Lisa was very lucky to have Riley as a daughter in her life. Riley, you're a very special person. You deserve all the happiness and love. Keep up the great work.
My mom died of cancer when I was 38. people would say “she lost her battle with cancer” and I hated that. If someone dies of a heart attack you don’t hear “he lost his battle with his arteries” or if they’re in a car wreck “he fought hard but that GMC finally got him” We aren’t designed to fight our own bodies or this life. We simply live and somehow, someday, cease. She didn’t win or lose anything. It was simply Gods timing. Not a curse for me to fear, fix or try to prevent. All of this to say, thank you for discussing the reality of death. It’s refreshing for those of us who get it. ❤
I have lost most my family to cancer. I like to think they won the battle with cancer because that damn cancer no longer has a body to leach of off. It's like cancer is a home invader that lost its home. I am so sorry you lost your Mom I know that pain. I hope my comment doesn't offend you, for some reason it makes me feel better seeing it this way.❤
I still can’t believe that beautiful Lisa Marie Presley is no longer here.😞 My God she was so beautiful!🌹 May she be at peace and happiness with her son and with her father.🕊️🌹
Lisa Marie's struggles with low self-esteem and self-loathing are understandable, given the traumatic events she endured as a child. The abuse she suffered at the hands of her mother's boyfriend, who was supposed to protect her, likely had a lasting impact on her self-worth. Despite this, Lisa has found her voice and should be heard and supported. Her daughter, Riley, is a testament to Lisa's strength and resilience, as well as the positive influence of her dad Danny.
Riley did the book so well, I loved how her words and Lisa's were in different font, so you instantly knew this was Riley's memory of the same situation. I think she is lucky to have those tapes in her mothers voice telling her memories of her life.
As a TN resident, I just want her to know how much I loved your grandpa and your mom so much. Elvis and Lisa Marie meant to world to us, here in West TN. ♥
@shirlysmilesmusic6919 My second reply as we approach 2 years since Lisa passed. One of my elementary school 🏫 bffs shared her name and possibly was named after her. Tragically, Lisa died on my childhood friend: Lisa Marie's January 12th birthday, which is now Lisa Marie Presley's heavenly🎆✝️🔔🎁✨️❤️✌️🤩 birthday. I pray ✨️🙌✨️for her, her son, and her Daddy, often.🎂☮️💖🛐
Great interview. Riley is such a graceful and articulate woman and human. No doubt Elvis and Lisa are looking down very, very proud with the wonder of her.
I love your authenticity Riley. It takes courage and although you may not always feel it I think you are very brave. It shows others that it’s ok to be the same.
Riley Keough I myself just got the book and I Am So Very Grateful for you finishing your Mom's book and I still haven't finished reading the book but I have Always Loved Your family because My Dad was in the Army with your Grandfather Elvis in Germany and I drove to Memphis with my youngest daughter so that I could pay my respects to You and Your family because it truly broke my heart to hear that Your Mom passed away We Love You Guys Always ❤🙏❤️❣️
I think with grief, you never get over it. You just leran to live with it.. As it shifts & changes over yrs. I know that my Mom loved me & I love her. My faith gives me a hope that I will see her in heaven. I feel the comfort that God gives me. Im so grateful. 🙏🏻👑✝️🕊️❤️
First time listener here. I'd never even heard of this podcast but I'm a fan of Riley so I tuned in. Lauryn asked some fantastic questions. As a viewer, I appreciate that she took the time to read the book and could ask questions that weren't superficial. Lisa Marie had some tough breaks in her life but it's clear that she was a good mama to her babies because Riley seems like a well rounded, thoughtful, intelligent young woman. It's interesting hearing that Lisa Marie never thought that she was beautiful and that she was insecure because in the 90s she projected the opposite to me. I was young but I always thought she was gorgeous and confident esp around the time she was with Michael Jackson. She was radiant.. I always believed they loved each other because she always looked so happy. I know she'd be very proud of Riley.
I grew up with her Grandfather so to hear that Lisa felt like that is really shocking! I thought not only was she beloved by her parents but the entire world thought she royalty.
