As I said, this is PRE-ALPHA footage but for what it is I think the game has come a long LONG way since the first trailer a few months ago. Graphics also have already seen a major improvement since this livestream video so the dev team is making tons of progress. What do you think of the game so far? For more check out the links below! Thanks so much for the coverage Terminator! For anyone watching just keep in mind this is a PRE-ALPHA preview, with plenty of UI and graphics placeholders (missing smoke, particles, color-correction, etc). I think you guys will be really happy with the next gameplay stream we do which will feature a lot of leaps forward in visuals and gameplay. AI and battle graphics have seen a huge jump in progress too, we'll likely dedicate an entire development log to that progress in about a month.
I really think you've gotta update those graphics, it's what total war achieved with medieval 1. I play a lot of Noita so I know it's not all about graphics and more about gameplay but these battles look too basic. Great work so far but it's gotta become more immersive ❤
Anyway to portray a battalion without having that long continuous battle line? It will be more aesthetically pleasing if they moved by segments instead of one continuous line. I know its not possible to portray a real battalion size unit which is 1000 men in 4-6 companies but i like how ultimate general civil war has portrayed brigades by dividing them into 2 to 4 segments depending on the number of men in it.
I’ve been following this game’s development, Griff does many livestreams. His head is absolutely in the right place here, balancing playability with history. What makes this game most impressive is its focus on customization. No one has done that with historical strategy to any serious degree. You might also want to check out Bonaparte. It’s a TBS focused on the French Revolution. It also focuses on history-as-personal expression, but on a societal instead of an army scale. Gunpowder warfare fans are eating good for the first time in about 15 years-and we have indies to thank for it!
I think there are enough differences in the North American theatre that having it as a later DLC or a sequal makes sense. If it was a bigger budget game I would agree with you, but in this case I would rather he stayed smaller foccused for now. As for Spain, sure, that idea works for me.
ngl its sad to see that total war has slowly lost its identity but its good to see that a lot of total war contesters have started to grow and get more popular
This game needs a wiki page fast so we may learn the details on this game. For example, it would be cool if this game more features on the human side of units, such as units marching speed, gather/disperse speed, cohesion loss rate, etc. all dependent on unit experience and morale etc. and the importance of supply routes in campaign, and the ensuing marching / countermarching....

It feels like somebody had to make a game like this. The last good 7YW game was Rise of Prussia by AGEOD. BTW totally different from this kind of game.
The concept is good but these cartoonish low res graphics really throw me off..wish they were more realist and better looking than this..Looks almost like a Flash or Mobile game
A very large chunk of what you're seeing are just placeholders. Battles are missing smoke, a realistic grass texture, blood/dead bodies, post-processing effects, color correction, particle effects, etc. The preview is a very raw early look at pre-alpha, something game studios never normally share because of how rough they look. We are just going for a very transparent and open development this time around, which is why we're willing to show off even the rougher parts of the game. You will see some pretty large graphical leaps just within a month or two.
It's very interesting looking, and I might pick it up, but the visuals are clearly an amateur developer. Is what it is. Meh, probably will buy it tbh big nerdy style
As I said the graphics will be improving, it’s a pre alpha after all. He’s already upscaled the textures by a wide margin since this gameplay livestream
@@ramonalerkinomasturbio40 Not a bad thing to be skeptical, just sit tight and we'll be making continued progress in improving the visuals and pacing of the battles. The preview the video is based off of was originally for a small live-stream demo showcasing the first ever playable build of the game.

The least historian, historian.
Any chance 4 a U.S. civil war campaign ?

I like how the developer give freedom in customizing army and so and keeping the historical accuracy in the same time
Hehe, I was the one responsible for the naming of the IKEA Battalion

They should add Spain as a faction
And add a north american map

fingers crossed for AH and all his games. He and his team bring light to the genre with those fresh looks and takes on historic periods.
This looks really good, hope there will be multiplayer so me and the old man can have a game together.
Unfortunately no multiplayer is planned yet, but it's not out of the question for sequels or post-release updates if we're fortunate enough.
Griffin will approve of this Video
I do!

Not seeing any artillery. Didn't hear you mention it either. Same for the naval side of things. Does Britain start on the Continent?
Looks better now! :)

And yes: They have a dedicated developer working on AI, so there will 100% be an improvement!
I hope they add Polish-Lithuania Commonwealth
Well it didn't play a huge role in the war, so I think not.

the campaing is like mount blade or battle brothers
Not my cup of tea but glad ppl get some form of gunpowder game.
I am not so excited but I might consider trying it.

Its a pre-alpha. The graphics will improve

I really dont like the play popular marching songs in minor key as a fair use thing. its super weird.
The battles look exactly like total war, the AI even looks like the broken empire total war AI 😂
lmao the ai still acts like ETW's. constant reforming and moving around pointlessly while gettin shot. but its alfa so

I dislike graphics 🤢
They will get better :)
This is littelary PRE ALPHA.
Still workin' on em' Smaug don't worry! You're just seeing a pre-alpha build, nothing really polished or color-corrected properly.
The battle looks horrible
Its indie and pre alpha, give it some time dude 🤣 Looks way better than where things were 6 months ago
@@TheTerminatorGaming Jaja its true srry...Im worried beacuse usually the games that try to look like CA battles are a dissapointment
