I believe that Tuomas once mentioned that the last album Nightwish ever do would be an acoustic album. To envoke the feelings of sitting around a campfire, the same feeling the was to have inspired the band in the first instance and a fitting end.
This woman's voice...I found Nightwish's music back when Tarja was the lead and she was amazing. I dug the direction they took when Anette joined. But Floor...by all things above and below I can't even begin to describe how much I love her voice. I hate that I missed them when they came to my city in 2015, but with any luck they'll come close again.
Michael Downer me too. I’m from Brazil. I already knew Nightwish from back in the 2000, but never actually listen to them. Then one day I was waking on the street when I saw a Nightwish ad with Floor in it. I was like “wtf, they switch the lead singer again?”. So I watched the Wacken 2013. And O M G. What is this formation? They performed in my city as well, in 2015, but I couldn’t go. I stayed outside just listening to them.
BUT! In May 9 they will be in São Paulo, I will be thereeeee. LETS GOOOOO NIGHTWISHHH
@@ggiuliacosta Enjoy it for me 😁 They don't seem to do a ton of shows in North America, and even fewer anywhere near me. But I'll keep hoping.
@@yamuda They have actually held more concerts in the US than any other country including their native Finland. The difference is that in Europe it is easier to get to concerts in neighboring/close by countries, thus Europe as a whole has a lot more shows and as they are more popular their the shows are in bigger venues as well, more tickets available. Furthermore they get invited to big rock festivals in Europe giving even more chance to catch one of their shows.
US has had 169 Nightwish concerts. Only Finland and Germany have also crossed the 100 concert mark.
@@yamuda, I hope they come to the Charlotte area on their next US tour. I discovered Nightwish about 6 to 8 months after their last tour came by my area.
I will see them in november/december in vienna/stuttgart/munich. Doesnt know yet which one exactly.

This version takes me deep and way back into nostalgia, when winters back here in Finland were true winters. When you really had to plan how to dress to take the trash out :) I recall how it was to get out into the woods at 22:00 o clock during proper january night. The snow so crisp from cold, that you have to pump up the volume a bit, because the cracking footsteps were almost too loud. And then, at the perfect spot on a higher rock, just stay there and enjoy the cold. Feel how the beard stiffens. I had to breathe a bit sideways, because the steam would fog the vision of the stars on a dark, but still a slight bit pale dark sky due to the moon light. The trees would glimmer as if in glitter, because snow crystals of a thick layer of white beauty would reflect the moonlight just a slight bit differently. Every time you moved your head you had a new view. A slight smell of smoke, because nearby houses burned wood in their sauna stoves. And then, after a small while, the cold starts to envelop your body. Not in a creeping way, like moist cold wind does, but in a gentle and caring hug. And after a while it would urge you to move back home, because it reminds you how dangerous it can be. All this while listening to Nemo.
I love this cover, because not many songs can take me into such deep memory trance. I love Floor, she is amazing. The best and the beast... but even though I listen to this cover, I feel that Tarja's cold voice suited the cold much better than Floor's, amazing, hypnotizing, mythical yet warm voice.

It's amazing how this old song can still be re-imagined so beautifully. And as someone who has been a Nightwish follower since the very early times, I couldn't be happier that this mesmerizing angel joined the band when she did.

Mrs. Jansen, I wished more musicians, singers etc. would do what you are doing here. Not tied to one genre but instead doing all. That shows to me real skill. Singing folklore as good as opera and, of course, metal. I hope you become the inspiration of many new singers to come. I am looking forward to attending the Nightwish concert in Decembre this year.