My dad was big Elvis fan he died at 55 with heart attack im massive Lisa Marie fan i listen to her everyday. I went to Graceland in October everyone was knocking into each other to get to his grave no one was at Lisa Marie's so i got her and Ben to myself for a bit. Lovely place and staff
How wonderful to have those tapes and information and memories! I love Lisa Marie's poetry and music. She was so real and raw. I can not imagine having to live her life, her pain, and how amazing she was able to see her granddaughter before she passed. Riley is amazing in herself. I can't wait to read the book.
What a great conversation Riley is doing strong and well spoken while going through such a tough time. Lauren thank you for sharing your story as well so brave ❤❤❤.
Riley, you are so self aware and insightful. I appreciate you. Thank you for your work as a Death Doulah. I have been considering taking the course myself.
So strange..Lisa Marie was stunning. Not sure how she was unable to see that?! I still listen to her albums. She brought up a beautiful girl..Riley, great interview ❤
@ oh wow!! I’m January 18 , you ?? Sadly my wedding anniversary is January 21 .. so this will be my first anniversary after my husbands death .. so I know it will be very bittersweet. I’m trying my best to prepare myself , if that’s even a possibility. I’m doing my best though ❤️🩹
Riley seems to be such a down to earth lovely soul with a quiet confidence. Lovely to see. I’m sure experiencing the sudden losses of a brother and Mother has been very hard but at least publicly she seems to be handling it with grace and strength.
I didn’t know Riley before this podcast. Lisa must have been a great parent this girl has turned into a wonderful human. I’m totally a fan of hers and wish her the best for the future.
Lisa wasn’t the only parent.. Riley has her father’s strength and resilience.. Lisa was a loving but unstable parent, you are looking at Riley and forgetting Ben.
Riley is so grounded and intelligent. Exceptional Interview. My mom was a hardcore Elvis fan. I have memories of listening to my mom's Elvis vinyl records with her, we loved Teddy Bear. Another memory is my mom had one show that she watched - only one and that was Dallas - I would beg her to let me stay up with her. We loved watching Priscilla on Dallas. One of my favorite memories with my mom was when we visited Graceland in 1992, my mother loved Graceland and being there felt truly magical. I followed Lisa Marie Presley my entire life and always thought, "Wow, she's fearless and it seems like she has so much fun." 💗💗💗
I have to stop listening because I'm on the verge of crying. Not sure why but I'll finish listening later.I learned that I'm related to Elvis so I'm related to Riley too.I remember the day Elvis died.I was a little too young to have grown up as an Elvis fan.I was of the Beatles generation.I always liked Elvis especially his early music. And I followed Lisa Marie and her family through the years.Riley seems like a very sensible and talented young woman.I hope she will have a happy and blessed life after all the loss she's suffered.❤
What a beautiful interview Thank you for giving Riley the space to speak .She is very sincere, She honours her mother’s legacy with such intelligence and grace. What a beautiful soul Lisa Marie has raised.! Riley is a really talented and wise woman❤Merry Chrismas from Norway. Svar
What a sweet down to earth angel . Lisa was so so beautiful. I wish she felt that when she was alive . My god, sooo stunning… I don’t believe there was or is ine ugly gene in that family ❤
Still have to be safe. We ALL do ya'll!!🙏 Just pay attention to your surroundings and those in your surroundings. Lisa has always been such a beautiful person in my eyes. I'll be 55 tomorrow and I always loved her makeup and hair and she dressed so cute (I was an extremely heavy girl the first part of my life and I couldn't dress like her but I loved to see her in pictures❤). My daughter was born 12-20-89 and her name is Danielle 🫶 You are such a cutie. So intelligent, beautiful, warm and loving, funny and you explain things so well (ty). 😊
Having lost a brother, I can relate to the pain discussed here. We all loved Elvis and Lisa and I don't think anyone wants to hurt them or the family. But when your in grief, so many things are triggers. I hold all of you in prayers that you can smile through the tears. I have found that Grief is the emotion we feel when we love so deeply and loose it. This young lady is so poised and just a beautiful soul. Lisa did a great job
I'm an Elvis fan. So shocking when Lisa died, it made me very upset and I cried when i got the news. I've read Lisa's book. I have seen alot of interviews with Riley. She's very interesting and talented. Thanks.💖
Very interesting interview. Just came across it and started watching. Riley is so down to earth and relatable. Such a smart, well-rounded woman. Lisa did a great job!! I love the way she talks about her mother. Lisa always appeared to me as being very real, shy, sweet but tough. She seemed like the type that would speak her mind. Always seemed like a loving mother to her kids, very adoring. May God Bless her always. I feel that when she passed her son and father were there to welcome her home. RIP Lisa, we all love and miss you!
