Thanks SIM SMITH for the instructions. Not sure if something's changed, but I had to add =1 to your target line to get reshade to load on x-plane launch. For anyone having trouble with this, you have to add " --allow_reshade=1" without the quotes in your reshade shorcut that Sim Smith instructs to create. AND make sure there is a SPACE before the double dashes. SO.... space--allow_reshade=1. Reshade wouldn't load with just " --allow_reshade" in the target line.
Inspirational video although followed the steps and no joy with X-Plane 11.5 (Vulkan) using Reshade 5.0.2. I am no stranger to Reshade as I have been using it for a few years without any issues on my previous computer (OpenGL). However, after upgrading my computer and, for the first time, being able to take advantage of Vulkan, I cannot get Reshade to work with X-Plane. I have tried pressing HOME key and F2 key but neither loads the Reshade GUI. Also tried the shortcut method you describe and also adding the extension with and without the =1 but still no joy.
Hi, I followed the steps but I can't get the reshade menu. What I didn't find were the opengl33.dll .ini and .log files and I created the shortcut with the path C:\X-Plane 11\X-Plane.exe" --allow_reshade

Hey there! Great tutorial however I am not able to open the settings once I open up X-Plane. I am not sure what you mean when you say that the default key is home.
Thank you for this tutorial! I followed all the steps, however when I start x plane through the shortcut and start a flight, it loads up all the way and then crashes to desktop. Do you know what this could be? Or a possible fix?
For those using 5.0.2 You need to add the ReShade64.json file located in the appData/Local to the registry. Instructions can be found at the end of this thread. reshade.me/forum/troubleshooting/6153-reshade-and-vulkan

@@MahlonBouldin Thank you! Although it is quite a thing that we have to hear it from your comment and not from the video...
Bruh, it always tells there is a problem with the short cut. I need help!
Bumping w/ comment so others can find literally the only useful video on this topic
This didn't work for me?
Hey there! Great tutorial however I am not able to open the settings once I open up X-Plane. I am not sure what you mean when you say that the default key is home.
Most US keyboard has two keys "HOME" and "SCROLL LOCK" above the cursor keys.
@@SimsSmith neither works for me .
Doesn't work with VR.... Or am I doing something wrong???
Hello! May you please do the tutorial for new reshade version 5.0.2 with VUlkan xplane11? Thanks
Does anyone knows how to disable the version and tutorial popup, I can't find anything to disable it

No idea what causes this. Are you using latest graphic driver? Anything in c:\x-plane 11\log.txt file?
Does it have any impact on FPS?
depending on what is done in the reshade. The one I use has no impact. forum.thresholdx.net/files/file/55-xephyr-preset/
@@SimsSmith Thank you mate, I will use this one!
