Love a bit of light painting, easier than a lot of people think. No two shots are the same, adding a bit of smoke can add atmosphere too. Thanks Pye for more inspirational work.
Thanks so much for making this easy to understand. You do a great job explaining what you are doing and why, and the hack with string lights and a hoop is great!
Nice idea of using led string lights. Another photographer was using light tubes to form a broader swath of light. Very net when color was added. Keep teaching. We all can use ideas from everyone.
Another great tutorial! Each I watch your videos I feel inspired. I’m late to portraiture photography, but I look forward to incorporating your techniques.
@@payamjirsa I never used Lightroom, I used C1 since I started making photos almost 2 years ago, but I canceled subscribtion last month to move to Lightroom. I liked editing photos in C1, however it's very underdevolped in some areas... Having to uninstall whole program, downlad new installer and make fresh install of newer version is huge pain on Windows... Such a shame. Also watermarks are useless if you export photos with different crop. And there is no Android app, you have no Photoshop... And it still costs well over 2, maybe even 3 times more than Lr+PS.
Cool idea. Going to give it a try. I think I’ll put a barrier ( gaffer tape ) between individual LED and near hand. That way fingers wont turn red with light.
I wanna do that light painting but on film. I'm shooting portraits (on film) of a friend in a few weeks and light painting behind him would be very cool.
Are you able to cut the string light strip down? The link provided is for a 100 LED string light strip but the ring used definitely doesn’t have anywhere near that amount. Looking at it from the video it would appear to be closer to maybe 30 LEDs used. I don’t want to cut the strip and have issues but 100 is way too many for such a small circumference
Thank you, Pye! This was a fun lesson.

Indeed, it's super fun!

Excellent
Good Advice.
Very cool, looks even easier ( and more fun ) than a drag and pop. Thanks to you and Sabrina and Adorama too.
It's a fun and easy technique! Glad you enjoyed!
I’d love to see you use capture one. As well bring the visual flow presets to capture one!!
C1 is a great program. We need someone to do that conversion, haha! We're so invested in the LR ecosystem.

great idea!
I laughed so hard when you took a pause regarding what was the diameter and circumference 🤣
Haha, you'd expect someone named Pi to have this down =)
Great 🤝😎🤟🏼
Wow...so cool, very creative...😊
Thank you!
