picture the contents too if there are expensive things inside -for insurance- Take several angles of the bag. Many folks add tape stripes or decals etc to make their bag unique
@@cynthiakerford4458 I go a bit further than that. I place a 8x10 picture of my face both on top and glued to the inside lid (if I have one) I caught a guy trying to walk off with my bag once and when I called him on it (he already tore off the tags) he created a ruckus. Security was about to let him go and detain me when I said I could irrefutably prove it's mine It took a sergeant to realize that I had a point and when they opened my bag and saw my smiling face there, the full on arrested him on the spot. (his protestations were the reason the went full on with him) But I didn't lose my stuff. It has worked for me twice in 30 years but I'm OK with that
Here’s a little tip. I was traveling out of the country and I decided to begin packing like 2 weeks before the date. I decided to make my den the place where I would pack all my things at . My den is next to the kitchen. Little did I know that everything that was already packed up was just sitting there soaking up the smells of whatever I was cooking that day. Going back and forth to my suit case, I didn’t smell anything because you become immune. Well, as soon as I got onto the plane (tight space), I opened my travel purse and bammm! The food smells hit me. When I got to my destination and opened my suitcase, it was the same smell. I was smelling like a whole pot roast my whole trip. No amount of perfume could cover that. Anyway, don’t pack your bags around the kitchen or strong traveling smells. 😂😂😂
This is hilarious but relatable. I always have a staging area too but mine is in our bedroom. I do put a dryer sheet in my suitcases...just because. I mean who doesn't love the smell of a good pot roast!! hahahah
I always pack a fanny pack and wear it under my coat or sweater onto the plane. They never count it as another personal item, and I put in it all the things I will need for the flight. Once on board, I take it off, lengthen the straps fully, and hang it over the tray in front of me (the tray can still close for take-off). Then I can use it as a sling to elevate my feet. Perfect for long-haul flights.
Southwest sure counted my AER day sling 3 max as a another personal item. Of course it was shown because I didn’t have on a sweater or coat because of the hot weather. I also had an AER backpack and my carry-on spinner. But i ended up gate checking it. And I also saw them make another dude consolidate his fanny pack before he even went into the jet bridge.
Don’t do TSA pre-check, do Global Entry instead and you get TSA pre-check with it. It’s marginally more (you pay $100) but is a huge time saver when coming back into the US from abroad.
AirTags are the best. We went to Egypt and on the way back home, we had a long layover in Canada. My suitcase was mistakenly put on the carousel, but my husband’s was supposedly transferred. Needless to say, his bag was still in Canada while we were home. So we had to wait for it arrive, then wait until the luggage claim was open to retrieve it. The AirTag allowed us to tell the clerk at the airport that his luggage was there and we weren’t leaving without it. We got our luggage and left. 😊
I can't say how much I enjoyed this presentation. Suffice it to say that I stopped it at every point and add a point to my to-do list for the Paris trip in 2 days. Awesome, and a totally engaging personality. I have been traveling for years, but I learned a lot here. clearly, this is the BEST travel tip video. I get anxious even before a 150-mile auto trip--yet I LOVE traveling. You really made a difference for me in this video.
Apply for Global Entry. It's the TSA precheck for both international and domestic travel (at all US airports). Clear is not available at some airports. Global Entry is $100 and good for five years.
TIP: Clear is not with every airport, but TSA Pre Check is. Also, Global Entry is great if you travel abroad it's 5 years as well and it takes over TSA Precheck, so you will have 5 years of Global Entry that will start immediately, and if you let it expire you will still have whatever years you had for TSA Precheck left over before Global Entry started.
Sis, I lowkey shed a tear...thank you! Tip: upgrade to 1st class for even one segment of your flight to get upgraded checked bags instead of paying for overweight/extra bags. Definitely subscribing!
I use compressed wash cloths. They’re about the size of an Alka-Seltzer tablet, maybe a little smaller and they expand when you put them in water or run water over them. 👍🏾
YES!!! and cheap like borsht too! You can rehydrate them using bottled water, so contamination from alien/untrusted water is reduced. And they make great gifts to fellow travellers in certain circumstances. I also use a water bottle bidet.
🔺 airline employee here! Another tip, don’t check in 2-wheel bags… we hate it. We’re unable to roll it to our guys who’s in the bin that’s about 10-15 feet away so we’re gonna have to toss it as hard as we can to get those bags to the other guy. Then ends up getting the most damaged.