Thank you Riley for being authentic- I know you will do good things with your talent and gifts. I can’t wait to return to Graceland. I went for the first time July 2019. At the beginning of the tour I was struck when watching the black and white film clips of Elvis and realized that MJ used many of Elvis dance moves! My daughter and I had a great time. Ali’s exhibit was there as well. I look forward to following your career-you are a natural!
No one owns dance moves. people borrow from each other. a LOT of people borrowed from Elvis, a lot of people borrowed from Michael Jackson, Michael borrowed from many people too. yes, Michael borrowed from Elvis too, and he was a huge fan of his father in law. He was an inspiration. All that said, Michael had a LOT of original moves too. Wrote his OWN music. Did films called music videos. Michael was known more than Elvis, because he traveled, and did concerts in other countries, HUGE packed concerts, all over the World! and MJ was an entertainer almost ALL of his life, since he was a child, starting with J5, which is why he is the GOAT! Elvis was great too. They are the two top Entertainers of all time! (google it, MJ was considered the #1 entertainer of all time, Elvis was second.) Two giants, two Kings. Gave their lives for their music. On the Graceland tour did you see the tree where Michael carved a heart, and put his and Lisa Marie's initials? I love that!
@leahartlee29 What you said isn't true. MJ isn't the greatest entertainer of all time and wasn't more well known than Elvis. Maybe more well known by kids and young adults. I don't see people from all around the world going to see MJ's home. Even if they couldn't take a tour, they could still see the outside of Neverland. You're a huge MJ fan, and that's great, but don't say things that aren't true. Look at how many movies have been made about Elvis and how many books that have been written. The only house which has been visited more than Graceland is the White House. That should tell you something. You need to do more research.
Elvis was famous because he was a good looking artist who sang amazing songs. A world class unique entertainer. Many famous people these days are famous for well not much. 50 million followers (consisting of scams) on an internet app is not the same by any means.
I lost my husband and mother back to back. I lost my husband very unexpectedly to suicide, and I found him, left widowed with 5 children. Just 4 weeks later, my mother was diagnosed with terminal brain and lung cancer, so my first in shock months of grief as a widow with PTSD was being thrown into end of life care, while getting 5 children through the grief of a parent. It was a blur. I'm surprised I survived. The children are doing well now, but the grief and PTSD for me has been hell. We put ourselves processing aside to care for our kids. The worst is the severe anxiety that one of my children will be thinking of suicide or suddenly develop a tumor and I won't catch it in time, like I missed it with my husband and my mother, which sounds crazy, but that's my daily life.
I am so sorry for your lost,it needs time and a lot of "work" to think positive and let go of this feeling of guilt because is not your fault, the time the we are here ,on Earth,is not our decision, you have your kid's and yourself for living for and fight for.Keep on and permit yourself to leave whit joy and serenity, being greatful that you had in your life your mom and your husband.Stay safe.Be blessed.🙏🤗💚
Priscilla ruined poor Lisa’s life. Putting her into Scientology was evil. Elvis told Priscilla how them mf’er’s only wanted money ect. She did everything wrong. But thankfully she was half Elvis & got that unconditional love from him! Great Job Riley.
She is so impressive and I just want to say as an Elvis fan of decades now, who's read many books about him, it's obvious that there is a common thread here with Elvis, Lisa, and Riley, where all three have HEART and they truly want to bring people together, especially when it comes to the themes of sorrow, spirituality and healing. For me it's easy to see Elvis in Riley.
