BAULENI TACKLES GABAGE PROBLEM

A local cooperative, in Lusaka's Bauleni, has been engaged to collect waste from households in the compound, for onward collection from a designated dumping site in the area.
MABINI Cooperative comprises 25 wheel-barrow pushers, who are expected to sort the collected waste, for onward resale to recycling companies.
Lusaka Central Member of Parliament, MARGARET MWANAKATWE says she hopes this initiative will end the indiscriminate dumping of waste in Bauleni, and on the ZNBC land, opposite Bauleni clinic.
Ms MWANAKATWE said this today, when she took part in a cleaning exercise at the illegal dumpsite.
