    Cult of personality is a really catchy song. I can't get it out of my head.

      That would be a surprise on par with or surpassing that of the return of the Hardys at WM33. Never say never but, I reckon Phil Brooks is happy to leave those CM Punk memories behind him.

    how much does the ticket cost

    • @Memonade
      @Memonade  10 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I think I got mine for between $150-$200. I think that's what the prices were for the Superdome in New Orleans (WrestleMania XXX) as well. MetLife Stadium (WrestleMania 29) was a bit more expensive though, as it was based near New York City where things tend to be more pricey than most other places in the US

      Highly unlikely, at least that's the impression I get from Punk; that said: "never say never" in WWE. Though if I had to pick a surprise No. 30 for the 2020 Royal Rumble, given recent rumours, I'd go with another highly rated superstar (channel your inner Tony Chimel) being the likelier candidate.

    Before wwe became cringe

    • @Memonade
      @Memonade  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Was quite cringe during this period too. Feel as though WrestleMania prior to the 25th anniversary was an event that held this impeccable reputation. Very few Manias have held up to that reputation since 2008. Shows have gone on too long and their long-term storytelling has either been absent and the narratives fallen in quality altogether.

    • @mixwb
      @mixwb 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Memonade You are right. It was pretty cringe here but at least they still had some good rivalries and storylines (mostly with the ones with CM Punk).
      To me the current era of WWE from around 2014 to now is way more cringe to the point where it bores me to death to even watch the Top 10 RAW moments every week

    • @Memonade
      @Memonade  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mixwb I would have to agree with you too. I had made up my mind to quit watching after WrestleMania 27, but then they gave Christian the World Heavyweight Championship and that brilliant feud with Randy Orton began soon after. And of course, Punk dropped the pipe bomb.
      Their biggest problem, I'm afraid, is their unwillingness to take risks, and if they do, not to go back on those by doing something to return things to a prior status quo. As such things have seemed stuck for the most part to 5 years ago; same main events, same recycled stories. NXT has been the only saving grace during this period, allowing the likes of the 4 Horsewomen to emerge, and the Shinsuke Nakamuras to surface, and the Drew McIntyres to resurface - that's not including those in NXT today that provide for excellent stories. Thankfully they're still there rather than lost in the shuffle of Raw and SmackDown!'s mediocrities.

    • @mixwb
      @mixwb 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Memonade NXT is the best thing going today no doubt.
      One major problem I think they have is if they are trying to be kid friendly then don't go and show blood, sexual references, swearing, etc.
      Either make a show for adults or a show for kids.

    • @Memonade
      @Memonade  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mixwb Absolutely. And I think they have made that decision clear; catering to a younger demographic. Whereas they've either taken the older generation that grew up during the Monday Night War/Attitude and/or Ruthless Aggression Eras for granted or we have simply stuck by our loyalties to WWE's brand despite our grievances. And I'm okay with them not producing a show heavy on profanity or sexual references and what have you, so long as the narratives are compelling, and that to me has been the key missing ingredient. Either the work put out by the storytellers has been underwhelming or the stories themselves have not been interesting (e.g. the Lana/Lashley/Rusev program).

    Dissapointing match

    • @Memonade
      @Memonade  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hmm, could have been much better - just something about the whole build up to the match as well that felt off. They should have had Jericho win the Royal Rumble and build from there. Rather than have him meander upon his return and then also get beat like everyone else in the Elimination Chamber match a month prior. Sorry not beat, given their 'smart booking decision' of finding a way to get him out of the match without suffering an elimination. Just another example of their poor storytelling planning and execution.
