Nothing interests me more than the similarity between the folk/classical musics of people all over the world, and Uyghur music is closer to a kind of universal music than anything I've ever heard. It sounds Turkic, Arabic, Indian, East Asian, Slavic, even like American bluegrass or Irish reels...it sounds more like everything than anything I've ever heard.
I agree with you my friend. probebly you explained the best what it is that keep me listening uyghur music every day on you tube. Enter word Mirajihan and listen that song..it is one of my favorite.
the hungarian language got a lot of finno-ugric influence, but the bases is from somewhere there, mongolian lands...a lot of uyghur words met with the hungarian words: like alma=alma ,kakukk=kakukk, oroszlan=arslan (lion).and etc.
I just hope that uygurs will soon be free from china and that their spirit gona fly up on the wings of freedom like this beautiful sound of pleyer that freely fly through the fields and mountains of uyguristan, and bring to worl uygurs cultural velues which are hiden from the world for centuries by chinas occupiers.
If you looking for that line in the music after you here Mirajihan please enter the titel Bosna-Sa gradacca bijele kule...and here that song and powerful voice of Safet Isovich a legend of Bosnian sevdalinka(love) music.I am sure you will find relation with Uyghur music.
I see on weatherforecast maps that springtime has come in Uyghuristan but I would like to see springtime of political movement of people of Uyhuristan to strougle for independence from evil China.
This is a long time later, but the musician was Nurmuhemmet Tursun. May he Rest in Peace. He was phenomenal. This song is called Äjäm - it's one of the 12 muqam suites. Here is more info about him: www.uyghurensemble.co.uk/en-html/en-art-nurmemet-tursun.html
@kuruptxxx ; Turk is a genetical characteristic, it is like saying 'European' or Chinese. Within are a caleidoscope of other ethnics. magyars are NOT SLAVIC AT ALL, we do not speak slavic nor write cyrilic. The anthropological features of a magyar is various, some look like chinese because of Asian ancestry, some look like Middle eastern because of their migrations and others are blond like me and I have a french Canadian accent because I lived in Quebec, Canada. We are not Romans either! STUDY!
greetings from tw :-D what a shame that after Tang dynasty, chinese cultural interaction with neighbors in the west have declined as such...it's worthy more attention than western pop :-p
It amazes me how virulent the comments can be on the Internet. We have this database of many interesting or wonderful clips (such as this one)for the delight of everyone, only to provoke scorn, bitterness, contempt and hatred. Why?
