I wish more people would adopt this bike commuting mentality the world would be a better place. I see neighbors using their cars just to buy few groceries from a store which is only 1km away. These neighbors have 2 to 3 cars but not one single bike.
Yup, I agree! I think for many people they don't even consider it. Sometimes the first step is introducing someone to the idea. Of course, there's some people who will always choose comfort and convenience.
Thats the problem LAZY PEOPLE. There's too many of them. Any form of EXERCISE is like a dirty word to them. The funniest thought. Is someone who gets in a car and drives say 6 miles to a gym to then PAY to sit on a stationary bike for 30 to 45 minutes. Get back in their CAR and drive home. When they could have cycled. Saved money on petrol and going to the gym. You can't make it up.

But they could do with the exercise too. The obesity epidemic in the west is about laziness. Not just overeating.

I bought a electric assist bicycle in March 2022 as an alternative means of transportation. My alternate is now my main. I only drive my truck if my wife and I have to go somewhere together or if the weather is not favorable. I also lost 36 pounds in four months.
I still pay all of these expenses. I drive a full size truck. The only thing I save is 7 miles round trip every day I ride. I probably spend far more on my bike (purchase, maintenance, accessories, etc.) than I save. But the health benefits are outstanding.
Great video but I wouldn't spend a lot of time comparing the costs of bicycling to public transportation. The goal should be to get cars off the road in any way possible. Also, some people do multi-modal commuting with bikes and trains/buses combined. I don't have the time and fitness to bike 10 miles each way but its great for the first and last mile between bus stops!
great point. Most people have a commute of more than 10 miles to work. myself, my commute is about 20 miles and that’s exactly what i do. I take public transportation and then bike the last mile to work.
The lack of time is unfortunate, I manage 11 miles by bike both ways in hilly terrain. I sometimes get a ride but I have & am capable of making the journey by bike. Edit: turns out it's only 10 miles the route I'm taking. Also I have recently made a journey that was 25 miles in either direction.

What a great channel! I'm from Brazil and I use my bike to go to work everyday! I have a car and I think it's necessary for me now, but I definetly don't need to drive for everything I do in my life. That's the trap, we always get lazy with such convenience...

Bike commute now involves a bacon roll purchased on the way in, so this is the equivalent of the fuel used to use on my motorcycle, however the ride is so much better than using the car. Given the choice between a bacon roll or fuel, I know which I prefer.

What are some other reasons that I missed on how bike commuting saves you money?
Costs of parking. Not all employers have enough free parking spots for all of their employees
you missed huge "medical bills" due to being fat and lazy on motor vehicles
@@SmokeyVlogs great point! Bike Commuting definitely helps keep you healthy.
Gym costs. Lol

$120/month on car insurance alone saved.
I paid 150.00 for my bike and for accessories about 100-150.00. Maintenance for me is free. I take to a bike shop that does free services. Love it.

Great video. I always wondered how much people save when they commute by bike.
Yeah man in Canada were at almost $7 a gallon for my Audi. So ebike is going to be my go to work
Foldable bikes are best for big city living
Good brands:
Fnhon
Brompton
Dahon
Tern
If you're tires last "forever" why do you get a new set every year?
You no longer pay for parking.
Not necessarily you got to park your bike somewhere?
