When Granger Smith was living in a camper, they had it inside a barn so they made a living room outside the trailer and put a bathroom in the corner of the barn. They also had their washer and dryer in the barn. They used the trailer for their kitchen and bedrooms. They had a family of 4 and 2 big dogs in there!
Yes granger's was a borrow deal for the company to get publicity kinda. I can't remember what is called not a collab oh oh a sponsor deal. But they didn't use the water... not sure if it was part of the deal or bc of lack of hook ups
They are still living in the camper. And NO their dogs don't live in the camper. They live in the barn because there's three of them. Their camper has an outside kitchen as well.

For your doggie door, you can buy a spare door and install your doggie door in it and when you sell it you can put in the original door and it would be best of both worlds!
In Houston as kids we said “soda or soda water” lol. Quick story: my family of 6 lived in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom 33ft Travel Trailer for almost a year in 2020 when we relocated from Houston to North Texas while getting our 15 acre homestead site ready to move on. It was hard coming from a 3500 sq ft suburban home. All off us living there taught us what we needed as far as usable space and necessities, it was as blessing. It forced us to spend more time together it was a good for us as a family.
The washer and dryer may move the entire rv and the moisture may cause mold. A laundry shed nearby may feel better. Maybe an outdoor kitchen, so you can cook without heating the entire rv up, and put the laundry in the outdoor kitchen.
Y’all are having more visits from the “homestead” TH-cam family. The destination camper could become your guest house. As you grow, you never know when a guest house would be needed.
I’ve had a Canine Fence for over 20 years. They are great for keeping your dogs in but not for keeping others out. Very little upkeep! If your dogs are chipped you can get a doggy door that recognizes their chips & only lets your chipped dogs in.
Wireless is not good for little dogs as they can’t take the shock, build them a yard area with t posts and make a dog door for the camper. 😊. It’s only temporary
I had three Jack Russell Terriers that were between 16-18 pounds and they learned not to go near the border. They lived until they were 18 years old respecting the fence!
@@dianamcelroy4386 Problem is in the country like they will be they will be coyote bait. The little dogs won't be able to run away but the coyotes can come across the barrier to get them. I would go with a physical fence

That means that although your dogs will not go outside the perimeter nothing stops a predators from coming into that area. A stray dog etc can come in and harm your pet and your pet has nowhere to run to to escape. I know that you probably would never leave your littles outside alone anyway but it’s just something to be aware of. I volunteer for a dog rescue group and we do not adopt to anyone with invisible fences.
GREAT POINT! Never thought of predators coming into such an area. Perhaps electric netting would solve that problem? Personally, I’ll stay with my 6’ privacy fence. If feel exposed without it. With it I feel I have a safe perimeter.
I have found it incredibly easy to install temporary dog fencing with t-posts and welded wire, which comes in different heights. We use both farm gates and chain link gates which are very lightweight and come in different widths depending on the mower size or what you needed to move through it. The only wood posts you'd really need would be to hang the gate and corners. Then your littles are still in their own fence, easy access, protection from predators etc. I'd be concerned about the stress that you would put them under with an invisible fence, electric fence system. I've seen dogs (as a trainer) who refused to go into parts of the yard because they were so afraid of the fence monster.
can the park model that had soft spots be professionally re-roofed totally stripped back in the factory and redone - the cost to fix it is taken off the price - then their should be a warranty for the work done on the roof by the company that did the work - you could be in this park home for 2 years
Rent one and take a trip. We lived in an 18 ft 5th wheel for almost 6 months w/ a 2 yr and 5 yr old, while waiting to get into our new home. It was close but it grew old very quickly. LOL!!

Hey y'all I just had a thought. Right at the end of your podcast you were talking about possibly selling the park model once your house is built. Why don't you place the park model in such a way that you can move your mama into it. Or you can use it for a guesthouse or something like that. It could be a little apartment for Mary Carl as well when she gets a little older. Lots of different possibilities there. Having it set up in a permanent spot will just add value to your property in the end
I love that you are taking care of your mom. I was wondering what she was going to do. I think it is great for your move. You all sound so excited for it. Do they have a doggie door for the entrance door for the RV,s.
I live in Bellingham Washington. We have several park model “parks” in my area. The Canadians love the “park models”. BTDT with building a custom home. The sub contractors bid their jobs for 3 weeks each. Although they only needed 1 week to do their job. I bird dogged the build and completed it in exactly 6 months. The park model can be for your mom after you are done with house. God bless Then the camper you get for her can be your travel camper after house is built.