Good to know but some of us are taking our bags on buses, trains, and wheeling on cobblestone streets. The 2 wheeled luggage are easier and more durable imo for these types of trips for me. Also 4 wheels can get pretty beat up. I can replace my 2 wheeled luggage but rarely 4 wheels. If getting in and out of cabs or Ubers 4 wheel is ok but can’t the beating like 2 wheels.
@@mariebrown9415 honestly 4 wheel bags ain’t that bad. It’s usually cause people don’t want to invest in a good brand that’s more durable. You can still roll the 4 wheelers as two and I suggest Rimowa luggage’s or Nomatic luggage’s.
@@EAF_Visuals I’ll look at Nomatic. I have a small 4 wheel Rimowa carry on which I like and a Briggs & Riley 2 wheeled compression carry on ( bought extra set of wheels kit which are easy to change- haven’t had to yet) and a Tumi 4 wheel . I’m an over packer and use European trains and buses a lot and some trains you have to step up into them and get off quickly . Elevators broken , and often lots of steps at smaller metro and train stations - that’s my problem. My back can’t take heavy back packs so I wheel a lot. Solo traveler. Thanks for the suggestions. Will look at Nomatic .
I LOVE this video. As someone who travels A LOT, I clicked this video extremely fast. If you don’t want to be loyal to any particular airlines, I’d recommend Gold Alliance or something similar to build status with different airlines and transfer points between airlines. I can vouch for the Amazon cheap tech case, toilet seat covers, sani wipes, quick dry towel, air tag, and Monos luggage!!! I use all these items for every trip. You didn’t mention the hero clip but I also use one for travel and it’s been a game changer and has SOOO many uses. Also, yes on the stop by Hudson News! 😂 P.S. as a fellow germaphobe I’d recommend getting soap sheets. They look kind of like the listinerine sheets but it’s soap and dissolves with water. Super compact but totally useful.
New subscriber here! Just came upon your wonderful video while scrolling. Regarding the soap sheets, they're great. I always have them in my handbags as there's no guarantee of finding soap in public restrooms.
I use alcohol prep pads more than the wipes. I travel for extended time (3 mo at a shot) and I find wipes dry out before used up. Prep pads however are individually wrapped and contain Just alcohol and more of it per pad. You have to use it fairly fast once open as they evaporate quickly. but the last for ages when lefty unopened. They are considered medical too for TSA purposes. and you can put 100 in your bags as they are thinner than condoms but about the same size square. Minimal residual aroma too. even works when taking a pit bath should That need arise
Great tips! Disclaimer: My grandpa's house smelled like a hospital as he used ammonia and Lysol several times a day, so today as a germaphobe I use Lysol and ninety-nine percent alcohol in a spray bottle right as hand sanitizer typically only has about 65% alcohol. Also, don't forget to turn your work alarms off. There's nothing worse than waking up early on vacation when you could have slept in but can't get back to sleep because of the alarm.
One tip that has always helped me arriving on time for flight is to use the boarding time as my target time for flying. Never use the departure time as they close 15mins before and the typically start boarding 30-60 mins before flight.
This is my first video of yours that I've watched. From the editing, to your sweet personality, then you mention RAINS (I own 2 of their backpacks after seeing a girl in the airport with one) and Im officially sold on your channel
Regarding airline loyalty, when you hit certain levels with Delta or have their credit card, they will give you Clear as well as credit your purchase of TSA Pre-check or Global Entry. And speaking of TSA Pre check, if you travel international you can get Global entry for $15 more and it includes TSA Pre Check.
Great video! One thing I have found helpful is to wear a travel jacket as it has lots of specific organization pockets to keep everything to where it’s not in your hands. Two brands I own are Apricoat Adventure 2.0 and the Baubax 3.0 Travel. Both are lightweight and can fold easily if it’s too hot at your destination. I will never travel without one again.
One of the things I did to get an 'extra' bit of carry on was to save a bag from the airport general store. I bring our snacks and food in it. The TSA doesn't care how many bags go through the X-Ray as long as it's not contraband. The staff at the gate and on the plane see my Cibo bag and think I bought my food at the airport. But I love the tip about having a bag hanging from the seat back, although I recently bought Air Pockets on Amazon when they were on sale. I'll see whether they work or not.
