    The fact that many of your postcards are in excellent condition must be a good selling point, especially when comparing with others! Love the fact that you dare to price so high. I sell postcards too low I think. Learning a lot tonight. Thank you.

      No, i mentioned earlier that I typically do sell similar off my active listings as i work through the pile. I only had drafts set up for the purposes of shooting the video from a difrerent computer than I typically list with.

    I add "used" or "unused" for the collectors who are interested in the backs of postcards.

      I use Unused sometimes or UNP or sometimes both. For "used" i usually dont do anything

    My bottom price is $17.97 + $3.95 shipping but I was surprised to see some of the chromes go for as much as they did. My question is on your inventory process. You didn't put any custom SKU info in, how do you locate it when you sold the item? I have about 20K listings, I'd never be able to find a sale if I didn't use the custom label field with a SKU.

      For US cards, I go by state then subdivide by era. For International I go by continent or country depending how many I have. As quantity grows I subdivide further. For non location views I sort by content, then subdivide by era. Comic, holiday, Transportation (subdivided planes, ships, autos). It works very well for me except when I make errors which is really the weak point of any organization system.

      @@JackassRetro I use the bin system. 1-23 = the 23rd card in bin 1. I don't use top loaders, I just use the penny sleeve and I use a marker to put the SKU on it. So when someone buys, I see the SKU and can pull it in 30 seconds. I do like the top loader idea but the cost of storage goes way up since penny sleeves are obviously cheap. Do you send the card in the top loader?

    With all the time that you take on one postcard is it worth the effort in the sale? The the other postcard people that can do a listing in about a minute and they're making pretty good

      Great question. I made that video 3 years ago so this question comes with a good deal of 20/20 reverse perspective. Short answer is yes. Long answer: Yes. Because I invested that time over the years it A) Made me much much faster at this process (I was going a little slow for the video) and also refine the process for better efficiency. I can now research any given card with up to 4 different data points and complete a listing in under a minute in most cases but usually that isnt even necessary because.... B) It Helped me learn and build my knowledge to the point where there are a lot of cards I just know now. It has helped me standardize pricing structure for more common lower-value cards and help me quickly identify cards that have the most potential to be priced in the $20 and up category with a pretty high degree of accuracy.

      @@JackassRetro do you care to share either here or in a video how you manage inventory. I collect a lot of postcards for my travels and I was thinking of doing an Excel sheet number cards one through whatever, a short name description, etc

    Good practices. Useful info. If you have Worthpoint why bother with Terapeak? Is there anything that Terapeak has that Worthpoint is lacking? TFS.

    • @JackassRetro
      @JackassRetro  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Terapeak just gives me last 12 months at a glance. It gives me a sense of a more current demand. Doesnt always make a difference but it does sometimes.

    Maybe I missed something- you do all these in the drafts folder? I go off my solds. Any advantage doing it from drafts? How do you have all those in drafts anyhow? This video is so interesting to me, thank you! Back to watching.....oh I see now, you already had them in drafts right ?

    I have trouble figuring out what a RPPC is How can you tell. Some have white letters on front but they say if it has a publisher on back it not a RPPC. IM CONFUSED Thanks for the videos.

    • @JackassRetro
      @JackassRetro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Elizabeth and thanks for watching. RPPC is literally on photographic paper. If you go the link in my recent what sold videos there is a link to Playles's RPPC page that can help date an identify real photo postcards by the stamp box. Also if you look at the card under high-ish magnification, look at how it was printed. If you see dots its printed (lithographed), if you dont see dots it is likely a RPPC.