Thank you Riley for shareing your story about your moms death and Ben's . a know what pain can cause when it comes to loosing family members. My mom died when she was 63 yrs old from cancer my dad died at age 70 from cancer. I can understand your grief and sorrow. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤
She was so sweet and responded so positively despite the awkward dynamic going on with this couple. The tension between them feels so palpable that it sort of bleeds over into the interview at some points. It’s uncomfortable to watch. She really handled herself like a pro. That couldn’t have been easy, especially given the nature of the topic.
Awesome video, Riley is just amazing. Any of those partners , still living, will always be there for Riley and those girls. Lisa was amazing and her children are too. You would never know Riley is a huge star. She is so down to earth. I'm proud to share blood with her even if distant. Elvis was my 3rd cousin so that would take mathing lol. She's just a lovely human. ❤
Loved this podcast. I lost my son 4 years ago and I remember people saying things like “when we lost my “brother” my mom was never the same”. These words still haunt me. It’s extremely difficult but I want to be better than the “same” for my son and daughter. Thank you for sharing your mom’s story Riley ❤❤.
I have to say I tried to get my Dad to write a book. He isn’t famous, but he was a great storyteller. He died several years ago, and there are still days when I go to call him to ask a question, and remember that I can’t.mi still have a voice mail that I listen to when I am really missing him
@@RachaelNelson-c1n Really?? So you think she deserved to have her father dead at age 9, being neglected by her mother, being sexually molested at 10 and being thrown into Scientology?? Because all those events marked her adult life
Even as normal blue collar family it was just times of what goes on in the home stay in the home. It's our children like Riley's age is a different generation. So I understand her dad's feeling. God bless her and her family, I hear Lisa's voice in some words she says. I loved this podcast
Another way of looking at it, Lisa Marie was “ Humble “ and speaking of my opinion about parenting, I myself enjoy living through my child when he is having the most awesome 🤩 experiences, with life, and vacations.
I wish they had asked her about her relationship with Priscilla and how her grandma felt about the book and Lisa Marie leaving control of Graceland to Riley....
Riley seems like a very old soul, so put together who will carry on the Presley legacy. She was, however, incorrect Elvis did appear outside of the U.S.A. , he came to Canada 🇨🇦 he did two shows on April 2, 1957 in Toronto (my hometown), Ottawa, on April 3 (2 shows) and on August 31, 1957 in Vancouver, British Columbia. The book is well worth the read.
Great interview. Riley is so open! I would have just let her talk and not try to interject so much. No offense, but especially Michael. There was a lot of talking over her and even interrupted her train of thought.
Lisa would be proud of Riley. Talking about losing a parent. I first lost my dad when he was 52. I can't remember his voice. I would give anything to hear his voice .again. Back then there were no smartphones . So I've no videos of my dad. Then my mum passed away 2011 suddenly and luckily I had plenty of videos , vioicemails etc of her. My two brothers passed away in ear.y 2000s. I can't remember thier voices either. That's what hurts. Loved Lisa and Rileys book. It was sad. .
I’m man enough to admit this: I never cared for RK before and….idiotically, on my part… it was mostly due to her performance in Daisy Jones and the Six. I found her character to be an awful human being, and someone that I couldn’t bring myself to like at all lol- I had a very hard time suspending disbelieve. Let me put it that way. Well, if a real man can admit his mistakes, then perhaps I actually am turning into one. I’ve now gone 180 on my opinion; she seems like a very sweet and sincere person, that’s been through quite a bit, and has had the anchor of celebrity family weighing her down since childhood. I actually feel extremely empathetic towards her. Not to mention she does seem very very nice. And at the end of the day, if an actor can make me dislike a person (character) that much it must be a damn good actor.
She is a beautiful soul .Resilience throw everything she has been through is admirable..( the dynamics between the two people that do the podcast is putting a heavy energy on it..youguys need to work on being more supportive instead of underlying comments …? The wife needs to be more gentle with her husband. He is a great amazing guy …) Great interview overall

@@leahartlee29I commented to you above.
