I don't have a problem with this ship. The dispersion isn't the best, but overall its possibly in my top 10 for ships in the entire game (owning most of them). There are one or two games once in a while which aren't great but other than that I'll struggle to do badly in the ship.
I'd like to see Richelieu - Jean Bart's less attractive sister. Seems like my results are one extreme or the other and I'd love to be more consistent. I either die horribly and do 50k or less, or roll everyone and do 150k+. I really like the "heavy cruiser flanking BB" play style though.
This ship was actually one of my favorites when it came out, I would just go nose and wreck everything within 7kms. That said it could of been nerf in the last year, idk I haven't been playing.
I love my Kron. Maybe my most played ship. Usually go in with DD and try to waste the enemy DD with radar. Health pool is enough to take the early beating. Main reason I play her is that Kron has nearly the same credit buff as Missouri. I have both and I can’t tell which is a better credit earner. Why does nobody talk about how amazing the credit earning is on this ship?
"nearly the same credit buff" Missouri has a 40% base credit boost, Kronshtadt has 10%, just like every other tier 9. That would be why nobody talks about it, because it is exactly the same as any other tier 9, so why play Kronshtadt when you could play Alaska, or even Agir? The only ships with better raw credit earning potential are any premium you've purchased a Makoto Kobyashi camo on before the economic rework, as they have a 45% boost vs. Missouri's 40%. But that's only on specific ships, the most popular being Kii and Roma. But at the end of the day, credit earning comes down to how good you do. If you average 50k damage in Missouri, but 150k damage in Marlborough, you're going to get more credits in Marlborough despite Missouri's increased potential (assuming you had Missouri from back in the day to even get the 40% boost anyways). But you're still going to get more out of Missouri over nearly any other ship, assuming you can do about as well in it as those other ships.
@@SakuraShade I'm talking about the base credit earning that's baked in to the hull. Not the visible % bonus you can see. The built in earnings are crazy on this ship, which allows you to maximize those credit bonuses. Did you notice the nearly 1 mil credits PQ got for less than 50k damage in the vid? I have had games where I've done less than 10k dmg and I still earn 500-600k credits with a 160% bonus. Any reasonable game is easily 1mil or over with the same bonus.
@@wcolwil You do realize that they never gave a ship a similar bonus to Missouri right? That was half the reason they introduced Musashi, they wanted less people going after Missouri because of how easily it prints money. Kron came after Musashi, and has the same credit coefficient. Every tier 9 premium, including the new version of Missouri, has that same coefficient. He’s running a blue credit booster, you can still get a million credits in a decidedly average or below average game with a blue booster. Any premium can do it. Throw a red one on and you can probably get a million credits by auto piloting your ship through the center of the map. It’s designed to make you pay for boosters. The ship itself isn’t special, it’s the magic booster in the background that costs money doing all the work. I’m not telling you not to play Kron, if you like it and it works for you then great, that’s the point of buying a ship in this game. But in terms of credit earning potential, it’s just the same as any other tier 9 premium, bar the old Missouri, which has the same exact coefficient now, it’s old boost was baked into the new economic system, hence why I brought it up. The background coefficients are the same, tier for tier, across the board. Anybody with an old Missouri got the coefficient baked in, just as anybody with a Kobyashi camo got that bonus baked in to the new system. Missouri has 5% less boost than the Kobyashi camos, but it’s tier 9 so it’ll make more than a tier 8 or 7, so again in terms of raw output, Missouri, Roma, and Kii are your best options assuming you can perform the same in them. Getting 100k damage in Missouri, and 100k damage in literally any other ship, Missouri will win every time assuming you had it back in the day. If you didn’t, then Missouri is quite literally the same as any other tier 9 premium, and it’s just down to whatever your favorite happens to be, and what color booster you’re running.
It’s quite unfortunate to see you struggle in Kronshtadt and truly believe it is horrible. Personally it is one of my favorite ships and I have had a lot of fun in it. But it is with this and many anecdotes I have with my clanmates about various ships that it truly shows that not every ship is for everyone. I have friends struggle with ships I think are great, and I struggle with ships I know are amazing. Sorry to see you have a not fun time in a ship I very much love to play.
