It’s heartbreaking what happened to them-evil can strike without warning. When I was their age, I remember riding my bike alone on a trail that led into a dark tunnel. Just as I neared the end, up ahead a man suddenly stepped out in onto the path with his arms stretched wide. I hit the brakes, turned around, and pedaled home as fast as I could! I never rode my bike alone on the path again.
Wouldn't it be easier if parents recommenced the valuable practice of reading their young children the tale of "Little Red Riding Hood"? It is supposed to teach them an invaluable life lesson. This is not the way the world should be but sadly it is the way it is. Glad that you survived
I'm an elder, and I can remember sketchy situations that we used to be able to do. In the summer we'd hop on our bikes, pack a lunch, and take off on our bikes. Never alone, but still vulnerable enough. I don't think it ever occurred to our parents that bad things could happen. By the time I became a parent, I was more protective and if my kids rode their bikes in the neighborhood, I sat in the yard. I never allowed them to ride all over town. I don't know why I was so much more protective of them than my parents were, it just seemed evident that the world had changed.
Went there today. Walked across the Freedom Bridge to the start of the trail, but the route to the Monon Bridge was closed. Went in front of the cemetery, also. Only person out there, & definitely got the creeps. Very unsettling experience to say the least.
I can just picture them laughing and joking around, not even thinking the evil that is lurking around even exists. Not a care in the world, innocently teasing about Abby talking to boys on snap… maybe even the excitement of finally meeting your dreamy boy with a sports car. Older mysterious, Abby asking herself how this guy can even be interested in her, will he really come, Libby trying to reassure her she’s amazing no matter what this guy thinks. Both so innocent of what lays in wait for them… it breaks my heart.
Thank you for posting this and giving a clear picture. I had heard testimony saying it only takes 9 minutes to walk there. That clearly isn't the case it took 19 minutes. The case has been misrepresented since RA's arrest. You're right they should have never touched the bridge until after the trial.
Hello, and thank you for this video ……. it really makes a difference when you took us on this walk, step-by-step instead of seeing it on a short footage….. and I’ve never seen the memorial for the girls before ………. anyway, thank you very much………… kim🇬🇧
Thank you for this video. I visited the area and walked the bridge in 2019. I took a break from the case in 2022 until the trial. I knew the bridge had been changed but this is my first time seeing it. I think if Allen had been arrested early they would have left the bridge intact through trial. Instead when I walked the bridge in November 2019 they already had cranes out there making changes to the pillars
I remember driving down I65 going from Wisconsin to Alabama I though about exiting and going for a small drive to see for myself for some reason FEAR overtook me I am not a fearful person but a very strong intuition wouldn’t allow me. This was on April and June of 2022 it amazes me seeing these videos ❤
Abby and Libby would be very happy knowing this beautiful trail in these beautiful woods are being preserved and used for something good. Richard Allen or whomever else committed these horrible disgusting cowardly attacks doesn't possess even a tiny fraction of the love and joy and nature on that trail. God bless them.
In the face of something so horrible it can be very comforting to fill that void with happy images and thoughts. I picture the project completed and the case over and a few years down the road, 2 other little girls (best friends) walking the bridge, even walking down the hill, to the creek, so they can take selfies together and skip rocks and talk about boys they like in school. I guess I'm getting softer inside in my age (40) because it makes me teary eyed even typing this. Sometimes we forget these "true crime cases" (which have become entertainment to so many now with ID channel, podcasts on yt, etc) are actually something that really happened and it's important to at LEAST not let this beautiful part of nature (and it is if you've been there or seen vids of it) fall victim to the killer also. Abby and Libby will be able to live on thru preserving this.
We have a better understanding of the layout thanks to your video !! That old part of the bridge is scary 😨 and looks dangerous to cross with no rails to hold on to !! God bless those girls and their families.
Indiana is putting in these blacktop walking & riding bike trails all throughout Indiana. Especially in Clark & Floyd County along the Banks of the Ohio River. They do need to put some light's in them.
Why? To more fully destroy the sensation of being in the countryside and in wild nature? As the song tells us "They paved Paradise and put up a parking lot". People have no business going to such places unless prepared. It is no place for single grown women and certainly not even for small groups of young girls. Even a grown man would be sensible to take a weapon, even a stick, and a useful dog. Welcome to the real world, sometimes it's a terrifying place. Would you let your daughter wander alone in downtown Chicago at midnight?
This is the best video from start to finish that I have viewed. I was stunned when you showed where the girls were dropped off. It was a more desolate spot than I had imagined. Thank you for a relaxing look at a place that will forever be known for its tragic history. On a side note...they could've sprung for a couple non-coin operated type binoculars on the bridge.
