Actually it plays a lot better than he tells you. He doesn't use the shoulder buttons that make the mech walk sideways. It makes things a LOT easier. :) Also I hoped to see the Precinct Assault mode which was in my opinion a lot more fun as it required some strategy.
Played this on my 4MB 3Dfx VooDoo 1 and 166MHz Intel Pentium MMX with 16MB of RAM back in the day. Tons of fun. Now I'm playing it on my Vita from time to time ;)
I never thought that PlayStation polygon graphics were good, even back then. Once PS1 got its share of sprite-based games, I was okay. I don't think polygon graphics really got good until the PS2.
This game was awesome when I was younger I conpleted the full thing and this was hard to do considering I was only 4 - 6 years old the multiplayer was the bee knees *red base captured by blue team*
I had a demo for PSX from a magazine back in the day. The PC port boxed copy seems to be rare and not cheap. I loved the lost era of isometric and overdhead perspective games like Gender Wars, C&C, Countdown, GTA etc. The demo (PSX) didn't move camera angle at all though it supported both split screen and serial cable independant multiplay. If I remember correctly the time limit on the single map provided in the demo was ~3 minutes for both bot and MP.
Terrible review for a fun game of it's time. Very few PS1 games hold up these days. Even Metal Gear Solid barely looks good and it was the pinnacle of that gaming era.
This game was fun as hell, i'd completely forgotten about it until now. You're right about the early 3D games ageing thing, most PS1 and N64 games look rough as shit nowadays whilst SNES games like Mario World and Mega Man X look awesome. A lot of PS2 games though still look pretty great, especially on a decent HD tv.
I bought this on PSN for 5 and I like it. I never agreed with this dudes reviews and don't miss him. This game was fucking so sick. Best 5 I spent this month.
Not a very informative review. Future Cop is an extremely underappreciated gem, and there's much more to it than what's explained in this video. Didn't even mention that X1-A can transform into a hover-car. Not many PS1 games have aged well, but I find that this one has aged well in terms of controls. Despite some flaws in the camera, the game controls very well, and it's hardly a problem to navigate difficult terrain if you know the controls, which this reviewer clearly doesn't. Also completely ignored the multiplayer mode, which was the best part of the game. I don't think this guy played it for more than 15 minutes.
Sky captain is unstoppable, oh you again , only a flesh wound, I live again, nooooo, your really begging to annoy me, let me introduce you to my little friends. Ace game.
I loved this game, should have shown the multilayer. You could play against the AI... it was an amazing strategy mode. Both sides had a base and each could build tanks, helicopters, a elite tank and bomber. You could take gun turrets, more production halls and find special weaponry. It had more class than the single player.
I'm not exactly sure but I think this was the first game i ever played, ahh the memories Me and my brother played the multiplayer ALOT back then, for as simple as it is, it's so much of a good time
I don't get Derek's stance. By '98, 3D graphics had already started to look pretty damn decent. I mean, MGS came out a year before that and it's one of the best-looking games on the PS1. And Future Cop looks quite good too. Okay yeah, 5th gen consoles started off with games that looked very unpleasant aesthetics-wise, but that's like '94/'95 shit we're talking about. After that, games started to look decent/good. 6th gen is when games started to look fantastic though. They still looked very obviously like videogames, but everything was possible as far as creative and original aesthetics went. Games could have more personality and complexity than ever before. (and after, really, as we'd find out.) 7th gen was nothing but a graphical update, nothing new was achieved. In fact, the only thing it did really was kill off most creativity in the videogame industry. Same goes for the 8th gen that we're in right now.
Wow, you say that the fifth generation of gaming hasn't aged well, yet you said that The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time is the best game of all time. Am I the only one who finds that insanely hypocritical!?
describe how the controls are "moving a mech feels like, moving a mech" what the heck kinda review is this? im sorry, but this guys' review is not informative or helpful, his jokes are not funny, and i dont know why his review always comes up on top, maybe coz of the cgr name.

