It was a guy taking what he learned from WWE and combining it with independent wrestling to make something knew. In his own words he’s the “perfect wrestler” hes a blend between incredible indie wrestling and the attitude of sports entertainment. He’s blended those two opposites so seamlessly. To create something magical. Sorry if non of that made sense 😅.
Cody played Stardust like a champ though even though it was stupid.. lol.. Sill though, part of the reason he left in the first place was to reinvent himself and he did that when he went to NJPW and joined the Bullet Club and became the American Nightmare.. It's something he has even talked about when he left the WWE, the indies allowed him to reinvent.. It has been amazing for Dustin and it's why I don't think Dustin is done with it yet..

This was awesome. I’ve always been into WWE but recently just casually been starting to get into AEW. I enjoy both. I think it’s always good that people can go work and make money somewhere. I saw the Hardy’s return live and it’s the loudest pop I’ve ever heard. I wasn’t there live for this but it sounds like it beat the Hardy’s. Just a stellar job by WWE making this feel like a huge deal. Hope this can lead to a title run for Cody eventually. It may take some time to get there but I feel like just as Drew did it Cody will get a run. This overall was one of the better Wrestlemanias in a long time.

Now every Cody entrance, even in RAW shows, is a guaranteed big pop and he's the major face of the company, absolutely deserved!
Often when people upload raw videos like this they'll say "ignore me singing in the background" This dude's singing made the video 10x better. Feels so genuine and authentic
If you've followed cody carefully in AEW, he helped create AEW to "stick it to WWE", where omega/bucks/tony saw AEW as an opportunity to make the wrestling environment fun again for both viewers and competitors. Cody wants to make his father proud, and fulfill the american dream of winning the wwe title. RAW promo was from the heart. Wasn't thrilled he left aew, but you can't hate a guy for wanting to be the best version of himself he can. Even now as he sits injured and waiting to recover, he knows that Vince respects tough guys and the fact that he went out there the way he did after his pec injury, he’s going to be rewarded when he comes back. Cody Rhodes is a future WWE/Universal Champion and he’s had a hell of a run getting there.

The only bigger were when Edge came back at the Rumble a couple of years ago and when Stone Cold came out to face Kevin Owens on this very same night. But this one gave me chills when Mike Rome made the announcement. It REALLY became real that Cody had left AEW and gone back to the E.