We are planning an international trip later this year. I have watched sooooo many of these types of videos. I've found a lot of great info but this video is by far the most detailed I've seen. Thank you!!!
I’m a germaphobe also. I stock up on $1.00 flip flops (Dollar store, or end of summer at Target $1.00 and wear in any hotel or ABNB shower. I toss them out the last night of trip after my last shower. Also double as slippers.
I have always traveled as a child I was a military brat then I went in the military, and now that I've been retired had a family I hardly ever travel. These travel, tips and gadgets are amazing. Thank you.
I’ve been traveling for 25 years, and I thought I didn’t need any tips, but I’m so happy I found your video!! So many helpful and useful tips, thank you 🙏🏽
OK go with me on this one. Luggage tags: I print up tags using the business card template on my word processor. Most leather or rubber tag holders use that size. I put my name and Destination (Hotel?) address on the face of it along with my phone number (in fairly small type, no everyone needs to know that number) At each stop along the way I switch out the tag for the next destination. I use paper not card and I can put all the tags in the holder at the same time, with the Next destination one faced Out. I put a nice number in a circle (like a logo) in the centre so I can see at a glance if I have switched yet. Colour printing makes it cool too. I also put a 8x10 picture of my face Inside the luggage. This has saved me twice now from folks who rip off the tags and claim yours as theirs. While it's true that some luggage does look alike, 99.9999% of all luggage does NOT have my face inside. I also brig along a dozen or more bite sized (like Halloween) chocolate bars to give as tips to folks where money doesn't make sence. or as trades to fellow tour mates Our Canadian tastes different to many folks and shows me as thoughtful too.
I use a suitcase cover with a unique design on my carry on. It provides protection in overhead bin and prevents confusion with other carry ons. Rarely use on checked bags because fear that will make difficult for tsa to remove and may slow down luggage if they need to get inside. Instead use luggage handle wrap like you or unique luggage tag or colored ribbon bow on handle.
I watch A LOT of Travel Tip videos all the time. This video was so enjoyable. Such a great list. I didn't know about the TSA App. I have used tripit on desktop years ago but didn't know they improved the App function. Loved your delivery of information. Really good information and well presented links for everything. All the information provided was not just recycled content that other vloggers or youtubers cover. I really found a LOT of value and different information than I typically see. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for the travel tips. The luggage rack is a good idea. Never ever put your suitcase on the bed because the bag may have picked up parasites while traveling. When I return home, I put my luggage on the porch and spray it with bug spray before I bring the bag into the house. Also, some credit cards will pay for your TSA precheck membership. Credit card travel benefits are a whole other level of perks to enjoy but only if you are very disciplined with your money.
Another tip especially if you’re an international traveler and a us citizen you need global entry which is $100 for 5 years and it also comes with tsa precheck and when you return to the USA you don’t have to stand on that long immigration line, you stand on the global entry line which takes about less than 5 minutes to go through
Love this!! Glad I'm not the only one who packs alcohol / disinfecting wipes for the plane and hotel, as well as their own pillowcase 😂 I'll def be looking into the travel towel (that'll be amazing even for beach days in the summer!) and trip it! I'm helping plan a friend's bachelorette trip to Miami in June so this video came at a perfect time and trip it sounds like it'll def be helpful!! Thanks for all the tips & tricks!!
I also carry my own towel, wash cloth and pillow case. spent a month traveling and wanted my own comforts as well as germ prevention. I only took a carry on and still had room for them. However,my towel was much smaller. I had plenty of sanitizer, wipes and toilet seat covers and TP as every country does not have it in their facilities.
Global Entry is definitely more worth it than TSA Precheck, but keep in mind that TSA precheck takes about a week to get approved, while Global Entry takes about 6 months
Haven't watched your video completely yet, but I just wanted to say, and I don't want this to come across as creepy, that your voice & tone is very pleasant to sit and listen to. So many videos I can't stand sitting through because the presenters voice grates on my ears. Looking forward to watching, and listening to the rest of the video. 🙂
OK, one quibble on luggage. If you are a frequent traveler, I highly recommend two-wheeled trailing luggage as the durability and longevity are superior to quad wheeled bags. It can be quite frustrating to navigate quad-wheeled luggage over non-smooth streets/surfaces. The larger dual-wheeled rubberized luggage easily trails and does not hamper travel on non-smooth surfaces. One caveat is that for super-large luggage over 50 pounds, the quad wheels are better for folks of smaller stature. Just know that the luggage lifetime is 2-4 years vice 5-7+ years for dual wheeled. Anyway, Love your videos and keep pressing forward. Cheers!!