A friend from Wisconsin says "Pop" is your best friends father. They call it soda. In Illinois it's pop, soda, or soda pop Yes, I've heard that down south soft drinks are cokes. The diversity of our language is a joy to behold. Electricity and water to an outbuilding/ barn/ canning kitchen for w and d, freezers, and an extra stove, freeze dryer, etc. Keeping the camper in a 'camper' port will keep rain and hail off off the unit as well as shade it in the heat of summer. A screen room as a "family room"/outdoor kitchen relieves some of the congestion in the camper.
Go with a park model to live in temporary , get momma one you can use for your future travels. Put awning over Park model and use for guest , Mary Carl and birds , overflow, etc
The reason Dutch and family call soft drinks “pop” is because in Oklahoma the old timers, my dad included called it “sodi pop”. We never knew any other name for drinks such as Coke or sprite. ❤️
Evelyn Rogers - Yup. And those things are barely insulated, so you'd freeze in the winter time. And varmints eventually eat their way through insulation and make their way through the a/c ducts.
Have you thought about a permanent trailer for you to live in until house is ready and then your mom move in there as her home when you move out. Your mom could have a camper until the trailer is ready for her. That way you won’t have to sell two campers.
A friend of mines son has spinal muscular atrophy type 1, they told her he wouldn't survive past 2. That boy just turned 5. He's a sweet child. He's very strong. I've known his momma since we were kids. I wasn't surprised her son's got spirit too :) these kids are pretty amazing.
My family calls it "soda". Work has had me really stressed lately, but your podcasts and vlogs are always so peaceful and happy. I love it. I hope you never change that.❤
Glad that Thomas is doing good! I know you guys are doing what is best for all involved. I just miss seeing him! The good mornings to all the animals is one of my favorite things and he just hasn’t been there!
I have birds. What about the Canned Ham? Set that up as Mary Carl’s living area. You could get a monitor if you would feel better to be able to monitor the canned ham during the night. The birds are used to having their own room. This may be what they need to have their own space. They can also be out of their cages whenever Mary Carl wants.
I would think she is too young to be in a separate camper. If she was like 16 that would be different. Also there is no potty. I wonder if the birds can stay in the canned ham at night. They sure have their hands full figuring this all out.
@@JackieHall71 yes. That’s what I meant but Mary Carl could have a baby monitor to feel comfortable that the birds are ok at night etc. it could be her space during the day to have the birds out etc. Just a suggestion. This little family will figure out what’s best for all their brood.
Ya see. You were meant to have this new farm. So many wonderful blessings have been sent your way, and it's wonderful to see how well things are going. I am so happy for y'all. It's going to be fun to see you move all the animals move over there. I wonder how Peaches and Nugget will take the move.
Same lol. People made fun of me for it. I would ask "what kind of coke you want?" And someone would always say "coke is coke so why you asking?" Lol. I went most of my life misunderstood😂😂
@@lacieglaab5899 Not misunderstood. Just didn't learn that CARBONATED SODA POP is why people call the classification of carbonated beverages SODA or POP. COKE is a BRAND NAME. Like cheeto's, frito's, or Dorito's, but we don't call them ALL CHIPS right??? They are snacks. Potato chips are CHIPS.
@@pamelaremme38 Bingo. I was born in and grew up in the San Francisco bay area... there, we call it soda. Hubby was born 100 miles away, but was raised in Nebraska... it's 'pop' there. So, the terms, to us, are interchangeable. We call a coke 'Coke' for it's a brand name. Same as for Pepsi, et al. But if you're asking someone if they wanted a carbonated drink, other than a 'seltzer' or club soda, it's regional... 'pop' or 'soda'.
Right there with y’all and everyone else😆 We sold our house on an acre in town, moved to our 22 acre land, bought a 5th wheel and living the life with our German Shepherd and English Bulldog. We moved a 10x20 barn, 5 goats, 26 chickens and 2 rabbits. Our kids are adults and not living with us and our daughter is keeping our African Gray parrot till our house is built. We are also building a ‘barndominuum’. We have water, electricity, our driveway and house pad was done this week 😁 Foundation guy coming tomorrow! God bless you all on your journey!!! PS-it’s always “coke” here in Texas
In Canada a camper is something you put on the back of a pick up truck, a trailer is just a trailer that is hooked to your truck ball joint on the back of your truck bumper. We have POP or soft drinks.
