We live about 15 minutes from Bridgeville - down 404 on the Maryland side. And this storm was the most wicked one we’ve had! Extremely scary! Lightening struck the pole at our house that the transformer sits on. It struck one of our electrical outlets in our house causing sparks to fly! Thank GOD the surge protector did it’s job! Great footage you have here! Thanks for sharing!

I'm a storm chaser going on 20 years and lightning is by far my favorite to snap buuuuut, this is by far the most insane, frequent, vivid and beautiful lightning I've seen. My God. I'm absolutely speechless. 😳
I don’t blame the guy. Who would want their windows open to listen to the thunder better when there’s actually a somewhat decent chance of getting struck. Better safe than sorry.
I live in New Jersey and I remember learning about this storm. It struck portions of South Jersey once it exited Delaware. This is insane as monster type storms like this one only tend to occur out in the plains and are NOT really associated with the east coast. The worst and most memorable thunderstorm that I experienced here in New Jersey occured roughly 12 years ago now on September 16th 2010. That storm went on to produce two tornadoes in NYC in both Brooklyn and Queens. Two people were killed by those storms that day. I will never forget that event.
I was like oh my gosh! This is Delaware. Hadn't really read the title until after I clicked on the picture from looking at tornado videos. I'm from around DE and wow! We didn't get this not quite. Cool video!
Amazing video! This is the same system that spawned the EF1 tornado that passed within 100 yards of our house in Edgewater Md. Huge trees down all through our neighborhood, but amazingly no fatalities. Truly the most violent weather event I've experienced in the 29 years I've lived here.
@Mike Veis JESUS CHRIST ALMIGHTY and HE IS, what will it take to wtf up the people, go to end times and the two preachers on TH-cam regarding end time footage globally, AND THEY SHALL INCREASE, wait and see 😭
That is pretty impressive lightning going on there!😱 I can fully understand on why storm chaser's are drawn to these kind of storms, it was a beautiful to watch!
Now that was some extremely intense cloud to ground lightning. Haven't seen a thunderstorm with that much frequent intense lightning in a long time. I take it that there was a severe thunderstorm warning in effect for this cell?
That was a crazy day and night! One warning would post, then expire, just to have another post minutes later. I am horribly scared of storms, therefore this past week has been a trial for me. Can't wait till hurricane and severe storms season is over
That's some incredible lightning... I've been in a few storms with constant lightning, but never with so many nearby strikes happening constantly. I'd be freaking out... and possibly deaf by that point
Brilliant footage. There's a distinct period of maybe a minute as the positive CGs pass right through your location. I don't know how rare an experience this would be for a US storm chaser but here in the UK we can only dream of a storm like that.
Excellent video! I was at Treasure Beach in Fenwick Island as it passed to the north of us. I could see the entire storm from the base to the top, leaning very nicely towards the northeast. It is not very often we see a 'mothership' like this in our region.
Absolutely the best footage I've seen, and I've seen a lot!! I love that you captured the entire storm system!! I don't know why I haven't seen this video before.. Very weird.. Thank's for this great footage!! ⛈️🌪️⚡
Wow, just Wow. What a display of electricity. Some very frequent and serious lightning going on. We get nothing close to that up here in southern ontario. Great capture and thanks for sharing Greetings from Toronto
Years ago...like earlier 2000's, we got some good ones. I used to video them from north of the city...south side of Lake Simcoe. Still have them on video. Then, it seemed the weather patterns changed and a lot of these storms passed well to the west and north...heading towards and around Thunder Bay, etc. The ones that do move in towards us from the west tend to weaken a lot as the pass over land, not that I'd want another derecho experience like we had in 2022. However, I'd absolutely love it if we could get a few light shows like that!
Sussex County Delaware seems to get some of the strongest storms and most vivid lightning displays I have ever seen. Incredible! Thank you for posting this video

It's unfortunate that most cell phones/dash cams can't handle the sudden brighness of lightning flashes, resulting in those lines appearing across the screen. Back in 2012, I had an iPhone and it performed amazingly well. I videoed a storm with constant bright lightning, heavy rains and large hail... not a line to be seen.