As an off airport shuttle driver, I absolutely detest duffel bags of any sort... Especially the ones with the rollers. I will take a regular suitcase with the spinning wheels and the new ones that you cannot break into. Yes, they're expensive, but they're worth it these days! I've had my luggage handle cushion for years and it's green. Awesome video!
I am team ROLLING DUFFEL all the way! Most of my travel is adventure-based (hiking, biking, beaching) and those bags are the only ones that fit all my bulky gear. Also, I had no idea travel sized Lysol existed!!! I usually bring alcohol wipes to sanitize my seat and rental car and I pack a full size can of Lysol lol I’m a fellow germophobe for sure.
I LOVED ALL OF YOUR HACKS. I went straight to Amazon to get that towel because it's the only thing I didn't have. I had been going to Wal~Mart or Target when ever I travel to purchase towels and then I just leave them at the hotel when I depart. So glad to find another fellow germaphobe! Awesome channel.
I consider myself a pretty seasoned traveler (we fly non-rev on my husband's airline quite a bit), but you gave me some new tips, gadgets and apps to try out that I hadn't considered previously. THANK YOU!! Oh, and Hero Clips . . . Life changing!!! Awesome, super comprehensive video! 👍 (BTW, I'm team roller bag all the way! SPIN!!!!)
Great video...using many of your tips for my upcoming trip to Egypt! It's a vibe to see Black women travel and share their experiences...subscribed. 🙌🏾 #TeamRollingLuggage
I'm torn between team duffle and team rolling suitcase. I like that soft side duffles can squish into pretty full overhead bins and you don't lose any space with wheels or handles, and they're lighter overall. But - carrying them around in an airport during a long layover is definitely exhausting. Thank you for the very thorough and interesting video.
@@majlis2238 Ultimately I went to a hybrid duffle/backpack where you can use it as either one. Still not entirely sold but it's what I'm trying right now. I got "The Mile One" pack from Black Mile Gear. I've only done one trip on it so far, however. It worked fine for that trip.
Gr8 presentation info. I've been traveling for the past 35 years, nationally and internationally. Thanks because even as a seasoned traveler, it did pick up some of your great ideas. Don't let the grass grow under your feet...keep on keeping on!
Taking my first international trip in March and I’ve watched a lot of videos and read A LOT of articles so thank you for your suggestions. 😁👍🏽 Team rolling suitcase. Duffles hurt if they are heavy! Lol Safe travels!! 😁🙏🏽
Love this video. I am all about sanitizing and use soap sheets for hand soap and laundry...one trick I use is to clip things to my carry or backpack. It saves room in the bag and no one sees to care
I'm a unique case. I use a wheelchair. My hands are busy pushing me. So, rolling luggage doesn't make sense. I use a duffle on my lap when I travel alone. When I'm traveling with someone else, I use my rolling bag and just let them pull it. lol
Oh my! Stumbled on this video and fell in love with your content and vibe. Truly felt like we were two friends just hanging out and you were schooling me on the good stuff. I have even subscribed.
I always pack a salux 'towel' - it's made of scratchy material, meant for washing not drying. They're about a yard long so I can get my back. Take up almost no room in my bag. Gotta exfoliate even when I'm traveling. Skin doesn't take care of itself!
Team rolling case! I watch a lot of travel hacks & travel items videos, and truthfully this was the best! I’m so surprised your videos hadn’t popped up. And your voice is so calming! 😅 thank you!
I'm team duct tape/colorful cloth for identifying luggage. I think my mom was embarrassed for me but I have no trouble picking out my luggage ever. As far as I'm concerned the more outlandish the better 🤣🥰☺️
Hands down the BEST travel hack video! Thank you thank you thank you. I only have a couple of things. For a long time luggage was black or red. Husband and I traveled a lot before we married and we both came with black luggage. He always had a thing of those plastic zip ties in many colors and used the colors for our initials on the handles. Mine are Red and Amber (yellow) and I don’t remember his. What color goes with M? We were married almost 30 years, he put them on a few months before we married and they are still there, indestructible, 30 some years later. I never mistakenly grabbed his bag and they are easy to see on the carousel, they are clipped and near the end of the handle so they don’t hurt your hand and they are cheap. Plastic, I know. But I will bet most of us already have some in a junk drawer/box/shelf. I forgot the other one and no doubt I will remember after I post this comment.