A Coke is a cola drink coca-Cola maybe Pepsi if I as for a coke I want to Coca-Cola if I want a Sprite I ask for a Sprite I wanna 7-Up I asked for a 7-Up and same goes fors dew And Dr. pepper someone told me they wanted a cola I would ask do you want to Coca-Cola? They may want a Pepsi but usually most people have Coca-Cola They might be Pepsi people and only have Pepsi. If someone asked me if I wanted a pop I would say I wanted a sprite or I may want a Dr. pepper. That’s just the way that I do it I think everybody’s different just don’t want to be so general if I want a sprite I want a sprite it may be considered a pop whatever you wanna call it just ask for what you want I guess it’s like if I had Kleenex I would ask would you like a tissue anyway that’s my two cents worth we’re all different and ask for different things in different ways thanks for letting me share and God bless❤️❤️🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼😘😘
@@kittysmith3761 Totally agree. Our conversation will be something along the lines of “I’m gonna go get a coke, wanna come?’ Once there, we order whichever flavor we desire. Coke is used as the generic name for pop
A camper with a master bedroom and bunk room would be perfect. MC in the bunk room with her birds and a master for you and Jason. A bunk room with the mattresses removed provides shelving for your cages. Definitely hook your Blackwater up to a sewer. We live in our camper all summer and hauling blackwater away is hard work every 3 to 4 days, so hook up to sewer, but leave the valve closed until you need to empty to avoid any black tank pyramids, which will be the end of your black tank.
My daughter has a wireless boarder for her big dogs It works great. You have to make sure the batteries are charged, if the power goes out the dogs are shocked, plus other animals can get to your dogs. What I would suggest is to put a solar powered fence up where you want to contain your little ones they are safely contained and nothing can get to them. I would also suggest providing a type of cover for them to get under in case of aerial attacks and they can't make it back to the doggie door. If possible I would get a substitute door to put the doggie door in and if decide to sell simply replace with the original.Hope this helps.
You can always convert a low cupboard into a dog door. Put the flap in the cupboard door or make it custom and put the hole in the floor inside. You could even put steps down to the ground!!!
Washer and dryer, bathroom, doggy/kitty door, room for birds and a room for MaryCarl are a must!! Nana's house 🏡 is a must have too, with a walk in tub would be nice! A screened in porch is an absolute must have too with doggy/kitty doors from the inside of the house! I've seen the catio's that Jason could build for Nana! She would be so happy and Sassy Man and the others would love it! These park/RV's are super nice and I wouldn't mind living in one! So excited to see what y'all do next! Looking forward to the new video! You guys are rocking this site, again!!!! BTW, keeping the park house might not be a bad idea for MaryCarl! Won't be long she will be wanting her own space!
I have lived in my 32 ft tag travel trailer 3 years now. I looked at park models recently. I consider them to be a step between travel trailers and mobile homes. They are usually fairly heavy and not great to be pulled a lot. Park models offer a more solid floor and usually a little more room. The problem with travel trailers is the floors on most of them get soft with constant living them. I have noticed mine starting to do this. If you buy used make sure to walk on the floors and make sure they are solid.
When thinking about the wireless fence type system for the dogs, remember it makes them vulnerable to other animals. The other animals can cross into their limited space, but the dogs with the collars would not evens be able to run from larger or predator animals. I had a friend that had this issue with his small dog who was seriously injured by a larger stray dog.
Park model is Mom's future home. Park model is named because they are also placed in places like 55 plus living park. In the age 55 plus parks new gabled roofs are installed. Double insulation from the heat.
Build a two sided pole barn and park it inside and have an outdoor shelter to allow for protection from the weather and intense sun. Create a nice outdoor living room. Use the pole barn later for farm supplies. You can build it away from the homesite build and the noise and dust and such. This is what I would do.
Make sure if you get a travel trailer that you store it under a roof with some sides to protect it from weather and sun. It will resell much faster with the outside not oxidized or dented or leaking. For the doggie door, make sure you build a small deck in front of the door so the dogs don't have to go down the steep steps and injure their hips or legs. It will come to you. I know you will figure it out. Ya'll are smart like that. Can't wait to see this adventure!
Thanks for asking !!! If it was me, I would build a well ventilated pole barn with garage doors at each end and a cement floor, electricity, and plumbing. The pole barn should be surrounded by a tall chain link fence with gates adjacent to each garage door. You could install a restroom/shower/bathroom, a laundry room if desired. Your camper(s) could be housed/protected and connected to water, sewer, and electricity in the pole barn. The pole barn would be drive through so there would be no backing up unless you wanted to. If the pole barn was big enough it could be divided up to accommodate all of MC's critters. I hope you like my idea. Best Wishes, BW
We here in North Carolina, call it soda, as well. I've always found it funny about how different people all over America, call different things by different names. So funny!
Put the washer dryer in the barn. Or watch Simple GoodLife in Idaho. She did her laundry outside, at least the washing. Filled it with buckets until they got the well. Good luck to you.❤️
Dutch has a cabin for an extra bath and the washers. You can bild a little cabin for the birds near MC window, another for the dogs and after all the bild a big barn over

Evelyn Rogers - Yup. And those things are barely insulated, so you'd freeze in the winter time. And varmints eventually eat their way through insulation and make their way through the a/c ducts.