@@exoticprairie To me, where the girls were dropped off, it's just a spot off the road that's it. We have a national park here. The areas to enter trails are a lot larger and open.
Thanks for the view. I think the lot is from older meeting, but might be how something was missed in this case. However remnants of a further back case really seems to cross my mind.. finding a lady's sweater in a place similar.., maybe a watch or something..maybe not though. Too many cases 1970ish. smaller cross bridge with natural setting.
As nurse for 12 years I am used to observing peoples gait. It tells you alot about their health or lack of health. When I watch the man on bridge a few things come to mind: 1) he has labored gait 2) he does not look in shape 3) he looks 40-50's and slightly overweight from waist up (legs actually appear slim in his jeans). I still have a hard time believing the bridge man could scale down from bridge to area under bridge, cross a creek, contain two young females (who are likely more athletic) while he cuts one throat and the other doesn't run, has no defensive wounds, no screams heard, no DNA at scene (the non-chambered bullet is inconclusive) and was unable to provide any detailed information about the girls that the killer would only know. Add to this your video that shows how far of a walk that was and I honestly have serious questions about this being a single attacker who behaved like he was apart of delta force moving with speed, precision and elusiveness. It all just doesn't sit right. I know he was convicted but so where three boys in The Memphis Three case - which has the same feel as this case. People needed closure and they got it but I am not convinced the real killer(s) is behind bars.
I'm a nurse, too, and noticed the same thing about the bridge guy. I didn't realize how long it took to walk to the bridge from the old CPS building until this video. I wish someone could do a video down the hill, across the creek to the scene of crime to see how long that takes as well, as well as the physical effort required.
New to your channel i enjoyed watching your video today. So glad to see they fixed the bridge, but even if i loved in Delphi i wouldn't walk across it. I'm scared of heights. I don't like bridges That is toooo high up for me. Praying for justice for the girls🙏🙏💜🦋💚
Very good , I don’t know how I missed it. I now understand that the CPS building is no longer there. I always wondered how a car could be parked in a suspicious way in an empty space.

It gave me an ery feeling when you were getting close to the bridge, knowing what happened. Where do you think BG was hiding till he made that evil walk across the bridge to the girls?
The asphalt doesn't fit in at all with the environment. They could have used gravel for example. As for the bridge they could have restored it at least to look more authentic - without compromising safety.
They allegedly have him driving his car on camera at 1:57 pm right before he parked at the cps building. A witness stated the saw him on the bridge at 1:58 pm. This is all according to the pca. How exactly did this 5'6", middle aged, pear shaped drinker park and make this walk in approximately 1 minute? 2 minutes if we are most generous. Something doesn't add up here
Get over it already! He said he parked at the old CPS at 130pm and was there til 330 and he has confessed over 60 times with details that only the killer would know! He did it!
I just have some random thoughts. For one as for them fixing the bridge after 6 years , maybe someone wanted to wait until the suspect was caught. I'm sure i remember hearing they had the money very early on for the repairs so makes me wonder was it done the way it is now to make it safe for jurors to walk out on and visit? Since they put that railing and stopped it the way they did is a lil odd to me. All jmo. I do wonder once the trial is over are they going to finsih the entire bridge or leave it as is.
So hauntingly sad to see that Abby, and Libby really couldn't be saved. There really is no place to hide, no cover at that time of year. Perverts don't stop...I hope the evidence is the strongest it can be. Those girls were hunted down, and the perp held all the cards. I truly wish someone could have been closer to have saved them...their fear is still in those woods. I can feel it just seeing that area. I pray they didn't suffer. I pray for their families.
@@jeanmader2302 I agree!! And as far as evidence remember the prosecutor side it's been said as fact I'm court repeated by news , thousands and thousands of pages of discovery,. I have 0 doubt at all that RA is not the man we have been looking for for 6 years. I have full trust in the prosecution team getting a Guilty verdict , now wether it be death or life , not sure. But the girls and their families will have their justice and lastly everyone who like myself has followed this case from the very beginning and others basically al of us who have truly cared for these girls and their families and friends , justice will be served !!
When the water is low and the current is slow, you can. The day of the search, the water was 2 feet higher, cloudy and was more rapid from recent snow melt.
They were allegedly dropped off at the 12:07 mark in the video. I’m not aware of a trail by the cemetery. I’ve been in the cemetery and haven’t seen a designated trail, though it’s fairly easy to get to location of where the bodies were found from the cemetery. There is somewhat of a makeshift trail to the said location, but it’s on private property.
Did RA encounter the 3 girls at the beginning of his trek? Which direction were the 3 girls traveling, mentioned at the beginning of the video, onto Freedom Bridge, or off?