I definitely enjoyed this video! Thanks for plugging those travel apps and other suggestions. Now that you’ve done air travel - what about some suggestions for road trips?
I went to Europe about a month ago, and I knew I was going to do a lot of walking while also having the possibility of carrying around items bought from a store. I decided to buy a lite day backpack that you can fold up into a pouch the size of a small purse. I was able to stuff it in my carryon, but when I was out and about on excursions I could carry around some more cumbersome things with easy by opening it up to its full size. Plus it became my 2nd carryon item that I could stuff under the seat.
The TripIt app is such a good recommendation! Love that it’s free lol. I’m travelling with my partner for 3 months in Europe and we are doing a regular backpack each and a larger rolling suitcase for checked in luggage.
I LOVE this video! And the vest is everything 🙌🏾. I have yet to fly and plan on doing lots of traveling this year so this is what I needed. P.S. - You are my fellow germaphobe friend in my head lol dont let them judge you 🤣 Yes we can be extra, but its necessary lol.
I like your tips....and you're not alone with the pillow case. Not only do I bring my own pillow case, but I bring a vinyl mattress cover protector, my own sheets, wash cloth and towel. I use nothing in a hotel and I'm afraid of carrying home bed bugs. The vinyl mattress cover is always in a bag by itself and I throw it away at the end my trip. I always put on the "Do not disturb" sign on my door, because I usually keep a clean room all the time. I don't need anyone to come in and re-arrange my stuff 🙂
By far the most informative video I’ve found in prep for my trip to Greece. First international trip since I was a child. Great personality without being extra. You also have a great voice.
TEAM DUFFEL. I know I'm in a minority I think, but if you're not checking it and are able bodied enough to carry it - duffel! Can fit so much more. People with rolling bags always almost trip me, and take up a lot more space in the overhead bin, so more likely to be made to check it. Plus I feel like they take forever to get down from overhead after landing.
I love it. Even before Covid I clean down all surfaces. Folks is nasty. Another thing I bring is house shoes. I get a pair from the buck 25 store for hotels and cruise cabins at the end of the trip I just toss them. My bare feet never touch the carpet.
For carry on packing, I'm team duffle. It almost always fits under the seat if needed. Or I can smash it into tighter spaces in the overhead. But I only pack carry on for shorter trips. Over seas, I usually check my bag. If I do bring a rolling bag as a carry on, I'm not doing the four wheels. But that's me. They stick out too far and are too prone to breaking (especially if you have to gate check and the baggage handlers get ahold of it...). I always bring plastic grocery bags or small trash bags. I have some that just live in my suitcase until needed. Perfect for dirty laundry or wet clothes or packing shoes in, or just whatever. I've never regretted bringing them with me, I'll just say that. Before buying my good luggage, I kept an eye on what pilots and flight attendants were using. Bought some of that. Oh man. There's a reason they use what they use. Tough as sh*t. And if something does break, 90% chance you can go back on the website and order a cheap part to fix it yourself. Most of their rolling bags have these roller blade wheels on them which just feel so so nice. They are so smooth and quiet. Extra nice when you're the tourist tryin to get to the airport at 5am, dragging your bag across cobblestone streets. Game changer. Can't go back to hard plastic wheels. I think I spent a solid 5 minutes just pulling my bag around the house when it got delivered. Lmao! Every time I pull it out to pack for another trip, I gotta make a lap around the house with it. Oh & most of the bags are made so that they fit down the aisle of just about any plane. No need to turn it sideways. Like my larger bag (medium sized, so bigger than carry on but not the max size for checked luggage) is kind of an tall rectangular shape so that if you're an airline employee who gets to bring that in the cabin, it will roll easily down the aisle.
Great info!! Recently saw a TikTok where tsa showed how you can use a pen to bypass the lock on the suitcase. Unfortunately, he didn’t say what type of luggage you should get. From what I can remember he said a zipper enclosed suitcase but I have no idea what that could look liks
I have a United Chase card. They credit your account if you use it to pay for Tsa pre check or Global entry. Not sure if other airlines credit cards have similar benefits.
I have watched a LOT of travel hacks videos but HANDS DOWN I like yours the best. You really showed me things that I haven’t seen on others channels especially the “sanitation section”. Thank You! Thank You!
