- "’O sole Mio" is a globally known Neapolitan song written in 1898. Lyrics were written by Giovanni Capurro and the music was composed by Eduardo di Capua and Alfredo Mazzucchi. There are other versions of "’O sole mio" but it is usually sung in the original Neapolitan language. ’O sole Mio is the Neapolitan equivalent of standard Italian Il mio sole and translates literally as "my sun" or "my sunshine". "It's Now or Never" is one of two popular songs based on the Italian song of the Neapolitan language, "'O Sole Mio" the other being "There's No Tomorrow", recorded by U.S. singer Tony Martin in 1949, which inspired Presley's “It’s Now or Never” version. The lyrics were written by Aaron Schroeder and Wally Gold. The song was published by Elvis Presley's company Gladys Music, Inc. In 1960, "It's Now or Never" was a number-one record in the U.S. for Elvis Presley, spending five weeks at number one and the UK, where it spent eight weeks at the top in 1960 and an additional week at number one in 2005 as a re-issue, and numerous other countries, selling in excess of 25 million copies worldwide. This backing track version is based upon Elvis’s arrangement; however I decide to incorporate some of the original Italian lyrics to create a unique version. The vocal was recorded at Wehh studio.