Theory I saw that made it click for me is that RA came up the bridge from the ending side via a road that runs along the cemetery, climbed up the hill to pass them on the bridge, then turned back around and was walking towards them, and that is what triggered Libby suspicions to film him. Also a good theory because in the picture of Abby on the bridge, there is no one on the bridge behind her, as another video shows you can walk across the bridge in 4 1/2 minutes, someone walking close enough as he was, would have been visible behind her.
@@brandonbarragree it seems like it would be better if they just left it so you can still see what the old bridge looked like. It’s private property at the end of the bridge so they probably appreciate people not coming on their property with all the nortietey
So they just redid some of it? How much of old part remains? Just wondered. I've only learned of case on internet. Never been there in person. I appreciate you making the video!
Looks like they have done some major safety work on the bridge, Thank god for that .Apparently they have changed the route around the murder site area ?
I'm not saying this guy didn't do this.. but why would he park so far away if he needed to get away from there quickly? I pray they get whoever is responsible and I suspect it's obviously him.
We walked it yesterday. From the parking lot to the bridge, looked around and back to the parking lot took us 1 hour. We stayed maybe 20 or 30 mins at the bridge.
Thanx Brandon ; its a treat to be there via your efforts and your camera , sir .. Decades ago , there was a group of us that considered ourselves to be Canal Volunteers ; i still have a photo of the day we were first out on that Trail , doing the clean up with tree pruners , rakes and small saws ... im gonna say it was '02 , or '03 ... Fearless Leader Mr Dan was our Advisor , right ?
Been thinking about this trail and that canal walk in town. Wasn't aware of it until the tragic murders made the news. Maybe this summer we will check out Delphi for more than passing through to Indiana beach. Any plan to finish the rest of the bridge?
Thanks for sharing - are they going to finish the rest of the bridge or leave it as is? I imagine because the other side is pretty much private property that they won't finish restoring.
You don’t have to cross the highway to get the eastern side of Freedom Bridge which is also the beginning of Monon High Bridge trail from the old CPS lot. I do cross the highway on Freedom Bridge in my previous Monon High Bridge video.
I’m not from the area. I’m about 2-3 hrs away. But, from what they’re saying work will continue on the Monon High Bridge & the plan is to add decking & railing to allow people to view the scenery. No doubt they’ve had to replace old rotted railroad ties too. Hopefully, they’ll add lots of Camara’s. I never thought that’d be a good thing but apparently it’s needed to avoid these kind of tragedies.
One news story had it that it will remain a viewing platform for the time being. They dont want people accessing on to the private property at the other end.
Funny. At first I thought you were by yourself and all of a sudden there is a woman on the bridge seeming to come from nowhere. I now realize she was with you.
@@brandonbarragree thanks, that what i guessed too. So if RA got off the platform A he would need 10 minutes to go back to the bench that is opposite the Mears farm at the Mary Gerard path starting point, and then come back to the bridge.
It looks to me like the bridge won't be finished all the way across. I would assume it is because people will keep visiting the site where the girls were found which is on private property. Also the trail on the other side of the bridge is badly overgrown and will need to be cleared before it can become from "rails to the trails" path. Be careful of that woman on the bridge. She appeared as quickly on the bridge in the video as BG with those two poor girls that day. I assume you made it back but not sure... Big LOL..... Good video.
Thanks! and I’m fine. 🙂 Yes, there’s really no need to continue the trail any farther, though where the girls were found is accessible from the cemetery, so no need for the bridge to get there and that’s also private property too.
Wow after 6 yrs enough money. I guess they tired of all the accusations from all the donated monies. Maybe it came from a smidgen of the Patty's donated monies. It is nice but doesn't seem to costly, however unless it was done by certain cronies.
I don't know if this is bothering anyone else but just a heads up for whatever camera you were using. It jumps in and out of focus every second or so which makes it hard to watch for some people. I want to watch cause I am curious, but it's honestly giving me a headache. So just some feedback that maybe try a different camera that doesn't do that just so viewers don't get sick watching your videos. I do appreciate that you took the walk, cause I really wanted to see it.
Yes, I know it’s doing the jumping and I don’t like it. I tried to smooth it in editing and it helped some. It was worse before I started to stabilize it. I’m not sure exactly why that was happening. I going to use a new camera when I return in the future.
@brandonbarragree That would be awesome. I enjoyed your commentary and tour. I guess the camera just didn't know where to focus cause of all the trees. It definitely did calm down later on though.
People have been treacherously walking across the Monon High Bridge for years with it's missing railroad ties and absolutely nothing to hang onto on either side and now that a railing and flooring was installed you say it should have been higher to prevent falling. Are you for real?
