EVERY tech company serves its advertisers. Users are just cannon fodder.
How is that different from TH-cam, television or any media service? These are businesses that need to make money. They don't make it from their programing, they make it from their advertisers.
FB is pathetic in so many instances. They may serve their advertisers , but the bottom line is that they are nothing without their users, especially of a page that draws so many to the site and app.

Exactly Leah I am so grateful for your UTube videos! Facebook uses you - but it doesn’t protect you. Easy to get hacked and there are predators groups. I use it to stay in contact with friends and family. Even there I learn to beware. Sorry you got scammed. It’s like meeting people on a busy nosy street corner with pickpockets everywhere. Keep your information close - even games that want you to talk about likes, dislikes, travel, school - will use it to get into your account. Don’t play them. I have taught my sisters to use Facebook and they love it but it’s so easy to get hacked.

I’ve deleted my Facebook 10 years ago and never had a desire to restore it. We are the commodity they are selling to their real customers. There is no point.

I agree. I avoided Facebook like the plague. Until one day my mother in law asked me for some tech support. I told her I didn’t know Facebook. She asked if I would get on so I could help her. That started a nightmare. I got off Facebook back in ‘19 or ‘20 and haven’t been back.

I am 55, and legally BLIND since birth, and Leah is the reason I am trying things too! My mom just died at Christmas, and now I have her house, and I have some smallish repairs I need to do. I want to do them myself, because I need to learn HOW to do these things. I am a homeowner now! And I have no siblings, no children, and so Leah IS my go-to!!

I'm a Handyman and I've shared your tutorial videos with many of my clients to encourage them to repair things on their own, not only to save money but to empower themselves. It's unfortunate to see you powerless in this situation. Shame on Facebook. Shame on greedy folks.
Facebook has NO customer service if someone hacks your account. More and more people are dropping Facebook. I too love TH-cam much better. I’m so sorry this happened to Jane. Love your TH-cam channel.

It can be frustrating and challenging when you reach out to a support team for assistance with an issue, only to find that they are unable or unwilling to help you.
i closed my account a couple of weeks ago. I am openly conservative and was told something I posted was against community standards, wouldn't even say what comment it was. They said the determination was final and wouldn't allow any appeal. So, I'm gone.
For those who have not experienced having their business account hacked, it's hard to imagine the frustration you have experienced. The very same thing happened to my Facebook account which was hacked and hijacked. Before I could take action, my account was used to fraudulently purchase advertising for a company that sells women's spandex clothing. For months, I attempted to connect with Facebook customer service. The only response I received from Facebook was a suggestion to watch "How-to" videos on the topic of "what to do if my account is hacked." Watching information videos does not provide any actual solutions. The hackers had cleverly kept my name as a low-level part of the company - while making themselves with the only account authority to make changes on the account. It was a very clever strategy designed to block me from my Facebook account. Of course, I cancelled my account credit card to stop the fraudulent advertising billing transactions. I never did recover control of that account. I finally realized there must have been someone on the INSIDE of Facebook who was intentionally blocking me. I can only imagine that I had fallen into a sort of "black ball" list of people who have expressed certain conservative leanings. That's just a theory, but would explain why Facebook has allowed this to happen. It's not that they do not care - it's because they are intentionally blocking companies that do not match their ideology.
Once in awhile a loss like this is a gain. I recall once losing a database I'd built up over years of my record collection. When it was suddenly, irretrievably gone, I actually felt relief. There's a silver lining here. Perhaps not having to "do" facebook anymore is a blessing.
Facebook doesnt "help" and this has gone on for years with big creators.
Facebook encourages the bots and hackers it makes their platform look like it's more active when they got these hacks going on.
I agree, I had a person that worked for me, I fired him..and he opened a Facebook with my name, they would not shut it down after I emailed them, went to the police to make a complaint, and they still did NOTHING! Screw Facebook!

Leah, I’m so sorry this happened to you. You will get nowhere with FaceBook. As long as they get ad revenue, they don’t care. Smirking Mark Z ignores all these issues. I’m on the board of a small local nonprofit here in FL, and our FB page was hacked last year. Got nowhere and had to create a new page. Best of luck to you!
Ever since I was getting "friend requests" (or whatever the h- they're called these days) from multiple FB accounts with a name of a real person I knew (extended family member or old friend), like 4 different accounts all called "Stacy Jones" for example (not real name), I realized that FB is just a wasteland dump full of smoke and mirrors. I now avoid using it almost entirely.

If you don't pay for a product, then you are the product. You are not a FB customer, you are just part of their inventory. The people they sell your data to are their customers.

Unfortunately, almost everyone is hacked at least a few times each. Then the hacker will use to acct to scam people. When I say almost everyone. Almost every. And yes, it's very frustrating when there is no one to help.. sometimes you have to just get a new account. Thanks for your great content.
When Facebook started treating people like garbage they proved themselves to be garbage. The young kids have it right on this one... we shouldn't be giving Facebook our time (or what they really want, our data).

