Looking forward to this series
Thank you, I look forward to anymore Openbox videos.
Just installed Debian Testing last night. Feels like home again.
Looking forward to this series.
Thanks for these videos Drew I always enjoy your content and how you explain things - cheers
Glad you like them!
Didn't know the xfce4-appfinder. I just installed it. Much better than the original openbox menu.
Love Openbox as well. I’ve been using Debian Testing with LXQT and Labwc on Wayland and it’s been great. Labwc is Openbox inspired on Wayland.
I rarely comment but I've probably watched most of your videos! Luvin' this channel and I luv Debian and of course Openbox. Keep doing your thing JAG!
Ah, Openbox my first WM that I experienced back in the day with Crunchbang when I was transitioning to full time Linux from MacOS.
I want to tank you for your tutorial about btrfs+timeshift. I did it a little different but still your guide was the most useful to me.
Keyboard modes/keychords being part of Open box makes it a VERY powerful window manager. This window manager proves that maturity and completeness prevails.
I used FVWM for years and really had it tailored to my preferences. After a hiatus, I came back to it and found the menu doesn't really work anymore because my config depended on the Debian menu package. Back in the day all the other packages fed it, but they are no longer required to so they don't. At the moment I'm using Openbox within LXDE. It works but doesn't feel like home. Since I haven't found my new path yet, this series is of great interest to me. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing!
I've been running Openbox by itself and adding all the extras required to have a fully working interface. It has become the most convenient setup I've had in over 30 years of using computers. It takes time to set everything up at first, but copying them to a new install is all it takes to have all settings ready to use.
it's a good habit to use mkdir -p ...
Very nice indeed, well done.
Many thanks!
Yes openbox!... My first love 😢❤
Spectacular ,very clean desktop with the apps that you need, right for your eyes thanks
Glad you like it!
As always, I just can't decide btw Fedora or Debian. So, I just run with both.I recommend your channel to all my colleagues, who love building their environments from scratch. Love the channel and always learn something new.
Appreciate your recommendations!!
nice!! i'm a big fan/user of crunchbang++
Excellent distro!!
Same!! But I'm on vanilla Debian right now, otherwise my go to distro is always CB++
Great stuff, really❤❤❤❤
Nice video! Have you tried to generate your own Debian version using live-build?
In the back of my tiny mind, I did think about it. Never say never.
A reboot of DTs old Obscure WM Project??
Now that you mention it, I kind of remember that 😂.
Why do code letters appear blurry?
Up the volume on your mic next time please, because I can hardly hear you.
