As the runner's teeth finally found their way to my trachea, threatening to rip it off, an English seaman lobbed off the head of my adversary. "Bloody Hell!" He said, "Look what they've done to you!" Still in a daze, and unable to speak due to blood clogging my vocal chord, I am at last dragged back to the lifeboat that promised to deliver us away from this nightmare. And as a French surgeon tended to my wound and an English priest performed exorcism on me, I gazed back to the wall of San Sebastian, wondering all but one question: "How in the absolute fuck did I survived that fall?"
there also another method but its very unlikely, so basically you need to be pushed down off the edge by a runner and then get saved by a teammate (it cancels the fall damage)

i thought survive would mean escape, like what hapens if a runner tackles you off and somebody kills it. i did this kind of survival once when somebody else was closer to the zombies so i didnt even have to fight, and ive seen plenty survive by just fighting or backtracking the map

There's another method, by being a bugle musician class. It's worked most of the time (at least for me) because the buff from bugle is very helpful and there's no cooldown effect unlike charge skill from officer class.
handaxe is very useful in those cramped space especially the sacrifice part and 2 normal handaxe swing is already 90 damage while unbuff sabre take 3 swing to deal 90 damage also there still a short cooldown depend on the amount of damage you deal per second it has NO cooldown before it can be recharge but it still have a cooldown that can be fast or slow depending on the amount of damage you can deal so yeah handaxe win but double everyone damage is still good so for sacrifice handaxe win but for team bugle win
Once there was like a group 5 people who were too late to get on the platform so we just formed a whole civilization up there and we were literally doing better than the people on the beach
One time I got pushed off by a runner as I walked backward. I didn’t break my legs and got on the escape boat after sacrificing. Clipped it, obviously.
I remebered i have alot of people joining me on the sacrifice platform so there was less people trying to escape with the boat and alot of the sascrifice place lel
the time I did the sacrifice. I was like oh man I’m gonna have to wait the next game session of this map. Because I did it on one life when I sacrificed myself. But I somehow survived from falling from the lower part of the fortress and I got the badge for beating it on one life 🤯

One time, I was at the 2nd cannon with a brunswick soldier and while me and him were defending at the second cannon but then the objective that you gotta go to the platform came, I was gonna rush the platform but while i was gonna do it, the brunswick soldier got mauled by a runner and my dumb@ss brain thought i can just save him and me and him could rush to the platform in time, so i jumped down and saved him with my heavy sabre and we both ran back through the fort but after i went through the first door, I got into a collision with a shambler, and the brunswick soldier tried to save me but there were too much shamblers on me that i died once he killed all of them. But even though I died and the brunswick soldier could’ve gotten a risk of getting his legs broken, the brunswick soldier got to survive since i saved his life.
tbh.. why don't you use bugle instead.. or officer class.. since it would be easier if you hold up the top... I mean it's not that hard.. since you can survive just being paying attention on runners..
just hope you don't get to much bombers spawn and you'll survive also DON'T USE OVERHEAD STABS USE THE THRUST if your planning to hold the grate opening of course

Btw , you can also break fall by jumping on other people but you need to come down a bit then you can survive

There is another way which if the runner grab you while your at the end of the ledge it willl actually push you down and you wont get broken leg.

You can just survive the sacrifice by just going in the back and climb the haybale, but you need to use the charge ability to not getting grabbed

For method 2, you can use carbine, brass pistol and axe to shove shamblers

It’s also possible to survive San Sebastián by clipping a edge of the wall while falling down, I’ve done it twice before but it’s very unreliable

I didn’t end up surviving the sacrifice but, I threw a grenade last second and it prevented me from turning into a zombie.
All I did was standing at the edge of the stair, not to trying to do the bug but I felt safer lol

If you turn off and turn on wifi very fast and jump you can survive
San Sabastian is harder now bombers can spawn, byt honestly if you have a good team its not that bad
