi Maruko-chan'', ``Anpanman'', ``Crayon Shin-chan'', and ``Detective Conan'' ゛ONE PIECE〝are currently being broadcast. Although it is not available here, there is also ``Nintama Rantaro''.
I love Yuji Ohno, the man who composed the songs for all the Lupin shows. He made my love for jazz stronger. Every season of Lupin always had a different jazz version of the theme song. I definitely love the ending songs for the show called "Love Squall" and "Love Theme", those are so iconic. There's also a beautiful boxing anime called Hajime No Ippo which had the song "Inner Light" by Shocking Lemon and it was awesome! There was also a show called Great Teacher Onizuka and the theme song "Driver's High" by L'Arc-En-Ciel was extremely relaxing and catchy. Right now in the show called De-De-De-Destruction, the ending song of the same name by Ano is crazy and fun!
What I love about anime music is that they're not afraid to get complicated in terms of musical composition. Instead of just sticking to just four chords, they can use a lot more depending on the kind of emotion they're trying to evoke. They're also not afraid to use other musical instruments as well. In the west, a lot of songs don't involve the piano anymore, but in anime music, you can always prominently hear the piano even in rock music. There are so many sounds that aren't "standards" that they incorporate into the songs and that's what makes their anime music sound so unique and flavorful.
I definitely love the 90s anime music sound. It's still in the era of Japanese "City Pop" which I adore. For example, one of the songs from one of the Sailor Moon movies was "Kiss the Starlight" by Emi Shinohara. That's the type of song you'd probably hear at night while exploring the city or partying and driving around with friends. It's very relaxed, very chill, with the good old DX piano sound with some 80s/90s beats. Another song with a similar vibe from Ranma 1/2 is "Positive" by Morikawa Miho, very nice and relaxing and happy.
For more 70s/80s drama sound, I love the theme song "Hana No Sasayaki" by Satoko Shinomari from the show A Little Princess Sara. For a little bit more soul, I love "Yuudachi" by Suga Shikao from the show Boogiepop Phantom.
There's just so many anime songs that are so lovable!
In the Philippines we pronounced her name ( Hay-dee )😂
Hi, Filipino here, ty for reacting to this video. tbh, I found my love for guitar because of anime music. Been saving up for a setup to try and do anime song covers just in guitar and create a yt channel in the future. Also been watching anime since the 90's, its my whole childhood until now that im an adult still watch anime from time to time. Im glad anime became popular because at school I was bullied for watching it during high school and sometimes in college. It's good so now no one can be criticized as much by loving anime like before
Huh where in the Philippines? Im from the Philippines to, but every millennials I know have all watched anime when they were a kid, till now. idk why you would get bullied, if everyone did. Even my father watches anime and hes like 54yrs old, the same goes for my uncle which is like 65+yrs old
Sword Art Onlie OP was Sing By LiSA and the Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood was simg by Yui

Best anime would be heidi...surprised to see it's not even there in the list-my childhood memory even before Pokemon or dragon ballz....heidi is the classic anime made me emotionally attached to anime ....no other anime ever could
Anime were soo popular in late 90s and early/mid 00s in india as well. Most of the kids grew up watching most children's anime and shounen without even knowing it's Japanese.
also, every opening of fullmetal alchemist brotherhood are SO GOOD, if you'd like to, it'll be worth check them out on your on time! Again by YUI (she's amaziiiiiing i love her sm) or NICO touches the Wall, theyre a great band too,
Their faces when they see them legendary animes 😂

Ranma ½, dragon ball, voltez5, and studio ghibli the reason anime is part of my childhood until now
Streaming anime started earlier than you'd expect, Efra. It started way back in 2005.
And I agree with Wale that AoT changed the anime game in terms of international appeal, but I'd argue the anime before it in the list, SAO, opened the doors to isekai anime, the dominant genre today, despite barely being isekai itself.
Interesting that they have obscure animes like Elfen Lied and Clannaad but No Voltus V or Transformers
Watching this make me feel nostalgic and i know i have a wonderful days as a child...😊
A lot of the older animes are actually popular in my country too. My parents and my brother have watched most of them back then. And Captain Tsubasa was reallyyyyyy popular among boys because it's about football
Your grandma's awesome
Too quickly passed cowboy bebop, a fucking masterpiece !!
You guys should check out hindi version of Japanese anime songs famous in South Asia
19:46 Yes, the composer of Ado's "KuraKura", the opening theme for Spy x Family S2, is Yoko Kanno, who also composed COWBOY BEBOP's "TANK!"😊
Ado released an idol group with a really cool theme, I'd love to see your reactions to their songs! :)
I'm so happy we watched similar things!
Laughed so hard at ur reaction to lilium, Elfen lied. Fun fact: Eleven from Stranger Things is inspired by this anime.

12:16 One piece is now going to end around Feburary or March of 2025

13:38 The Sudden Disapprearance of Haruhi Suzumiya is an amazing movie and criminally underrated, nobody talks about it.
Flame of Recca has good tracks too😊..love is changing and the theme song
9:30 this is the most popular one in India ❤
i think you guys would love pura alcantara, theres a 10min video of two of her performances, she is a peruvian singer who sang in the 80s, i think youd really enjoy 😊

I loved Heidi and madeline in childhood, first anime to ever watch
Where everyone.... ❤❤❤❤
even though i was born in 2000 i watched almost every anime from 79 to this day thanks to the legendary arabic channel spacetoon and im so glad that they kept broadcasting older anime with newer anime so we can have this great childhood forever grateful spacetoon
Everytime they see the one piece opening, they go "still going on" lol i wish they would know more about op than just its length.
React to Sage by Ritvtiz
Also, Liggi and Udd Gaye by Ritviz. Idk how you guys havent stumbled upon him yet.
In India lots of people watched Pokémon or Naruto first, but I watched Heidi, Dragon ball, Cardcaptor Sakura, Shonan moguri (the jungle book in Hindi), after 2011 I got to know that these are anime what I watched in my childhood (my fav.) in 2004 when Animax channel broadcasted in India then I watched many cool no interesting anime especially Inuyasha left me with impression 💙
This is my own bias but the most impressive thing, musically speaking, in my lifetime of watching anime is Egoist being created in 2011 *specifically* for the anime Guilty Crown.
The music in that anime is phenomenal, Hiroyuki Sawano being involved and all. But the group Egoist far outlived the anime it was created for and continued doing anime OPs, concerts etc until disbanding in 2023.
I didn't know Astroboy was waaay older than me it's the most precious as it was the first one that introduced me to anime, Candy Candy and Dragon Ball Z were like my childhood but i think the biggest one (at least in our country) would be Voltes V. huge until now (though it was not included in this clip 😅).
Their reaction on Kenshin and every anime they watched lol I know lots of anime from 1974 on (1997 liner here) and like ... am I the only one who experienced anime without knowing they were anime ? I just thought there were cartoons like Sponge Bob or whatever lol I know better now. It's really nostalgic to see or hear them again after so long.
❤❤🙏🙏Happy Raksha Bandhan 🎉🎉.The festival of brother and sister.❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉 🎉