Elvis was famous because he was a good looking artist who sang amazing songs. A world class unique entertainer.
Many famous people these days are famous for well not much. 50 million followers (consisting of scams) on an internet app is not the same by any means.
Riley is so down to earth and wonderful ❤
Not a helpful comment to anyone, particularly a granddaughter.
@ That’s your opinion!
I bought the audible book it was so great, it definitely was a very different experience but loved it !
Excellent in-depth interview . Good job !
Love the Mountain valley water there 🥰 that was Elvis‘s favorite 😊
I was wondering if anyone was going to pick up on that
Beyond grateful for having found the original version of From here to the great unknown right at my local bookshop!
I really enjoyed this. Thank you all. ❤
Lisa raised an amazing young woman!! I'd be proud if Riley was my daughter!! ❤❤
Riley is the best❤ super proud of her !
OMG! Let the girl talk already! We don't care what you two think!
100% - they wouldn’t stop interrupting her!
They’re just so rude.
As an Elvis fan I loved this and fun fact- Elvis’s favorite water was mountain valley spring water and they have bottles of it there!
I have to say I tried to get my Dad to write a book. He isn’t famous, but he was a great storyteller. He died several years ago, and there are still days when I go to call him to ask a question, and remember that I can’t.mi still have a voice mail that I listen to when I am really missing him
Lisa was so much like her father. Ben looked so much like Evis. Lisa had so much sadness in her life. I felt so sad for her.
Justamente eso nunca le gusto,pq jamas pudo ser el mismo.
She did most of it 2 her self
@@RachaelNelson-c1n Really?? So you think she deserved to have her father dead at age 9, being neglected by her mother, being sexually molested at 10 and being thrown into Scientology?? Because all those events marked her adult life
I loved Lisa Marie! She was very grounded and real. She had her problems but I respect how she lived her life!
This was entertaining, I want to listen to the Audio book, that's going to be so good.
My Birthday is Jan, 8th, same as Elvis! 😊
so sad. lisa was awesome and her albums were too. love her voice. such a talent. RIP. riley is such a talent too. no doubt her folks are proud.
Even as normal blue collar family it was just times of what goes on in the home stay in the home. It's our children like Riley's age is a different generation. So I understand her dad's feeling. God bless her and her family, I hear Lisa's voice in some words she says. I loved this podcast
My mother and her cousin saw one of Elvis last shows. How was it? wonderful he looked great.
He looked terrible
The guy interviewer is boring and the girl talks over him all the time
Let her talk. You 2 interrupt too. Much
Her tea has too be cold by now
@@judithryle2113 you are terrible
Her Moms book she helped write was so good!!!
First time hearing your podcast. You are both great interviewers.
I loved Lisa Marie's music and vids
seems so normal and down to earth. In the crazy world she was born into, She has had some solid people in her life apparently. Good job, Riley.
Beautiful interview ❤
Riley… I love you… you’re the best daughter❤
Another way of looking at it, Lisa Marie was “ Humble “ and speaking of my opinion about parenting, I myself enjoy living through my child when he is having the most awesome 🤩 experiences, with life, and vacations.
What a cool guest! ❤️
Lauren you should do a solo video about grief and losing your mom 🫶🏻
I can't wait to read the book and get the audio book.
Back then, you were a star for years now. There are stars one day, and then there not.
I wish they had asked her about her relationship with Priscilla and how her grandma felt about the book and Lisa Marie leaving control of Graceland to Riley....
Great Interview. Riley ❤
I really don"t like male interviewer. He interupts too much, asks simple and shallow questions, and makes it too. much about himself.
Great interview. Riley is so open! I would have just let her talk and not try to interject so much. No offense, but especially Michael. There was a lot of talking over her and even interrupted her train of thought.
Yes! He kept interrupting her! It's extremely frustrating
Here book is great ! I’ve listened to the audio book many times
She has a great attitude. She is also very humble.
I’ll say though, you’ll have a hard time ever getting me to like her grandmother.