For me, since you asked about duffle bags, the only time I would use a duffle over a rolling luggage is on road trips. You can just put in the trunk of your car and pick it up to your hotel where it might be obstacles that prevent you from rolling your luggage, like stairs, bumps, cobblestone, etc. Never for a flight.
So for the headphones the key words are Active Noise cancelation. I emphasize active, because if you pick up passive noise canceling not realizing then they're not really noise canceling. Also global entry does include TSA Precheck, so if you're considering international travel it's a must have. I'm surprised you didn't mention travel credit cards. From insurances to free global entry/precheck and clear it's so handy to make your journey through the airport more comfortable and gives peace of mind with various insurances. No it's not gonna be everyone, but if you can justify it, I think it's a good way to do it.
I travel with my own neckpillow and with my own flight blanket. Lightweight easy to pack in my carry-on and it’s mine. I also travel with a pair of footies. If I have on sandals to travel when I get to my seat, I takeoff my shoes and slip on my Footies or if I have on sandals and I’m at that one airport that even though I am global entry asks me to take off my shoes. Recently, we’ve taken our wipes to wipe down the seat, armrest the tray table, and the screen on the back of the head rest, as well as the buckle to the seatbelt.
9:59 Oh, you're a germaphobe, too! Thank you for including it! It's so hard to find TH-camrs who talk about it. I'd love to see a what's in your bag tour or something. 19:24 also love the luggage rack idea!
Thank you for your video. I don't care for thick towels and washcloths so I pack a camp towel and thin Walmart washcloths. I buy the cheapest luggage possible and it still lasts for many, many years. I like to think that thieves look at my cheap luggage, assume I have no money and nothing worth stealing and they move on to that $700 Away carry-on bag. I get cold easily and always take a blanket or two. I like the Travelrest 4 in 1 Travel blanket because it has a slit for your head so you can wear it like a poncho and aren't fussing to keep pulling it up. I even take it to the movie theater. I drink a lot of water. For concerts and other events, I take a collapsible water bottle made by Nomader. It is easy to roll it up, get past security and then fill it up inside the venue. For flights, I have 1 and 2 liter bottles made by HydroPak and Platypus that are very durable. You need to have a cup to pour the water into for drinking. REI carries a variety of collapsible cups. Another option is a hydration bladder, used by runners and hikers. The bladders have a long tube attached that you drink from. Hydration backpacks with an included hydration bladder are on sale at Big 5 Sporting Goods frequently for $30-40. The backpacks appear slim but actually have a number of pockets and can be filled with a lot of stuff. I like to travel with a travel jacket. It has 20+ pockets and you can carry a tablet in front and a laptop in the small of your back, plus a lot of other items. Airlines are getting fussy with regards to the size and type of on-board luggage. European airlines will even weigh your carry-on. But...they can't force you to remove your clothing yet. The company I bought my jackets and vests from (I have several) seems to be out of business, unfortunately. They made knockoffs of the Bau Bax jackets at a much better price and much better quality. Look at Scott eVest, Magellan's and TravelSmith for ideas. Lastly, I always have to have my TRTL travel pillow. It looks odd but is so very comfortable. I fall asleep quickly and stay asleep. I use mine daily as I commute to work in a vanpool. The drive is over an hour and most of us sleep.
Don’t forget to take a picture of your checked bag. They always ask for a description when you report it lost 😊 loved your content.
I always do that!
picture the contents too if there are expensive things inside -for insurance- Take several angles of the bag. Many folks add tape stripes or decals etc to make their bag unique
@@MoonbeameSmith I also put an index card in the inside of the luggage on the top with my name, phone number and email address.
@@cynthiakerford4458 I go a bit further than that. HAHAAA funny story!!
Not a whole pot roast 🤣🤣🤣
Hollered!! I hate smelling like a big piece of chicken
This is hilarious but relatable. I always have a staging area too but mine is in our bedroom. I do put a dryer sheet in my suitcases...just because. I mean who doesn't love the smell of a good pot roast!! hahahah
thats one funny story... the little things that we dont think about
I always pack a fanny pack and wear it under my coat or sweater onto the plane. They never count it as another personal item, and I put in it all the things I will need for the flight. Once on board, I take it off, lengthen the straps fully, and hang it over the tray in front of me (the tray can still close for take-off). Then I can use it as a sling to elevate my feet. Perfect for long-haul flights.
good tip, Billie-Jo :)
Thank you for sharing.
