I feel so proud to acknowledge every time that most of the fellows listening to Cardiacs agree that this is the best song ever written. Such majestic and accurate descriptions of it I read too. Awesome. Beyond this, great performance! Loved the energy
How this song starts off like the end of the world and just keep getting bigger, and bigger, and bigger... it feels impossible. Hanging way up in a planetary sized tantrum of unending high suspense.... it's such a mountain, nay, planet of a song. They ALL held themselves to task on the stage. Ferocious. Primal. Sustaining. Glorious. I don't think I've ever seen anyone attack a cover (least of all D.B. by Cardiacs) with that much strength in my 41 years of life. Just... holy sh*t.❤
A little late finding this but as 62 year old Cardiacs fan of many many years this is an incredible version of one of my absolute favourite songs. I still shed a tear when I think of Tim and this brought a lump to my throat when I played it...bloody well done to all concerned and special thanks to Mike Vennart for being such a great ambassador for Tim's music...👍
He was good while in Oceansize, but afterwards it seems he has just put in the work and has become so "effortless" as a singer. When "blizzard" came out, I had to pause at several points, just to check if he was really doing the things he was doing. Like at 4:22 when he just decides to sound like Robert Halford for a second - what a musician :)
That went HARD. This is a fantastic cover of not exactly an easy song or band to cover. Big props to the musicians and big props to Mike for that delivery.
The most wonderful sound that my ears and eyes have ever witnessed, I really needed this today, I'm in tears. This song is the best song man has ever produced and it's delivery here is beyond words. All the members on stage in this video are the luckiest people in the world to be able to part of that creation. I love you all.
I love how there is no light on the vocalist thru the song. We all know it's not Tim, but it's such a great cover, descended from the ether to celebrate Tim's legacy.
Best live cover of anything I have ever seen. Supremely unhinged but controlled vocals. Never thought I'd see anyone as totally committed and crazy as Peter Hammill - now I have and its glorious.
THIS IS SO EPIC !! so close to the original and captures the TRUE essence Of their magic.... some of these member are real Cardiacs fam and they keepin the music alive with this.... but..... PLEASE MORE GIGS !! PLEASE MORE ... i got my 15 year ofd son and his friends into the Cardiacs it would be there dream to witness this song LIVE and more ... there is a whole new generation of Cardiac fans....!
Unbelievable. I am at a loss for words. Here all smiles but teared. Wondered. Loved. A tribute. Happy memories of being a family of fish once in a snowy pond. Hail the Leader of the Starry Skies...
OMG, one of the chorists absolutely NAILED her part with the sustained note at the end. She either didn't take breaks or made them very, very subtle... Am I hearing it right? I'm really impressed! O_O
@@outlaw1182 Yes, it's definitely Mel Woods. I looked her up and found her in other TH-cam videos and yes, she's the one. Oh my God, what a wonderful take she did in this live version!
This is one of songs that requires one hell of a vocal range to pull off. The band nails the playing, vocals get off in the high range at tad, but if you have ever heard Jon Anderson (Yes) live and he’s amazing, even he bodges a bit. It’s tough to get that high a register for 5 minutes let alone the duration of a concert. But damn Mel, whooooooo!
Whoever remastered this .. Hats off to you Sir or Ma'am ! Rounded that sound perfectly. Brings a tear to the eye everytime i listen to it but makes me grin at the same time. Miss you Tim xx
Mike Vennart doesnt half have a set of bellows. I hope this gets a release. Same for the Sing to Tim shows. Justice has been done to Cardiaces greatest song.
Good job I wasn't there. Would have been a full-on one-man stage invasion accompanied by bouncer ejection straight out through the fire doors. fucking mint.
We cut all his eyes we did Squeezed the lids and down the grog into hole He skip with cow eyed smile to the blissful Into craggy dress and WE WILL WE PRAISE HIM WE WILL PRAISE HIM off his pins Clear him of all sins Oh my! I was there. A magical moment. Tim was in his wheelchair in the corner by the stage.
As was I. It was a borderline religious experience.
It was a magica night - see you all in May
Oh dear, I seem to have got something in my eye...
This singer goes so hard, I'm genuinely surprised his voice held out until the end.
Just checking out Vennart now.
Just.....fucking.......wow. What on earth can you say?
Yep, Makes you speechless eh ! Almost takes your breath away.
Outstanding and brave vocal commitment from Mike Vennart.

I cry hot tears every time I watch it.

Mike Vennart's range is insane my goodness, what an amazing cover!!

This has to be the greatest live Cardiacs cover ever! I also love how much fun Kavus is having playing it.
Thanks to you i've fallen in the tallyhall, cardiacs rabbit hole, thank you so much.
Incredible performance, Tim musta been so proud bless him. We miss him 😪
We will praise him.
Mike Vennart has such a great voice for this song, love the grit and energy he brings to this version
This is genuinely one of the greatest live performances I’ve ever seen
Damn, Mike.... brought the HEAT.
R.I.P., Timothy.
I just cried watching this
Sad to not have been there, so happy it happened.
That went HARD. This is a fantastic cover of not exactly an easy song or band to cover. Big props to the musicians and big props to Mike for that delivery.
Flipping incredible. This needs to be sent to the moon for safekeeping or summut.
Almost forgot to watch this today.
Congraaaaazzzzz... You just played the greatest song ever written and didnt ruin it... fabulous
Discovered Cardiacs through Mike Vennart many years ago. Very fitting.
Wow, what a song what a cover, eminently worthy of great Laudation...
THAT. Was a vocal master-class!!
Every time I listen to this song I'm surprised by how long it actually is. It flies by every single time.
Absolutely fucking sensational
Glorious, I praise them all off their pins.
This is just amazing. Mike Vennart brought a whole new dimension to this song.
One of the greatest live performances on TH-cam I’ve ever come across!

Tears - Amazing! Seeing Tim do this was something special but this is up there. Wish I'd have been there. Well done everyone involved

What an amazing recording
This. This brought tears to me eyes.
Unreal
I love you all
This is truly amazing and i am only a few minutes in
Brings back so many good memories of that evening.
Seeing Bic, Jon and Kavus on stage at the end was very special.

Would have been Mel Woods, because much as it pains me to say it, Jo Spratley couldn't hold a note in a bucket....

Cardiaces greatest song.
It's taken to my liking.......
Perfect!!)
Great version, wish I'd been there. The only other singer that could do justice to this number is Patton.
I'd love to also see Devin Townsend have a go
The drummer looked at the camera. That's why his vocal track went 'missing'.
Good job I wasn't there. Would have been a full-on one-man stage invasion accompanied by bouncer ejection straight out through the fire doors. fucking mint.

The sound of heaven. Meanwhile Taylor Swift sneezes and gets 10 million views. What a sad world.
Like several cults conjuring at once!
Kavus' expensive guitar ?
Is there any more footage from this event? :)
Fucking lush!