Yeah I was thinking both of those things too, I used to love this game, in fact I’m gonna play it again this week now I’ve watched this video 😂

Why u no strafe, AND WHY NOT SHOW SKYCAPTAIN?!
such a great game, especially precinct assault mode, wish the game had sequels
This game is already a sort-of-sequel to the Strike series, so maybe you could try stuff like Soviet Strike or Nuclear Strike.
Single player was good, but the multiplayer was amazing.
This was the final (spiritual) game in the Strike series. That's why it's good.
This game blew my mind as a kid! Really great game at the time.
Back then this one of the very best. Up there with driver.
I used to love this game when I was a kid! Wonderful times I've had with this.
man i remember spending so much time playing this with my dad back in the day! Great game
I loved this game. nostolgasm.
Was this guy aware that you can transform? I didn't see him do it or mention it once in the review.
+Xblade1X Don't think he played more than one level tbh.
I think that's what he meant by saying that the mech you're piloting is like Optimus Prime.
I plaw that game a long time ago, that was awesome.
Played this on my 4MB 3Dfx VooDoo 1 and 166MHz Intel Pentium MMX with 16MB of RAM back in the day. Tons of fun. Now I'm playing it on my Vita from time to time ;)
Thanks! I appreciate the long cuts of gameplay - quite rare for reviews and has helped me appreciate this maybe ain't for me.
this and tiny tank are the two games that i wished had kept going i tell ya i'd still buy em
Oh my god I played this as a kid with my older brother, we loved this game.
One of my favorite hidden gems - couldn't put the controllers down the first weekend
me and my dad had so much fun with that game when i was young. i still have it :)
2015 and I still play this game on my PS2 :) , is so fucking awesome and now I am gonna download it for my PS3 :D

Loved this back in the day. Precinct assault was the whole game for me
Used to play this game sooooooo much on the PC back in the day :D
Favorite game when I was a kid.
This game was fun as hell, i'd completely forgotten about it until now.

this game brings back childhood memories...
This game plays best in co op and the special bug levels one of my fav games
Wished you show the multiplayer part of the game. I don't like the story mode, the Tower Defence, multiplayer game is friggen kickass

I remember playing this game, it was very bad, but had lots of fun.
The first game that I ever played, and I'm glad to see it's aged well (more or less.) I plan on buying it from the PSN soon.
you know that you can go sideway right ? one of the freaking best ps1 games ever

Presinct Assault was such a good game mode, moba before moba was actually a thing.
I'm not exactly sure but I think this was the first game i ever played, ahh the memories
Me and my brother played the multiplayer ALOT back then, for as simple as it is, it's so much of a good time
I have spent many many hours playing this game. I think its one of the best games for the Playstation.
that was one of my favorite games ever
I'm sure there was a versus mode that was the best
+Dom Carson right in the money. It has an annoucer commentating the matches.
"WHERE ARE YOUUUUUUU?"
+Martín Enemigo HaHa oh yeah I remember that voice "Aaargh"
+Martín Enemigo wasnt a narrator, it was the enemy npc
You are right!
So future cop is just a game based on ed 209 from robocop.
Review chocobo's dungeon 2
this is one of the first ps1 games i really enjoyed.

dint evne know this game was on ps (played it on pc)
I just picked this up for £1 today, I'm pretty excited to put it on and go destroy some shit
one of the best ps1 games ever.
Simpel games can be very good to sometimes ^.~
You watch your mouth young man..Or else it's a soap bar for you!!
Well any pre-duelshock PS1 games haven't aged well.
this is originally a PC game that runs better on PC than playstation.
Multiplayer was the best part.
recuerdo bien que Nivel X reseñaba este juego cada por 2 X 3 XD
There is one type of game that aged worse than early 3D. FMV games...
EA's rocking shooter takes a turn for the good. Bad guys beware!
Come on man you didn’t show precinct assault game mode or anything lol horrible review. This game was the first MOBA
Wow, you say that the fifth generation of gaming hasn't aged well, yet you said that The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time is the best game of all time. Am I the only one who finds that insanely hypocritical!?
that game looks like shit lol it’s still a good game though
going back in the days, this was the shit pvp
OMG dat nostalgia
