Yes it works. If you create child class object by referring parent class like Parent p=new Child(), in that case only it will have method hiding not method override for static method and for non static it will be method override

Overriding of variables is not possible in Java. It’s applicable only for methods. What you actually showing is called "Variable hiding”. PS: thanks for the course, sir :)