Delta just started counting Fanny packs. I used to do that too!
what does fanny pack means? like a childrens backpack?
Don’t do TSA pre-check, do Global Entry instead and you get TSA pre-check with it. It’s marginally more (you pay $100) but is a huge time saver when coming back into the US from abroad.
Thanks!
Some credit cards - credit you back the cost of GOES - Amex & Chase sapphire
THis is the pro tip, clear isn't everywhere and is quite pricey for what it does.
THIS! Learned the hard way!
The wait for Global entry is really long if you need to go somewhere soon
Thank you for kind words!
Apply for Global Entry. It's the TSA precheck for both international and domestic travel (at all US airports). Clear is not available at some airports. Global Entry is $100 and good for five years.
Global Entry comes with TSA Precheck
Best investment I ever made... Wooosaaah
Only thing is my appointment isn't until October 😩😩
And if you have Chase preferred card, Global entry fee will be reimbursed
@@makeupbyashley828If u travel international before October just go straight to the interview when you return, bring the approval letter with you.
Yes, I mentioned the same but less eloquently. Lol.
Sis, I lowkey shed a tear...thank you!
Tip: upgrade to 1st class for even one segment of your flight to get upgraded checked bags instead of paying for overweight/extra bags.
Definitely subscribing!
Good tip here as well with the upgrade! Thank u for subscribing! 💯
Aww! We just noticed the tech pouch you have from us. It's an honor to be shown in one of your video!😍
Yes to the travel towel, shower shoes, and wash clothes! The travel towel was a game changer for me! Light, quick drying, and compact
Yasss! Put me on! I didn’t know about Gold Alliance or the soap sheets! Noted! 💯
Is it the star alliance gold status? When I looked it up that’s the first one that popped up.
@@alisaucedo3674 Yes. My bad. Typo on my part. That’s the one.
@@TheTravelingMujer thank you!
New subscriber here! Just came upon your wonderful video while scrolling.
Regarding the soap sheets, they're great. I always have them in my handbags as there's no guarantee of finding soap in public restrooms.
The sanitization portion really resonated with me. I screamed “Tribe!” when you mentioned all the things I do and bring on my trips as well.
Yesss! U are welcome here lol
@@Techmeout Subscribed. Happy to be apart.
Google 70% vs 90% alcohol cleaning power. Hard to believe, 70% is better.
One tip that has always helped me arriving on time for flight is to use the boarding time as my target time for flying. Never use the departure time as they close 15mins before and the typically start boarding 30-60 mins before flight.
Travelling in 10 days after 3 years. Can’t wait to try these tips/hacks out 😆
This is my first video of yours that I've watched.
I could listen to you talk all day!! Lol very soothing
Clear + TSA PreCheck = Dream Team ✨ Makes traveling such a breeze. Sad I didn’t do it sooner! 😅
I carry a Fanny pack with multiple compartments. It’s very convenient
I love my baubax gear!
I recommend Global Entry instead of just going for TSA Pre.
I’m a germaphobe also. I stock up on $1.00 flip flops (Dollar store, or end of summer at Target $1.00 and wear in any hotel or ABNB shower. I toss them out the last night of trip after my last shower. Also double as slippers.
Same! Glad I’m not the only one! Lol
Why so many flip flops only to toss them in a landfill , it seems environmentally cruel and careless.
That is actually smart, they make travel scrubbing bubbles wipes and I plan on wiping down the bathroom with thoae as well.
So many helpful and useful tips, thank you 🙏🏽
OMG THE TOWEL!!! Using random towels makes my skin crawl and mine take up so much space in my luggage! Thank you!!!!!!!
This strategy works with not only airlines but hotels and taxies too.
I definitely travel with my own towels, pillow cases and washcloths among other things. You are definitely not alone lol
I also use luggage packing cubes to keep everything in my suitcases organized and compartmentalized!
TripIt is my JAM! Been using it for years. I even go back to recall where I’ve been and stayed
I love a luggage rack but do you carry it with you? Most hotels have them but Airbnbs/verbose don’t.
@@patriciamoney4310 Good question. I don't yet have a luggage rack. I don't use Airbnb or VRBO because I have so many hotel rewards to use.