I want to see how you play the Wooster. AA/Radar build. With a bit of armour and the swiss army knife way it works in a lot of situations it can be deadly.
im happy that i saw that. I was thinking that Kronshtadt is stalingrad at IX with worse armor aa etc. but from what i saw here? damn and i thought that Malborough is shotgun
Request: Abruzzi The Kronshtadt used to be good when it was the only super cruiser, but that was a long time back. The issue has always been that the accuracy is poor to absolutely terrible. The guns needs to be more accurate, end of story. There isn't a clever fix, the guns are fine (and just fine) shooting BBs with AP when broadside and that's it. Radar helps your teammates, but don't count on helping much with your guns.
Hey PQ, love your stuff. While you're correct on your dispersion assessment, I would argue you're playing the ship incorrectly - the kron is not the Stalingrad nor a DM, it does not want to be next to an island. You should use it to tank BBs, it ricochets most everything when angling and shatters lots of HE. You can commonly get above 3mil potential without Kutnesov. Play roving and hunting citadels, similar to the Agir. You should not be using HE more than 5% of the time. Disclaimer: I play largely solo with the Kron and have a 69% WR with it over 300 games.
Sorry I recommended this ship. I would recommend giving it some more time. It’s definitely a ship that can grow on you once you find a way to get it to tick right. Definitely try it out in t9 ranked, where I would say it has a lot more battle impact. Either way, thank you for at least giving it a spin. o7 As someone who has played several hundred games in the Kronstadt both in randoms and ranked, I can say that Kron can either feel insanely overpowered, more so than alaska, and other moments leave you wondering if all you have is a really hard to kill cruiser… that just got citadelled at range through the stern again, really?!. Her inconsistent guns are the most painful thing about her as your video shows. Though her funnest aspects that always kept me coming back was how hard she is to kill and how hard those guns hit when they connect even against battleships. Kron shells are not dodged, they need to miss. In the right scenario you can go toe to toe with battleships and laugh through the entire engagement, as at most, they will do to you as much as you are doing to them per salvo. This ship can get into really aggressive positions that will force the enemy to either respect her guns or get spanked when the guns do connect. I have found success in targeting larger vessels than I would in the other super cruisers. Getting into positions to get broadsides on cruisers and especially battleships (yes I know targeting just juicy big ships hurts your battle impact). Using radar mod to get up to 30sec of radar, light up dds for the team as anything with smaller guns than Kron will use it better. Unless you find a smoked cruiser, generally the radar is not for you to use. Just some random thoughts. Still appreciated the video and thank you for at least trying it.
recently got this ship from a supercontainer, man.....its been painful to learn to play, but the times it does work from range burning stuff and ap citting people at 12k have made some stupid good creds.
Back in the day when she was released I liked but never loved the Kroncake. She always fell just a little short whether it was her hitting power or tankiness. I would never take her out in the current meta.
I don't think I've played the Kronshtadt in years but I had very good games with it back in the day. I got several krakens in ranked with Kronshtadt but like with most ships in the game they have their day and then get quickly power crept
Kron is all or nothing for me. Either ates all the dmg from everywhere, or tanks a lot. Either makes 10k salvos on BB broadsides, or you need to pray for some hit at least. Love/hate relationship for me :D
Kronshtadt is my favourite ship. If you find the gun dispersion a problem, you are not close enough to the enemy. I have had 6+ citadels in two broadsides on Yamato/Musashi on numerous occasions.

Request: HSF Harekaze (not the Harekaze II) As far as the Kron, it has troll dispersion. Most times it's horrid. But from time to time you'll get a great salvo and think "maybe I'm learning how to aim these guns'. And they it will go back to horrible. It is good if you have a mission to get potential damage.
I've been having the same luck with dispersion all week on the new brit BB line. Good aim but shells land behind and in front and whatever hits is an overpen or a bounce.
