Nearly 5 years since this video was released and it is difficult to believe that Lucy could ever improve upon this performance, but we all know that, at the age of 20, she could, if she decided to do so! 'Beautiful Ghosts' is a much underrated and appropriately haunting Andrew Lloyd Webber/Taylor Swift collaboration added to the movie version of 'Cats' - and it deserves so many more YT views than it has so far achieved! Thank you, Juliet, for reacting to this song and giving it the airing and critique that it deserves! 😄

Hi ya Juliet - Loved this reaction as usual. This song is from the film version of Cats with Taylor Swift in a cat role. What more can you say about Lucy that hasn't already been said and much of the 'saying' is from you with your incredible analysis. I learn something new every time. Please go even farther back in time with Lucy with some of her very earliest videos. I am not sure you have reacted to She Used To Be Mine - (From "Waitress" Musical) - this is a great song that also showcases her early vocal talents. Thanks for your continued support for Lucy and Lucy & Martha. Stay safe and healthy!

Thank you Juliet! What can you say! From her first professional video to her last, a truly exceptional talent! Nothing and I mean nothing can prepare you for her live performances! With her 8 standing ovations at her concert, I should have remained standing! It’s not just her voice but the emotion! We are truly blessed. Thank you for your great reaction and support of Lucy!

Thank you for this reaction Juliet, and thank you Patrick for requesting it also! I had made mention of it a while ago, and it must have gotten lost in the shuffle of compliments and admiration for Lucy. This is my secret favorite Lucy Thomas song/video. I'm drawn back to it sooo often and I just love it. So plaintive, and poignant, and pleading... all the good p-words I guess... and like everything she sings, it's not just a song, it's a performance, even at this young age. I may be responsible for half the views myself ha! Anyway, thank you again Juliet for the reaction and the commentary to this beautiful and under-heralded Lucy Thomas performance. You've mentioned a couple times now whether Lucy does any "pop" covers, and I think there may be only one in her channel library, from the same time period as Beautiful Ghosts in fact, kind off a country pop song: a Dan & Shay with Justin Bieber song called 10,000 Hours . I think that's about as poppy as Lucy gets. Take care and see you again soon! --Jon

Heĺlo Juliet! Wonderful reaction again and yes...Lucy was tremendous on her concert in Drury Lane London and I am still dreaming of this incredible evening. Every penny was worth to fly to see and hear her...as well as her great colleges and pianist and amazing orchestra.
And on top Martha was also a part of this unforgetable evening! What an explosion of all senses🎉
    Greetings from Germany,Juliet! 👍👏💐Andrea

Thank you for this analysis. Even though I've been listening to Lucy every day for the last 3 years, I'm still impressed by the beauty of her voice, her purity and her technique. For me, there is no equivalent on earth, only Lucy is capable of such a performance.

If this performance is not beautiful then beauty doesn't exist in this world, nothing else from me. Greetings and thanks Juliet for supporting Lucy and your analysis 👋

Hello Juliet, " Beautiful Ghosts " a beautiful cover by Lucy Thomas, Lucy made this cover 4 years ago it has such a high technical quality to this song & for Lucy there is no song she can't sing, she even sings in Japanese. Juliet, Lucy had her West End debut on the 22nd October at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane London. A quote from the critics review of the concert you can downlow this review on google Lucy Thomas Musical Theatre Review Theatre Royal Drury Lane 22nd October 2024. The first sentence of the critics review goes like this "Now and again, maybe only a handful of times in a lifetime you hear a voice so pure so effortlessly beautiful and powerful when it needs to be, it just gives you goosebumps." Lucy got a 5 star review for her performance she sang 21 songs 25 were sung in all she had 8 standing ovations. She was so happy to read & hear what everybody thought of the concert. Take care, Barbara.

Juliet, thank you for the really insightful and helpful post. What you teach us allows us to understand why we like Lucy so much. Her singing is obviously great, but you point out the subtleties that make a really good performance a great one. You are such a treasure! This is a gem that is very beautiful and moving by Lucy. Thank you again for taking the time to teach us some about the voice and singing.

🙂Thanks Juliet. This was a nice surprise. Not one of my favourites from her repertoire, but once she starts singing anything, it's impossible not to keep listening.

Hi Juiliet, torn jeans and a tee shirt?, you will see Lucy dressed in that style if you react to " She used to be mine" when Lucy was fifteen, a superb interpretation, you will love it im sure, Ian.

O my.. I am a bit surprised that you did not know this song from the musical 'Çats'. It is so, so beautiful and Lucy did it proud, absolutely. What also captures me: Lucy seems to be still somewhat shy here and is not looking towards the camera very often. And look at her now: an allround performer and a good one. And her voice is so warm and pleasant to listen to, even when she is belting out.

Those eyes are as gorgeous as her voice. She really is an angel. 😇 Would love for you to react to 'Starlight' and 'One Day', also from her younger days.

wonderful Juliet! Just FYI. This one was recorded in Lucy's home studio. England and London were on a COVID lock down and Lucy couldn't travel to her normal studio in London. I don't know the exact number but at least 6 or so were recorded at home. They all have the same background so they are easy to spot. Thanks for your spot on reaction and support for Lucy.

Interestingly, Jay, this video was released in Dec 2019, 3 months before the UK COVID lockdown, so maybe there was a premonition of what was to come! 🤔

Its a Taylor Swift Andrew Lioyd Webber composition and Taylor Swift recorded this for "Cats"

I suggested Lucy should sing this at the Drury Lane concert given that the Theatre Royal is reputed to be the most haunted theatre! The Theatre Royal is one of seven West End Theatres owned by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Yes, this looks like a special in many ways. She even looks a bit pale in this video. Never mind, I love her singing so beautifully.

This song was added in the movie " Cats". It does not belong to the original " Cats " musical. It is why so few people know this song. Lucy , as always, is awesome ♥️🥰👍.
About the video, I think it was at the beginning of the COVID.....
I think she did it at her home.🤔

anthonyl Yes I do believe you are correct as lucy recorded several of her early songs at home, you can tell by the drapes but this scene with the keyboard and candles is in several of her songs during that time. She has great equipment as seen in some of her early recordings, mainly one where her and Martha sing for a birthday outside a friends house, where it looked like Louise did the videoing, you see the equipment, and also some recorded in their family room at home.

Great reaction Juliet! Even at such a young age Lucy's voice was exceptional!
Please continue to react and play more of Lucy's earlier videos.
My favorite is: “I’LL NEVER LOVE AGAIN"; th-cam.com/video/4g1Qpu9XPL8/w-d-xo.html
At only age 15, Lucy’s emotional and powerful performance was even better than the original.
I promise you will be blown away.
    Enjoy! Hopelessly Addicted in Arizona

Apart from Lucy, no other "No Name" singer has ever managed to make me take such a long journey several times just to be able to experience her live. But every concert compensated me a hundred times for the travel strains and the costs.
After all these years, I still wonder how Lucy couldn't win the Voice Kids back then.