Lol I throw the bixtch in the closet lol and I always keep it on the floor lmfao love y’all tips
The sanitizing segment gave me life. Yes to the traveling towel and own wash cloth ❤
While I was in Jordon a few months ago, I forget my pillow case in one hotel and therefore didn't have it for the next hotel we moved to.
Team Rolling Suitcase! Easier on your back and in case you have to run for your flight.
Yes! I learned the hard way. My duffle almost laid me where I stood lol
@@Techmeoutthanks my dear. Btw your smile is so freaking cute ☺️
Team rolling duffle!!!
@@sheilahsutton3516 The BEST of both worlds!!
Use a suitcase trolley to move it around, saves alot of energy ;)
I’ve watched a ton of travel videos and this is hands down one of the best! I actually learned a few new tricks. Thank you!!
That seat cover is a game changer! Thanks for the recommendation!
And I’m DEFINITELY team Rolling Suitcase!
Thanks for sharing these great tips. 👏🏾👏🏾
Duffles are annoying to carry but unlike wheeled suitcases, I’ve NEVER been forced to check them.
Gr8 presentation info. I've been traveling for the past 35 years, nationally and internationally. Thanks because even as a seasoned traveler, it did pick up some of your great ideas. Don't let the grass grow under your feet...keep on keeping on!
Great video! I feel you on sanitizing, using your own towels…etc. PS: I spray my socks with Lysol after I have to take my shoes off.
Taking my first international trip in March and I’ve watched a lot of videos and read A LOT of articles so thank you for your suggestions. 😁👍🏽 Team rolling suitcase. Duffles hurt if they are heavy! Lol Safe travels!! 😁🙏🏽
Then pack lighter. Most of the stuff (except for medicine) you don’t really need.
When I'm traveling with someone else, I use my rolling bag and just let them pull it. lol
I LOVE this whole video!
Shown such great tips and awesome recommendations! Exactly the content Im looking for 😭
Team backpack (personal item) and carry-on suitcase. The duffle can get too heavy. I use one for driving trips but that's it.
Yessss sanitation section is giving me life!!!! I always wipe down my seat, tray table, seat belt and buckle and any light/screen/buttons.
Skin doesn't take care of itself!
those are the best!
I use the African net sponage
Team rolling case! I watch a lot of travel hacks & travel items videos, and truthfully this was the best! I’m so surprised your videos hadn’t popped up. And your voice is so calming! 😅 thank you!
Queen City STAND UP! I love seeing people from my city doing youtube things!
Turkish towels are great for travel! They absorb a lot, dry fast and can get super compact
Ooo! I’m taking notes! Thank u!
I wasn’t even looking for anything to do with travel but this popped up lol.. greats vid… the algorithms are working!
Your voice is so calming.
Thank u! 🤗
With how many traveling videos I’ve been watching recently it’s really refreshing to find some new tips I never even considered!!
I definitely enjoyed this video! Thanks for plugging those travel apps and other suggestions. Now that you’ve done air travel - what about some suggestions for road trips?
This is would be great
I went to Europe about a month ago, and I knew I was going to do a lot of walking while also having the possibility of carrying around items bought from a store.
Okayyyy! Let it be said! 🫶🏾
Thanks for a comprehensive content. It’s given me ideas for my forthcoming trip to the US. I’m from the Philippines by the way.
Great info!! Recently saw a TikTok where tsa showed how you can use a pen to bypass the lock on the suitcase. Unfortunately, he didn’t say what type of luggage you should get. From what I can remember he said a zipper enclosed suitcase but I have no idea what that could look liks
Okabashi breeze sandals (USA-made) can double as shower shoes, and when they wear out, you send them to the company to recycle.
I have a United Chase card. They credit your account if you use it to pay for Tsa pre check or Global entry. Not sure if other airlines credit cards have similar benefits.
Excellent video, thanks for the tips!
I have watched a LOT of travel hacks videos but HANDS DOWN I like yours the best. You really showed me things that I haven’t seen on others channels especially the “sanitation section”. Thank You! Thank You!
I’m glad it helped u out!
I am taking this video in mind, because I might be going on my first plane this summer! Thank you❤
Just loving this so much! Wish I had found you sooner. But now I know how to find you and I’m so glad thank you for such good ideas!
How you know I needed this vid? 😂 Right on time!
Preparing for my first international flight (13 hours!) This is so helpful. Thanks
You provide great content with just the right amount of humor! I’m your newest subscriber!!
