I just recently reunited with my internet friend after 3 years of talking with him. He and I are really big Miracle Musical fans, and one night of chilling between me and him this song gets in my recommended. I never heard of it, so i asked him about it. He said he never knew this song existed. We both listened this for the first time together. One of the most magical moments between our meetup. Thank you, Miracle Musical.
With comments being reopened, I can finally talk about how this song is my favorite song to ever exist. Never thought a cover of an already incredibly beautiful song could be even better but here we are. Every time I come back to this song, I am filled with a heavenly bliss that feels like an out-of-body experience. The vocals and instrumental intertwine to make a song I will forever hold near and dear to my heart, for it means a lot to me and has stuck with me for years. I will never forget this song
Even if this isn't an official track on the tracklist, it feels like the natural conclusion to the entire Hawaii Part II album. It gives a hopeful feeling of finality. Two voices are singing now, and though a friendless tide has found the protagonist, he returns to his beloved in the next life. Together, once again, never letting go. In a sense, getting to see her again was the protagonist's candle on the water; the last light in the dark, cold sea that he drowns in.
Oddly enough, even though this is a cover of a Disney song, given the most often accepted interpretation of this album, at least as far as I'm aware - that being of a man who moves to Hawaii, falls in love with a girl, is framed for her murder, pleads insanity and then travels back in time before dying at sea - this feels like a fittingly bittersweet ending. I just imagine the protagonist and his love on a beach at dusk, his head in her lap as she sings to him as they finally come together again, even if it is in death.
Interesting interpretation with the physical time travel, I always thought the man (Simon, afaik) undergoes electric shock therapy because they try to treat him for his insanity, but because he wasn’t insane to begin with, it makes him insane, and that Time Machine is more of a metaphor where he’s looking back on his mistakes 🤔 But still, absolutely agree with that stunning image

I don't imagine him going back in time as much as he's wishing he could go back and fix things. He travels out to sea in a deluded attempt to find his love and winds up starving to death as he finds nothing and hallucinates a happy reunion before having a moment of clarity as he slips away.
I feel like if this were in the proper album, it would take place between Time Machine and Stranded Lullaby. What Simon believes to be the ghost of his girlfriend is offering to guide him back home, reassuring him that things will be alright. However, this is merely a mirage, and Simon ends up more lost than he originally was.

This song feels like an opposite to Stranded Lullaby to me. I view this as an alternate ending. This is the ending to the interpretation of HW:II in which the protagonist is framed for the murder of the love of his life. While he’s adrift at sea, about to die from exhaustion, he hears his love calling to him. He sees a lighthouse so tall that it extends to the heavens. Bathed in heavenly light, and there waiting for him is his love who calls out for him to join her. That’s what this song is to me
I think it fits perfectly right after Stranded Lullaby. As he's drowning in the sea, he hears her voice, giving him the resolve to climb to the top, all the way up to Space Station Level 7 where she's waiting for him. The siren who "makes it right" in Dream Sweet in Sea Major makes this a perfect transition song

In this interpretation, "Space Station Level 7" is about denial and hope for a future that isn't based in anything, the "Garden of Imagination" aka delusion expanding to cover over the pain of loss, which turns on the protagonist in Mind Electric, Labyrinth, and Time Machine. I think in the good ending then, he comes to terms with his own shortcomings and gains the closure he was longing for it Stranded Lullaby and is thus able to come back to her fully, her being the candle on the water that leads him back to shore now that he is ready to be with her fully as she is, not as he perceived her to be.

Discovering a new musican or band is a fun journey going through their albums and finding which songs you like and obviously the weaker songs you don't like, but Tally Hall/Mirical Musical makes the journey of discovery harder but more rewarding and on top of that almost every single song is an absolutely amazing song!

Miracle Musical having two singles is something that I found out about yesterday.
I love this song so much, for how beutiful it is, and because, while it is a cover, it could still perfectly fit into the story of hawaii part ii as it's also about a sailor getting lost at sea with the love interest somewhere else, in hpii's case the love interest is 6 feet under.