Rent one to go to your conferences this summer
In Canada we call it POP, SODA, or SOFT DRINK depends on the region where you live.
Nice to see another Alberton on the channel 😀
I just Love it that You Gave Mrs. Cog Hill a Hug and a Smack !!!!!!
Can’t wait to see them camper!
My family calls it "soda".
Work has had me really stressed lately, but your podcasts and vlogs are always so peaceful and happy. I love it. I hope you never change that.❤
That pet containment system keeps your dogs in, but it doesn't keep predators out. ';D
The only problem with the unground fence is it keeps your dog in but it does not keep unwanted animals out. Your pups may not be safe.
My family in Virginia would drink "soda" in the "camper".
We are in Maine and would say the same thing!
Airstream is lux. The top of the line.
Awwww I loved how Jason gave you a kiss Brooke awww!!! You guys are such an adorable couple!!!
If you get a park model, you could sell it to someone who wants a tiny house 🤷♀️.
I think he's using it as his office for editing videos, etc.
Really enjoy watching your family and Nugget. Your child seems to be a very sweet human being. Lots of good times and good luck to your family.
We say “soda or soda pop” here in California. Coke only means Coca Cola here. 😀🥤
Michigan calls it all pop, too.
In the Eastern states, it’s soda.
I grew up with pop in Southern Ohio. Moved to Georgia where it is either Coke or soda.
In Australia we call it “Soft Drink”....( silly name, never thought about it until today!)🐨🙋🏻♀️
Ya see. You were meant to have this new farm. So many wonderful blessings have been sent your way, and it's wonderful to see how well things are going. I am so happy for y'all. It's going to be fun to see you move all the animals move over there. I wonder how Peaches and Nugget will take the move.
“What kind of coke do you want? We have Sprite, D Pepper and RC.”
Same lol. People made fun of me for it. I would ask "what kind of coke you want?" And someone would always say "coke is coke so why you asking?" Lol. I went most of my life misunderstood😂😂
Yeah, a Coke is a Coke. A pop can be Coke, Pepsi, Rootbeer, Mountain Dew, Sprite, Vernors.
Right there with y’all and everyone else😆
We sold our house on an acre in town, moved to our 22 acre land, bought a 5th wheel and living the life with our German Shepherd and English Bulldog.
We moved a 10x20 barn, 5 goats, 26 chickens and 2 rabbits.
Our kids are adults and not living with us and our daughter is keeping our African Gray parrot till our house is built.
We are also building a ‘barndominuum’. We have water, electricity, our driveway and house pad was done this week 😁
Foundation guy coming tomorrow! God bless you all on your journey!!!
PS-it’s always “coke” here in Texas
What would it take to fix the soft spot in the campground model if that's the one you really like.
Put the cover over it
In Canada a camper is something you put on the back of a pick up truck, a trailer is just a trailer that is hooked to your truck ball joint on the back of your truck bumper. We have POP or soft drinks.
I’m from Muskogee, Oklahoma, raised in Tulsa, and my family says Coke.
Tennessee says coke, too.
We live in our camper all summer and hauling blackwater away is hard work every 3 to 4 days, so hook up to sewer, but leave the valve closed until you need to empty to avoid any black tank pyramids, which will be the end of your black tank.
park models are NOT sought after.. they want RV'S that can travel
So the soft spot, not repairable? Wishing you all the best. Thank you for the smiles 😊
Why don't you rent a camper for a short getaway to see about the size you could deal with .. One girls opinion :-)
Ask Dutch about the dog collars, he has those for his German Shepherd s.
The dog wireless fence is great, but never forget the battery inside the collar. The flags are great for training .you control the shock and spaces
I think you will like the park model type better, with all the pets and MC having her own space😃Enjoying your new journey!
I cannot wait for y'all to get over there and start your new lives building your coops for your animals I'm so happy for y'all
We here in North Carolina, call it soda, as well. I've always found it funny about how different people all over America, call different things by different names. So funny!
One way you could save on the dryer is to hang clothes up on a line for now.
Good luck finding an RV that suits your family. GOD BLESS Y'ALL.
Put the washer dryer in the barn. Or watch Simple GoodLife in Idaho. She did her laundry outside, at least the washing. Filled it with buckets until they got the well. Good luck to you.❤️
Dutch has a cabin for an extra bath and the washers. You can bild a little cabin for the birds near MC window, another for the dogs and after all the bild a big barn over
PARK Trailer to live in while you fix up airstream to vacation in.😊 Bet MC would love a tween hangout she could use the finished airstream as Her Me Space😊
I am almost jealous of your home on wheels. It's gorgeous. You are blessed!
We use to rent campers for the weekend to go to national parks you might want to do that when you go to conferences. To see what you like. We also have a screen door with a doggie door could you build one to fit the camper door?