I deleted my FB business account a little over a year ago when something similar happened to me. FB was completely absent.
I also stopped using FB personally, even before I established my business account. I don’t think that they care, either.
Same, gone 4 years and don't miss it. It was mostly ads and people trying to make themselves look good.
I've been off for 4 years and don't miss it at all. I stopped participating in Twitter around the same time. Those platforms are for social engineering and distraction from all that's important in life. They're also tools to learn everything there is to know about a person. It's all collected and databased. That's not in ANYONE's interest but those parasitic few that want to destroy humanity. We need to stop helping them by walking away and getting back to what life was like before cell phones and social media.
But none of you actually "deleted" your accounts. You just deactivated them. You can never delete your account. For over 7 years now I've never logged into it once after disabling it, but I get dozens of messages from them every year telling me somebody tried to log into my account. I always reply back to just permanently delete my account, but nobody ever replies. And it's not a mailbox that doesn't accept replies either since I never get a message telling me the delivery was failed. All three of your accounts are still there, and at any point in time you could log back into them and reactivate them. So can anybody else who brute forces your password too, apparently.
I quit Facebook years ago and don't miss it a bit.

I got kicked off it many years back because i wouldn't accept their new T's & C's because they wanted permission to be able to track you even when you were not on their platform, as it turns out they actually did me a favour.
i could never understand why people posted their personal lives for the public to see with so many evil people in this world that could use anything in those photos against them.
My husband and I adore you and your channel. Thanks for all that you do and for the inspiration you give to so many... don't give up. You can do this!
This same thing happened a few months ago to another person I follow on Facebook. I hope they are caught. We need to stop these fraudulent actions. Contact your Congressional Representatives right away and have your industry friends do the same. We need to get Congress to take action.

When FB first appeared on the Internet I had an account to keep in touch with classmates and friends. I saw real fast it was all about keeping you on their platform all day validating others playing stupid games like 'buying' someone a few pickets for their Internet house. I tried to close my account then and it wasn't possible. This was probably mid eighties (I'm guessing) and I haven't been on that account since.

Im a retired Marine and someone on Facebook stole my name and profile pic I had during my actual retirement cermony speaking at the WWII museum. I had many friends inform FB and so did I. NOTHING HAPPENED. FB said they would ENSURE that IF Im offended that I am BLOCKED from the OFFENSIVE Page. Such BS.... Side Note: I have used many of your ideas on home solutions during my renovation to include a complete demo of my garage turned into a workshop. You inspired me to take on a project that other would not due to the risk...Blessings to you and your loved ones...

It's so frustrating when that happens! I lost access to my social media accounts due to a freak password-manager mishap a few years ago. It feels like being trapped in one of those mazes that people in white labcoats carrying clipboards and stopwatches are always training those poor little rats to solve, except I never got to the cheese, and when I thought I was about to they just teleported me to the start of a different maze. My heart goes out to you, Leah. You're actually creating the Internet, and without people like you, nobody would even bother with Facebook because who would care. The problem is, you are not a customer of Facebook. You are their product. They have customer service for their customers, but they will hang up the phone on you, because, to them, you are a product, and there are always more products to take advantage of.
Their product, their profits, is data mining.

My niece is a photographer and her page was hacked as well. I’m sorry this has happened to you. She did get her page back but after she had set up another. Took a hell of a lot of work .
I gave up on Facebook years ago. However, I didn’t have a following and it didn’t affect my business. My heart goes out to you. My fingers are crossed that you get it back. I hope the devious hacks responsible for this get the Karma they deserve.

I’m so sorry, Leah. I’ve loved See Jane Drill and relied on your videos for several years. I follow you on TH-cam and share your videos with others through those links. FB hasn’t been used-friendly for quite a long time now, and I’ve not been using it in a little over a year. The algorithms and poor security were so frustrating. The focus was on policing silly things while overlooking bigger security issues. Leah, we love you and support you, and we will follow you on TH-cam, Patreon, and other social media. My heart still hurts that you’ve lost all the hard work, time, and dedication that go into building a community following on FB so that people know how to find and connect with you and all the wisdom you share, only to be disregarded by the platform. I am so sorry Leah. This has happened to friends of mine and they NEVER got resolution! I reported the page and said it was hacked…but NOTHING. There are people in the comments on fb warning that the page has been hacked. Unfortunately, they are only visible when you select "all comments" instead of the default "most relevant". Facebook is an absolute disaster and I'm so sorry this has happened :(

We LOVE See Jane Drill. Until a few years ago my husband and I had NO CLUE how to perform simple tasks in home repair and so forth. Your guidance has allowed us to be self-sufficient around our home, with repairs and maintenance.

Jane, I am so so sorry this has happened to you. I have not used Facebook for years just because of friends and associates who had the same experiences. They don’t care, but trust me, your fans will find you and hopefully land on this video to understand what has happened. You are a treasure and we love you.

There are no real people at Facebook. It's run by AI. Leah you helped me 8 years ago build a set of interior stairs to code. It was the very first time in my life I ever picked up a tool and built anything. And I watched you on you tube no FB. You're a good person, this is the Lord's way of telling you to get off that evil platform.