I do like my Kron, especially shines in T9 ranked. I played a lot of Moskva in clan battles and Kronstadt has similar velocity but gimped range and dispersion. That said, you must angle, use HE and only use AP on broadside. It'll citadel BBs all day when broadside. You definitely didn't take full advantage of its HE in those videos. Give it another chance!
i just got this ship and i had quite a good matches with it but damn now am i suffering :( do you have any tips/guides i really like the ship and i wanna play it as i am so bored with BBs
To be fair, dispersion was trolling you. I get great dispersion in mine. It's not a bad ship, but it's definitely not a DD hunter - it fires too slowly, and it's too big. I use mine to decimate cruisers (with both AP and HE - gotta know when that overpen mechanic will troll you and switch), and broadside BBs. I must also mention that I haven't played it in months, but I enjoy the ship nonetheless when I do. Also, surprisingly, your aim was off on several salvos.
The guns take getting used to and yeah the pen on the ap is weird. Can be really good in some situations. Its just worse than Alaska. Alaska is good in all situations really. KROHN just sucks against gunboats dds when Alaska is just terrifying for a DD. I play this at range more like a French cruiser, the armor is troll for bbs and it keeps me from getting he spammed to death. The dispersion is so bad up close that it really doesn't help to be close, and the ap is more likely to arm at long range. I get a lot of cits... and tank a lot and save the radar to close out games. One of the main reasons not to camp in krohn is that you are so juicy for a carrier. No AA huge target and you arm ap bombs.
Request: GK (fun build), non secondary build, 3rd slot use main guns accurancy, 6th slot use range mod, it became a lower accurancy Montana but faster shell velocity and beter pen.
If Kuznetsov is broken. What's Lutgens? God Tier? You can easily play a game without triggering anything on Kuz. And he has laughable passive buffs. Lutgens can easily pop three buffs in one game. Two that permanently increase damage output. And one that heals. He also has passive buffs for grease the gears and prevent maintenance. This Russian bias thing is really getting old. This isn't 2017.
The entire "large cruiser" thing is strange. Not exactly battlecruiser armor, slow reload time, one minute burn time.
That said it could of been nerf in the last year, idk I haven't been playing.
....could HAVE been nerfed...
Power creep made it worse it used to be a decent ship.
It really is busted my friend got this out of a new years container a while back and even bad games and losses it still prints credits like crazy
This is the Kremlin experience. They took away its guns, and destroyed a piece of gaming heritage.
Vandals.
Ship Request: Congress. Still can't figure that mini Alaska out.
ship request: Amagi
Not gonna lie PQ, this video was highly entertaining.
im happy that i saw that. I was thinking that Kronshtadt is stalingrad at IX with worse armor aa etc.
but from what i saw here? damn and i thought that Malborough is shotgun
Request: Abruzzi
The Kronshtadt used to be good when it was the only super cruiser, but that was a long time back.
Dude, you don't have the dispersion mod put on
Hey PQ, love your stuff.
If you're interested in replays on the Kron, feel free to HMU.
Ship request: try to get Kitakami, never seen one before
That ship doesn't exist in game anymore. Noone has it
i would like to see the kearsarge in action, thinking of picking it up
I average 150k dmg in this. 85% wr. It's busted in randoms.
Sorry I recommended this ship. I would recommend giving it some more time. It’s definitely a ship that can grow on you once you find a way to get it to tick right. Definitely try it out in t9 ranked, where I would say it has a lot more battle impact. Either way, thank you for at least giving it a spin. o7
As someone who has played several hundred games in the Kronstadt both in randoms and ranked, I can say that Kron can either feel insanely overpowered, more so than alaska, and other moments leave you wondering if all you have is a really hard to kill cruiser… that just got citadelled at range through the stern again, really?!.
Request: Borodino to do a sense of change.
A return of the Fletcher would be nice :) An old ship but it'd be interesting to see you play her again.
Actually love the Fletcher - for me it's the purest "destroyer" in the game...
@@tomriley5790 my favorite has always been the Kidd..
recently got this ship from a supercontainer, man.....its been painful to learn to play, but the times it does work from range burning stuff and ap citting people at 12k have made some stupid good creds.
