Siskin's December Bash
The combing of two holidays really occurred when Doris and David became one. Then in 1974 it was decided that Siskin’s should have a party for family and friends. An invite was sent out via snail mail and our first event, although a lot of work, was so much fun we decided to continue every year. The bash as we eventually called it, became a hit for then just family and a few close friends. It grew to include acquaintances. Which in turn became good friends. If a visiting family of any guests came to town, they too were invited. Seems the Bash grew in popularity so much that many looked forward to the event. The decorations were placed to show the spirit of Christmas and Chanukah. Naturally, it became Chrismukah or Hanukamas. Music, entertainment, great food, wonderful drinks and sharing company proved to be the ticket for a remarkable success. By 2019 with the onset of covid many events were cancelled worldwide, so too was the Siskin’s Holiday Bash. After 45 years the storied event ceased, but the memories still remain. Good friends with great times shall endure.
