Greek tragedy is one of my favorite songs by The Wombats. I could listen to it a million times. Singing along in my car. My friend and I got to see you perform twice and it was just the best! :) I want to see you again sometime but it's tough this year with my final semester of school.
Very glad to know some background info about the songs. Moving to New York literally saved my life back than: It held my head up in a deep depression when I had already stopped sleeping for about two weeks. Fell in love with the music of the Wombats and liked them ever since. Excited to see them again in Cologne on the first of May!!!! P. S. They were great!!!! 😀😀😀😀
I've apparently upset some people who have clearly never stepped foot in liverpool, it was a joke, because that's what people from Liverpool say, stop getting offended.
2008 when guitars bands were the rage i seen these guys at oxegen festival in Ireland. They had a 20ft blow up wombat on stage. Great to see these guys still going given the shocking state of the music industry at the minute.
American fan here; whenever I tell people I like the wombats they have no idea who I’m talking about😭 The plus side is I didn’t have to pay a fortune to see them live when they came to Detroit this year. I know they’re more popular in the UK and Australia, but are they like mainstream? Do you casually hear their music on the car radio or playing in public places? I’ve heard them come on a few times on alternative radio stations but that’s about it…
@@pumpkin__head Certainly for folks who where in their teens in the late 00's, Wombats' first album was on basically everyones ipod. Maybe not an iconic band to older/younger generations, but songs like 'Lets dance to joy division' and 'Moving to New York' have that teenage nostalgia for millions of us current late twenty-somethings!
I’ve seen them a lot and they always play plenty of iconic songs. When you have a big discography and brand new material some stuff is gonna have to get sacrificed at some point
they didn’t play many old songs at their new gigs/tour bc it was for their new album and even then they played old songs. At their other tours/gigs they definitely play classics

'People don't change people time does' is the best track on the new album, change my mind.
It's certainly the best title, at least.
No it's flip me upside down, have you heard how boppy that is

That forty year old drummer needs a stylist.
Just an unnecessary comment isn't it, he looks fine mate
