Great video. Through trial and error I found out that if I connected my iPhone Xr for both phone and audio it kept disconnecting every few minutes. However, if I only connected for audio and ignore the phone setup entirely, it works well. Phone doesn’t go through the car stereo of course, but for me playing music is the main think I need.
I have same issue with nissan serena which seems to be using same system. Thing is that it seems connecting to hands-free also connects to audio and visa-versa. Disabling cars' BT disables both.
So I've managed to get it working. Here's last few things I changed that finally helped, unsure which specifically: 1. Unpair and pair again, this time enabled "Allow Contacts and Favourites sync" 2. Went into navigation settings and disabled carwings notifications (use google translate in camera mode) 3. Set PIN to 12345 (instead of 1234)

@@neemaprosper6152 Hmmm thats strange, have you tried removing the profile you orginally created in the car menu and started the process from the beginning? Maybe the car needs to 'handshake' with the phone and is not in pairing mode only connection mode when your trying to find your car again from your phone.

Probably means ur car does not have bluetooth. These vans came in a range of options and it cpuld be that the purchaser from the factory didnt opt for bluetooth at the time. That is just my guess.

I've never had an ipod so not sure, I'm assuming it would if its bluetooth capable. The phone I was using in this video was a Nexus 6P so an android phone and didn't have any issues.
There is a way to switch off the voice to the maps if thats what you mean. However I simply dont go into the navigator and it doesnt talk while I'm driving.

No worries glad I could help! I havent delved into making calls using the handsfree other than getting my partner to select the number in my phone and then calling. In my video I showed how to setup the phone call profile which allows you to receive calls through the bluetooth system. But unfortunately thats about as advanced as I get sorry. I believe that u can setup an address book or speed dial a few numbers but the other option would be to try using voice commands to ur phone

Thank you Mitch, unfortunately the screen kee0s turning off if I don't press any buttons for a few seconds: I have managed to save my number and name a few times and it appears on my phone as a nearby device however (when it tries to pair) it says the password is insufficient and completely rejects it. I have checked the password and retried a few times-nothing has happend :(

hey mitch, i was able to connect bluetooth and but cannot stream music and there is no bluetooth option iin audio settings, it is only showing 7 options instead of 8. this is for a nissan dualis 2007. Does it mean it doesnt support streaming music ?
my blue tooth hooks up for the phone however as for streaming music it will stream for 2 seconds and cut out and wont stream any more, though others seem to have no issues.

Hmmm, it sounds like possibly a setting on your phone. So you've created a phone profile for calls on the El Grand, when you open Bluetooth on your phone and select the El Grand bluetooth and open the settings there, do you have Manage calls option set to on?

Hi Colin, unfortunately there is no way to change the language to English that I'm aware of and the time adjustment can only be adjusted by +59mins or -59mins

Once you created the profile it will automatically connect to the selected profile. So if you have 2 phones and you want to switch to the other phone you would have to manually select the other profile on both music and audio calls for the phone to operate on both those channels through the car system. You won't need to create a new profile each time, the car stores 6 profiles I think it is. If the profile is already active from the last time you were in the car all you have to do is have bluetooth on in your phone and it will automatically connect.
Mate, I follow all the instructions here but seems the main problem for me is how I can turn on my Bluetooth..it is showing off in the screen and cannot be pressed to turn it on. Could you please help..thanks
Hey mate, if it can't be selected I'm not sure what the issue would be sorry. There is a way you can turn bluetooth off and on but even with it turned off it will allow you to go all the way through to select a phone profile.
When it disconnects the Japanese voice is just telling you essentially 'bluetooth connection is lost'. My wife has a similar issue with her phone where the music drops in and out, unfortunately we've isloated it down to her phone being the issue as it happens on other bluetooth devices.
The only drop outs I've encountered recently are when I'm trying to pair my phone (Pixel 7). I usually hit the disc button and cycle through the modes to 'restart' the bluetooth connection. Usually holds pretty stable after that.

Ah I think somewhere in the menu there is an option to turn bluetooth on and off, but I can't remember where in the menu it is

Same problem here. I think Elgrand is set to answer calls automatically which is the problem but I can't find the option on the Elgrand screen

Hi, not with the default system in there. You would have to have a third party system installed as the stock system is only programmed for Japan.

I think you only setup the phone profile, not the audio profile which is the 2nd part of the video if you follow it all the way through

The time can only be adjusted by adding up to 59 minutes. Someone else has made a video on that.

Once you created the profile it will automatically connect to the selected profile. So if you have 2 phones and you want to switch to the other phone you would have to manually select the other profile on both music and audio calls for the phone to operate on both those channels through the car system. You won't need to create a new profile each time, the car stores 6 profiles I think it is. If the profile is already active from the last time you were in the car all you have to do is have bluetooth on in your phone and it will automatically connect.
Mate, I follow all the instructions here but seems the main problem for me is how I can turn on my Bluetooth..it is showing off in the screen and cannot be pressed to turn it on. Could you please help..thanks
Hey mate, if it can't be selected I'm not sure what the issue would be sorry. There is a way you can turn bluetooth off and on but even with it turned off it will allow you to go all the way through to select a phone profile.

What does it mean if you’re Bluetooth keeps disconnecting by itself when you’re playing music? It says something in Japanese but I can’t understand it
When it disconnects the Japanese voice is just telling you essentially 'bluetooth connection is lost'. My wife has a similar issue with her phone where the music drops in and out, unfortunately we've isloated it down to her phone being the issue as it happens on other bluetooth devices.

The only drop outs I've encountered recently are when I'm trying to pair my phone (Pixel 7). I usually hit the disc button and cycle through the modes to 'restart' the bluetooth connection. Usually holds pretty stable after that.
Hi Mitch.. after I click Menu.. then Phone... My Bluetooth button is grey out cannot be clicked on. How to fix it?
I've heard that some people have to turn on Bluetooth in the menu somewhere, however I haven't looked into that so not sure sorry