Those walking trails are common in these little towns. Sometimes they will remove old railroad track & create a walking path. It’s a damn shame that it’s so unsafe to go on a walk about in the town you grew up in. Their deaths have made me more cautious. It’s not “safe” anywhere
I went out there the day of the PCA hearing and the were working on the bridge and were very rude and mean, accusing me of looking for pretty little girls. Their very lucky I wasn’t family or a friend!!! 😡😡😡 (Indiana Landmarks)
I need a walker to ambulate and grateful for the pavement! My grandson is a train freak! Anything trains! His sis asked me about the memorials. Ugh. How to tell a ten yr old…
It was a warm day but the water was murky and muddy soup looking, proven by the other girls photo of the bridge that day. No way you could see fish in that brown murky water.
You are correct. They should have never been able to access the bridge. Kids are going to do what they want to do most of the time. I would have at that age.

It’s good if the jury can actually walk out somewhat safely. They can have a good look at the terrain.
How well can ya see fish from up on the bridge?
When the water is low and the current is slow, you can. The day of the search, the water was 2 feet higher, cloudy and was more rapid from recent snow melt.
Thank you very much.
They removed the 2 benches right before you walk onto monon bridge
Is 05:07 the point where the girls got on the trail ?
Isn't there also a trail that runs by a cemetery? Where does that connect to the bridge ?
They were allegedly dropped off at the 12:07 mark in the video. I’m not aware of a trail by the cemetery. I’ve been in the cemetery and haven’t seen a designated trail, though it’s fairly easy to get to location of where the bodies were found from the cemetery. There is somewhat of a makeshift trail to the said location, but it’s on private property.
I would like to know how deep the creek gets
Somewhere around 3 or 3 1/2 feet…it seems like,if not a little higher.
TIP: when your panning from left to right or right to left you need to go very slow. It makes everything a blur if you don’t.
Maybe I wanted it to be a blur. One never knows.
Morons like blurry, morons are stubborn that way.
@@brandonbarragree😂
I wonder if they are going to replace the rest of the bridge? I hope so, it's very nice what they've done so far.
I don’t know for sure. It’s really nice now.
@@brandonbarragree it seems like it would be better if they just left it so you can still see what the old bridge looked like. It’s private property at the end of the bridge so they probably appreciate people not coming on their property with all the nortietey
@@businessoffice4964 Yes it is private property and they probably don’t want anyone there anymore. Plus it really doesn’t need to go any farther.
So they just redid some of it? How much of old part remains? Just wondered. I've only learned of case on internet. Never been there in person. I appreciate you making the video!
I would say half to two-thirds is repaired.
I saw somewhere that the other half of the bridge that isn't redone is because it's privately owned.
Looks like they have done some major safety work on the bridge, Thank god for that .Apparently they have changed the route around the murder site area ?
The area has definitely changed, that’s for sure.
I'm not saying this guy didn't do this.. but why would he park so far away if he needed to get away from there quickly? I pray they get whoever is responsible and I suspect it's obviously him.
Either alleged RA parking spot is simply too far away.
Wonder if you can come across from tge other side
Can you say approx how long it would take to walk from where the girls were dropped off to the Monan High Bride?
I would say about 5-8 minutes depending how fast you’re walking.
We walked it yesterday. From the parking lot to the bridge, looked around and back to the parking lot took us 1 hour. We stayed maybe 20 or 30 mins at the bridge.
Thanx Brandon ;
its a treat to be there via your efforts and your camera , sir ..
I believe the bridge repairs are completed.
Thanks for the informative video!
You’re welcome!
Thanks for sharing - are they going to finish the rest of the bridge or leave it as is? I imagine because the other side is pretty much private property that they won't finish restoring.
I would imagine it’s completed, though I don’t know for sure.
Its a very scary trail i bet to walk alone on
I thought the CPS building was across the highway and you would have to cross the freedom bridge to get to the high bridge.
Also I didn’t see you cross the highway on Freedom Bridge
You don’t have to cross the highway to get the eastern side of Freedom Bridge which is also the beginning of Monon High Bridge trail from the old CPS lot. I do cross the highway on Freedom Bridge in my previous Monon High Bridge video.
Is the rest of the bridge going to be redone & will it be accessible to the end?
It looks like it’s finished, but I don’t know for sure.
Does anyone know what year all the trail upgrades were done?
2022
1:41 - 4:39 cps to where saw 3 girls
Why and when did they tear down old CPS building?
The building was abandoned and no one was interested in purchasing it so the State of Indiana tore it down in 2018.
