Hey Jerry - So you can upload music onto TH-cam Music and then you can play your music through there. It's not a perfect service just yet, but it works well enough. Playing music directly from a PC though, is not possible.
Make sure you're powering it properly. If you have a different USB cable or a different wall plug...it may be undersized. Otherwise that sounds like a hardware issue....

Hello, I just moved, got a new iphone 14, and newly uploaded the google home app but the Google Home app is NOT providing all the options to connect with my google mini; in particular, it will not allow me to choose to provide any of my home wifi info.... Any advice?

Just have Google home app on your phone and Google assistant. Then be logged into the same Google account on both your phone and on the mini. Then ask for directions and it should try to send it to your phone. If it doesn't, check notification settings

I do live in college apartments. We share the same WiFi. Could that be the problem? I took it to my parents house to test it, and it worked perfectly. As soon as I brought it back to my apartments, it gave me the same error message.
There it is! Yeah, so WiFi in places like that do usually have restrictions that stop something like the GH Series from getting connected. Find the person who manages that network and see if they’ll help you!
Hi there, I have 2 google mini and I had set them up thanks to your video. Then along the way, I found a "link devices" and did that but now I don't want them linked anymore. I tried to un-link my 2 minis but it did not work so I deleted them and unplugged them both so I can start from scratch. That didn't work in my favour. I have the kitchen one set up but can't set up the living-room one and when I do "add a new device" it's not finding it. I'm not sure what to try next. Can you help me please?
Hi Anita - I would try a factory reset on your mini. I believe you'll find a tiny little button on the bottom to hold while it's plugged in. Hold it till you notice the whole thing reboot and you should have a bit more success.

So, carrier frequency has to be 2.4 GHz (not sure if 5Ghz works for mini but I think so). Also, I’d look at your security protocols and make sure they match up with Google’s. You’ll need to ask them specifically for the list of ones that work. Try support.google.com and start a chat.
That's very odd that it tells you to try from another device. It might be not connected to your WiFi. If you can't do anything else, then that's likely the case. Maybe try unplugging it and re-plugging it back in or moving it somewhere where you feel your WiFi is better.

That can still be your WiFi being a problem. Mini's don't really have a problem themselves, although they do tend to be one of the first to drop off a network for me. Take about half the things off your WiFi network. Then reboot your router/wifi system, then try again. Then go ahead and add things back in. Hi Julie - make sure whatever you're using has bluetooth turned on, and then stand about 6 feet away from everything. If your WiFi signal is good where you are, you may have interference from another device. Things...like microwaves or other WiFi devices!
Those are two totally separate things, so nope! Google Home Mini doesn't require any subscription to play music. Amazon Echo Dot doesn't anymore either, but both offer free music services that include ads if you don't subscribe. So if you want ad free and total music control, you have to get a subscription for about $10 per month to a music service.

You can try and get Bluestacks on a PC though. That's an Android emulator.

In the US and Canada you can just make a call using your home's internet connection. I believe the UK too still.

There's a little button on the bottom usually. It depends on the model, but if you hold that while it's plugged in for a while it should begin the process. Otherwise, go here: support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7073477?hl=en-CA

Your mobile doesn't need to stay on all the time, because you connect to WiFi! And no further costs if you already have a music streaming service!

My google mini keeps saying it cannot connect to the WiFi even when I have an excellent connection.
That can still be your WiFi being a problem. Mini's don't really have a problem themselves, although they do tend to be one of the first to drop off a network for me.
Take about half the things off your WiFi network. Then reboot your router/wifi system, then try again. Then go ahead and add things back in.

hi ,why is my set up different from ur ?also i kept getting an error , could not communicate with your google home mini , what do i put on home nickname ? ask for home nickname and address , and when i put my address , it said may not work with voice commands ?

Hi Julie - make sure whatever you're using has bluetooth turned on, and then stand about 6 feet away from everything. If your WiFi signal is good where you are, you may have interference from another device. Things...like microwaves or other WiFi devices!
I want to buy a Google home mini but my roommate told me u have to get Amazon prime in order for it to work I want to know if that's true.
Those are two totally separate things, so nope! Google Home Mini doesn't require any subscription to play music. Amazon Echo Dot doesn't anymore either, but both offer free music services that include ads if you don't subscribe. So if you want ad free and total music control, you have to get a subscription for about $10 per month to a music service.