Wait till tier 9 ranked comes back, lord knows when, as she can be pretty good in it.
Back in the day when she was released I liked but never loved the Kroncake. She always fell just a little short whether it was her hitting power or tankiness. I would never take her out in the current meta.
It was not over penning the dispersion would not matter so much, its the OPens that are effectively nerfing this ship into the ground.
Request: Mikasa full secondary
I don't think I've played the Kronshtadt in years but I had very good games with it back in the day. I got several krakens in ranked with Kronshtadt but like with most ships in the game they have their day and then get quickly power crept
Kron is all or nothing for me. Either ates all the dmg from everywhere, or tanks a lot. Either makes 10k salvos on BB broadsides, or you need to pray for some hit at least. Love/hate relationship for me :D
Well glad to know it is not just me LOL
Kronshtadt is my favourite ship. If you find the gun dispersion a problem, you are not close enough to the enemy. I have had 6+ citadels in two broadsides on Yamato/Musashi on numerous occasions.
We feed upon your tears. Request: Italian DD Tarigo
Requests: St Vincent with Brisk and Expert Marksman survival build
Kleber with full concealment BFT/AFT/EM build
October Revolution full survival build
Shimakaze full gunboat build
Keep up the great work PQ!
Request: HSF Harekaze (not the Harekaze II)
As far as the Kron, it has troll dispersion. Most times it's horrid. But from time to time you'll get a great salvo and think "maybe I'm learning how to aim these guns'. And they it will go back to horrible. It is good if you have a mission to get potential damage.
I thought Alaska was bad. But this dispersion is beyond terrible.
Edit: I just checked, it does have actual BB dispersion.
I've been having the same luck with dispersion all week on the new brit BB line. Good aim but shells land behind and in front and whatever hits is an overpen or a bounce.
Lol I love your attitude in this one. What a bad ship!! You made it look easy tho :p
Still asking for Alsace. A Krohnstadt will have a pleasant dispersion in comparison to a Alsace 😊
Nelson. Especially as a contrast to your Collingwood video.
Ship Request: Scharnhorst. Play her like you want to, I just want to check if I got a broken one or if the dispersion is really that bad.
Request: the greatest and oldest brawler of them all, Mikasa.
That ship is meant for close up encounters I've topped 200k with it.
Fenyang, the pre-buff Akizuki that is also nerfed. Little AP monster though.
my most favorite and most played ship. its an overpen machine XD
Please cover the best Research Bureau ships!
Request: GK (fun build), non secondary build, 3rd slot use main guns accurancy, 6th slot use range mod, it became a lower accurancy Montana but faster shell velocity and beter pen.
Request: Texas in honor of her getting her much needed touch up
Ship request you'll never do: Yahagi
Plz play Iowa, she gets overshadowed by Georgia a lot but she has her own advantages that people don't seem to be aware of.
I had to play Kronstadth over hundreds of matches on CBs some time ago. I hate it so insanely hard!
I have a 61% win rate in Kron over 80 games (higher than my average), I always manage to have fun in her haha.
The best reason to never ever touch a ship is when even PQ is frustrated about it.
I have some of them (Alaska, Yoshino, Aegir and i'm NOT taking the Puerto Rico) but i don't use them often.
Request: Staliniumgrad (compared to Marseille's 330 mm guns). Is that one still worth it?
I’d like to see Bayard or Mainz
Kron is definitely not a dd hunter, and indeed long practice is needed for aiming properly.
But that said it's not a bad ship, like you said you just don't like it. I don't like Alaska and my games with it would look like yours with the kron. Kron is definitely my first choice for a t9 radar in ranked, and my last resort when I need to get à star
well, stop comparing it to light cruisers dpm. If it had that dpm and it's 75k health and stronger armor it would be a tier 14 ship.
Ship request : Champagne, because absolutly nobody remember this thing
Now I see why I never see this ship in game.
Ship request: Mahan T7 US DD. Also tips where to put the bonus T7 packages now that they are giving them out in the anniversary event.