Ty for this info. A tragedy for sure
Yes it is. Thank you for watching.
Is that Ronald Logan's house the white one near the beginning?
No. You can’t see that house on the video.
Its nice how its been done..but sad .
Funny. At first I thought you were by yourself and all of a sudden there is a woman on the bridge seeming to come from nowhere. I now realize she was with you.
😄 yes, she was with me.
I went across an old viaduct recently before it was boarded. Moderate danger is exciting.
Glad they are finally fixing that deathtrap they called a bridge.
Not before this crime
if one was fast pace walking, how fast do you think he could walk it?
8-10 minutes, I’d say
I saw somewhere that the other half of the bridge that isn't redone is privately owned.
Scary place to walk especially for little girls not older than 14
👍🏻
They need a memorial for Libby and Abby
There’s a park outside of Delphi named after them.
It was really nice outside that day it happened. Warmer than 45
Maybe they wanted to alter the scene as a coverup and the accused suspect wasn't the actual perpetrator .
Why was the bridge not completed to the other side ? 🤔
Very odd that RA parked so far
Wow after 6 yrs enough money. I guess they tired of all the accusations from all the donated monies. Maybe it came from a smidgen of the Patty's donated monies. It is nice but doesn't seem to costly, however unless it was done by certain cronies.
GRAN-ED , should and could have been done sooner. Please don't insult not a pretty look.
This will all unfold and justice is waiting
So evil for someone to see two young girls on a bridge and see them as trapped. To see them as an opportunity for depravity and evil.
Your mic is picking up a lot of interference/ambient noise.
Some places it’s quite loud there and other places are just weird.
@@brandonbarragree weird?
What kind of weird? Loud noise from what?@@brandonbarragree
I think the railroad track railing should be much higher to prevent falling over it or being thrown from the bridge, murdered.
🤔
The odds of that happening are almost nil. The railings are the perfect height to take in the scenery.
People have been treacherously walking across the Monon High Bridge for years with it's missing railroad ties and absolutely nothing to hang onto on either side and now that a railing and flooring was installed you say it should have been higher to prevent falling. Are you for real?
Cant beleive people would let their kids just go walk on this alone. I wouldnt let then walk on it if i was holding their hand
I guess you never did things as a kid you weren't suppose to.
Anna Williams, Abby's mom, said she didn't allow her to walk on the bridge.
@@marierees8890 they were dropped off to walk it alone, very stupid
@@marierees8890 but still walk the park alone
Shocked that young girls were allowed somewhere this remote alone
Those walking trails are common in these little towns. Sometimes they will remove old railroad track & create a walking path. It’s a damn shame that it’s so unsafe to go on a walk about in the town you grew up in. Their deaths have made me more cautious. It’s not “safe” anywhere
Sad. At least they are at peace.
Ugh. How to tell a ten yr old…
So, it looks like the bridge is impassable now. You can't walk the full length of it.
It crosses the creek but does not go all the way back to solid ground.
Wait just a minute. RA said he was there to look at fish... Yet the stream appears frozen on this similar temperature day
It was in 60’s over that weekend so not likely frozen at the time.
It was a warm day but the water was murky and muddy soup looking, proven by the other girls photo of the bridge that day. No way you could see fish in that brown murky water.
What kind of killer is Richard Allen? He’s not a serial killer, or a mass murderer or a spree killer. He has to fall into some type of category
Whoever did it - it's not their first
A sick,twisted,freak killer.
He’s an opportunistic killer
@Adaman368After reading the coroner's description of the girls' wounds, especially Abby's, I'm inclined to agree with you.
Creepy place after what happened.
The bridge should have been closed until safety renovations were done. Abby and Libby Would never have even been on that bridge.
You are correct. They should have never been able to access the bridge. Kids are going to do what they want to do most of the time. I would have at that age.
🎭I believe that someone knew that the girls would be there at that time. I also believe that maybe someone close/in the family, mayb have been the killer or one of them..js\jmo
Don't agree with the family part, but have long wondered if they had plans to meet someone, or if someone lured them there with a lie.
🎭Why would two young girls travel all that way to walk across a delapitated bridge with holes in it..srsly? Just getting to the bridge is isolated and dangerous..js
don’t you remember being a teen? we used to do stuff like that all the time, plus it was even known as a local teen hangout spot along with adults using the trail for exercise/nature walks.

"The route that suspect Richard Allen took"... ALLEGEDLY .
Can anyone verify former Carroll County Sheriff Deputy detective Kevin Hammond's alibi on the afternoon that Libby German and Abigail Williams were killed? He looked like the Bridge Guy more so than anyone else.
Allen actually told LE he did.
