If the strut kit was one of the eBay overseas kits I'd be careful trying to use the supplied struts especially on that carbon hood. I was going to use it on mine but the supplied struts were way too strong/pressurized. You'd end up bending the hood trying to close it with them installed so I never ended up using it. Car looks sweet with that vented hood.
It looks good. I know you said you're not sure if you wanna color match but if I may, why not wrap it? It's black, it's already the perfect color to wrap it. Maybe a wrap color similar to your old Rolla

Just hear say on my part, but I’ve been eyeing up a carbon hood for my Focus ST and I’m using struts on my oem hood atm. Might be hit or miss, also seen some struts with carbon hoods on the car for over a year without failure....so who knows. lol looks great on the GR thou.

What are the hood weights?
Always my understanding is you never use hydraulic hood struts on carbon fiber, could cause stress cracks over time.
