There’s a reason for her to act this way beyond being spoiled. When you realize her nation is literally powered by her people’s belief in justice, and they’re in the middle of an energy crisis it kind of makes sense that she tries so hard to reassure and entertain them. She has to front all this confidence so they’ll still believe in the system she’s created, even if she clearly doesn’t know what she’s doing. When you realize that, challenging the traveller to a meaningless duel over a really stupid law makes total sense, cause it would make her look good, reassure the citizens in her power and likely wouldn’t actually inconvenience or hurt the traveller in any serious way.
And the way she at times becomes insecure when she realizes her people are not entertained or when she is proven wrong, she tries her best to put on a facade.
Then maybe the problem is in the justice system itself. There's no need to put up all these facade. If her privileged ass can actually put it to work instead of relying on a machine, then you know... Not everything can be quantified, that's why the moment they made the Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale to do the work that a human MUST do, is the moment they fucked up.
Also the reason she dodge the question and flees when asked why the machine give guilty verdict to childe is maybe because people would cease to believe it and justice it supposed to uphold. We know that the machine is power generator that runs the entire city, if the belief is gone the city would run out of energy and turns chaos. I believe she secretly investigate the machine
Well, to be fair, we fought 3 Elemental Dragons, Osial and his wife (whose name I don't remember), Ei and the Raiden Shogun puppet at what I believe is close to their max strength (at least for what the Plane of Euthymia and the mind space of the Shogun puppet allowed), 2 Harbingers of the Fatui (which, in both cases, we totally demolished) and a false mechanical God who was formerly an Harbinger as well and we even turned him to our side. At this point, if Furina was actually well informed about us, she should have known that a challenge to a duel in the old fashioned way would be the fastest way to lose her credibility as an Archon (not that she has that much as the God of Justice to begin with, even her own subjects see her more like a Ringleader of a Circus than a Ruler of a Nation). 😅
Common sense would tell you that challenging the person who defeated several gods (1 other archon included) to a "duel" would result in a fight Unfortunately for Furina, her ego and thirst for drama seem to overtake her common sense
Looking at the other countries... Yeah... Fontainian is currently the most advanced country that Traveler visited. And you can't say that it was thanked for Neuvillette leadership... He came to the administration a hundred years later, and needed time to make people trust him. (Neuvillette is well respected, but just like Furina said... he needs to touch grass more (Open up with citizens more))

Maybe she'll be busy. And surely giving mortals a chance to solve that crisis themselves is only fair. Apparently, doing so is all the rage among the Archons these days. Also, free energy source, that helps too.
She was also very useful in all her scenes, especially in the trial, she had the discourse on her side and then switched at the end to avoid being in the wrong
I already like Fischl but they picked from what`s the best from her and tossed into Furina making the archon even more flamboyant and even more dramatic. Definitely the best character in the game atm.

Does anybody else think just based on what it is they're seeing here and/or within the game that she is going to have a really emotional story and archon quest? Like this behavior is usually used to show a sympathetic, sad, and caring personality that is usually just as deep as she is here arrogant. At least, I feel like that is what we are going to get whenever Fontaine's archon and story quests are completed.

She's one of the best characters in the game for me. She's hilarious, and her scenes are just so amusing. Not to mention that she's also really interesting, and the incredible performance of her EN VA.

I thought she was gonna be annoying and that I would call her my least favorite archon, but turns out Ei can keep that position. Furina grew on me like a fungus. And it’s amazing
I love how all the other archons had either a sneaky reveal, or an epic one. Venti didnt actually reveal himself till later on in the archon quest. Zhongli faked his death in front of us, and gave us a twist with the deal with singora. Raiden pulled a sword out of her bo- Nahida gave us a mindfuck. Meanwhile Focalors/Furina just appears, challenges us to a duel, we accepted having fought The Unknown God, Dvalin, Osial, OSIALS WIFE, Azdaha, Raiden THREE SEPERATE TIMES WHILE SOMEHOW LIVING, Wanderer's god form, the aranara orb monster thing, many different fighting organisations, Every single overworld boss, every single trounce domain boss, and the entire abyss order, and somehow Furina is surprised we accepted and chickens out. Makes me think shes a weak god like Nahida, but like Nahida is semi-omniscient.

Well, I must say I'm impressed by how unpredictable Furina is. But that's also her weakness. She's not good at being honest that she even reminded me of Fischl. In her case, all she need to do to overcome that weakness is to be honest to herself and to her people. She's gonna need a lot of courage in order to do it, that is. But if she does, then she will be very powerful to the point that she can change everything for the better. It's all about breaking the shackles of the past and move forward for the brighter future.😎

Does anybody else think just based on what it is they're seeing here and/or within the game that she is going to have a really emotional story and archon quest? Like this behavior is usually used to show a sympathetic, sad, and caring personality that is usually just as deep as she is here arrogant. At least, I feel like that is what we are going to get whenever Fontaine's archon and story quests are completed.

She's one of the best characters in the game for me. She's hilarious, and her scenes are just so amusing. Not to mention that she's also really interesting, and the incredible performance of her EN VA.

Meanwhile Focalors/Furina just appears, challenges us to a duel, we accepted having fought The Unknown God, Dvalin, Osial, OSIALS WIFE, Azdaha, Raiden THREE SEPERATE TIMES WHILE SOMEHOW LIVING, Wanderer's god form, the aranara orb monster thing, many different fighting organisations, Every single overworld boss, every single trounce domain boss, and the entire abyss order, and somehow Furina is surprised we accepted and chickens out. Makes me think shes a weak god like Nahida, but like Nahida is semi-omniscient.

she's like a combination of a toned down Fischl and a drunk Venti.
Well, I must say I'm impressed by how unpredictable Furina is. But that's also her weakness. She's not good at being honest that she even reminded me of Fischl.
In her case, all she need to do to overcome that weakness is to be honest to herself and to her people. She's gonna need a lot of courage in order to do it, that is. But if she does, then she will be very powerful to the point that she can change everything for the better.
It's all about breaking the shackles of the past and move forward for the brighter future.😎
