Yes that is Jeff Porcaro, and the guitarist is :Steve Lukather.
Lukather is also an accomplished session ace and was a close friend of Eddie Van Halen dating back to the beginning of Van Halen's career.

Steven you know it's the studio ace on drums Jeff Porcaro...can play anything, any genre...been on dozens of radio hits from many different bands. He was one of top 5 drummers of the 70's/early 80's until his untimely death.

The lead singer is Bobby Kimball, a very underrated vocalist.
If you want to check out a different side to Toto's sound, try "Georgy Porgy." It's got a smooth R&B vibe to it.

David Paich, on piano, keyboards and vocals; Steve Lukather, guitar and vocals; Jeff Porcaro on drums; David Hungate on bass and keyboards and Bobby Kimball on vocals; after Porcaro's death in 1992, Simon Phillips was on drums for 20 years and Mike Porcaro on bass after David Hungate left; it was also common for Steve Porcaro to participate on keyboards.

Toto started in the late 70's & has been performing for over 40 years now. They mix all types of genres in their sound. They have had some great hits such as "Africa", "Rosanna", "I'll Supply The Love", "Georgy Porgy", "99", "Make Believe", "Stranger In Town", "I'll Be Over You", "Without Your Love", "Stop Loving You", "Pamela" etc.

Literally the studio musicians that did MJ's thriller album. Steve Lukather on guitar. He's got great pipes too! His solo on this tune is one of my favorite. Bobby Kimball on lead vox. Yes, Jeff on drums, his brother on bass.
You and I need to sit out by the fire, listen to tunes and imbibe!!

You'd be amazed at how many artists have used these guys on their albums! These guys, individually, have been on thousands of albums. Steve Lukather has been one of the most sought-after guitarists in the music industry. One of the most popular albums he's played on was Michael Jackson's Thriller album. Their keyboard player was also on the album and actually wrote Human Nature. It's one of the biggest travesties that Toto isn't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!

  • @janleonard3101

Jeff Porcaro was inspired by John Bonham and Bernard Purdie, so if something he does sounds "Bohnham-esque" that's why. He plays on "Lowdown" by Boz Skaggs if you haven't reacted to that one already it's got a great groove.

Saw Toto open for Journey recently. The crowd really only knew 3 songs, they played at the end of the concert, but these 3 sounds especially “Hold the Line” sounded outstanding.
