Thanks for the demo and your time. I have to say though, I am not a fan of the final result. I'm watching this on a 4K top-end TV and I'm thinking that it may just be the difference between your monitor and someone else's setup. I would best describe the look I am seeing as being like wearing cheap, too-dark sunglasses. The ground seems to be dipping into shadow rather than shade. I think there's an improvement on the definition of objects, but it seems cancelled out by the lack of light, or vibrancy.
I think so - for example, the only annoyance I had was the blue was a little to much, which I have now fixed. Reshade has changed again, so I am going to have to try it again and see what I can get!
That means it has not installed correctly - try reinstalling it (possibly give the OpenGL variant a go. Vulkan may have disabled itself due to a crash)
I feel like the installation is done correctly (who knows with these black boxes) but I cannot call up a menu for the Shader ? hmmm. Ill have to look again in the file(s) maybe there is a clue ... I dont see any ",,,setup" file either

You are very welcome! The only way I can think of is to go to the resources folder and the bitmaps, edit the skycolours file and that will change the colours. I know people on the X-Plane forums have done it, so there may be a download for some presets!
How long does the initial shader build take? Thanks for this and your other excellent videos. I have XP 11.5 beta 2 installed and running great. Earlier today I installed Reshade and set it up with the same settings you are using. Then shut down XP and relaunched. During the initial load screen, Reshade overlaid the screen with message saying that it would take a long time to build the shaders? I think, It’s been running for three hours and shows activity in Task Manager. I stoped XP task and restarted and got a message that there were 13 Effects to go. Is this what you would expect from your experience? I am sure that nothing has crashed and I do have a good size scenery folder, so I am reticent to shut XP down again and will let it run on overnight. UPDATE I got fed up waiting, so I took a look at the reshade.ini file. There was the following [GENERAL] NoReloadOnInit=0 I changed the setting to [GENERAL] NoReloadOnInit=1 X-Plane 11.5 b fired up ok and Reshade was working as well. I will do some testing and get back if I see anything of interest.
At 6:13 you mentioned "The initial key is Insert", what exactly are you "initializing" or what program does the "Insert" key start, X-Plane 11 or something in the ReShade_Setup_4.8.2.exe App that I downloaded? I pressed the Insert key while the program was running and nothing happened.
The insert key switches reshade on and off. If you press shift+F2 and nothing happens, I believe reshade has not installed properly, which will explain why the INS key does nothing
Reshade is great. I sort of need help, even if my reshade is toggled off, some plugin interfaces are extremely distorted and totally unusable, any advice on how to fix it?

" when I go into my X-Plane 11 properties the short cut tab isn't that, I created a shortcut for X-Plane 11 then went into properties but for some reason the short cut tab isn't there.
When you click on OpenGL - which I did not do because I am running it on Vulkan so did no want to rewrite my settings. But I recommend using Vulkan if you can.
@@ECGadget I installed it by removing the program from the registry and restarting the installation. However, going to OpenGL and back to Vulkan would have worked too?
I am not sure if swapping between the two would work. Reshade can be tricky on the installation at times, when it gets confused. Plus it changes so often this video could very well be out of date already!
reshade should pop up in the plugin admin option in the simulator or not? how do i do to make this window you show up once installed? i cannot manage to see it
Hey man, I have a question and would be extremely grateful if answered. So I followed every step you said to do, word for word. I also have never had reshade installed before. When I was finished installing it I loaded up X Plane and tried opening the menu by pressing shift f2 and nothing happens, I also tried the insert key like you said also and nothing happened. I downloaded it on Vulkan. Also my X-Plane is running off my D drive so would that have anything to with my issue. Also when going into my X-Plane folder I have the reshade-shaders folder but I do not have the ini folder, I do not know if it is supposed to be like that but at this point I am very confused. PLEASE HELP.
There should be a 'reshade.ini' file in your root X-Plane folder. If that is not there, that means something has gone somewhat wrong with the installation. Also, if you are using the latest X-Plane 11 beta, it does not work out of the box like this. You will need to create a shortcut to X-Plane 11, right click the shortcut, go to properties and on the Target path, add '--allow_reshade=1' to it. Also make sure the OpenGL version is not installed.
Hi this is great though one problem, I can not get the settings to open. I have tried shift+ F2 and many other combinations including insert as you suggested and nothing brings up the setting menu. Have you or any other experienced this.Or do you know of a fix?
I am not sure about that then - that sounds to me as though reshade may not be installed. You could take a look at the ini in the reshade directory and would tell you what the key is!
Nothing works for me: uninstalled, installed, vulcan enabled, ‘allow_reshade=1’ and crash to desktop... using a laptop with intel graphics and 1070. So when I use intel graphics it loads but slowly, if I disable it - X-Plane won’t start due to the error... Somebody, help!

@@ECGadget Just noticed it as well. tried to apply your settings by hand, but the result is very blue-ish in the end and looks overcolorized in the wrong direction. Hopefully, one find a solution to beauty up x-plane as it was before 11.50. xvivid preset for xvision was my favourite, but it does not work as well, due to lack of shader customization. Blue haze is nearly not present right now.

If you are using the new beta, check the additional new instructions in the description box. Worth trying that anyway. Adding in post processing can always be a problematic process, especially with X-Plane as it updates a lot!

Hello, thank you very much. First of all, it is important to know if it is loading. You will be able to check this by looking at the top of the screen when you start X-Plane. A Reshade loading bar should come up at the top at some point. Other keys to try are the Insert key, possible PgUp and PgDn, maybe even Scoll Lock!
Im getting this error: Encountered Vulkan Validation error! general error Failed to open dynamic library C:\ProgramData\ReShade\ReShade64.dll with error 1114 Anybody can help? Was workign fine some time back.
As Malik Brown said, it is vital that the OpenGL DLLs are uninstalled first, as I believe I have mentioned in the video. Otherwise it goes rather wobbly!
Did you do this step: "If Reshade does not work for you, you will need to create a shortcut to X-Plane 11. Right click the shortcut, go to properties and on the Target path, add '--allow_reshade=1' to it."? After I've done this, it worked for me. The key to open Reshade menu could also be "Pos 1" / "Home" key instead of Shift+F2 but it will show you on start up which key to press. Hope that'll help! :)

Hello! You are welcome. If you are missing the different effects, just double check that you had them ticked when you were installing them. All you need to do is run the installer again, select XPlane - Vulkan - and then tick the boxes when it gives you a list!
Hey, also just downloaded 4.6.1. The effects packages is different in this install from 4.5.4. I believe you need to select the Legacy standard effects to get the same ones as the vid. Let me know if you were able to replicate these.

@@ECGadget as far as I could see there is no way to uninstall ooengl at that screen, I manually removed the files from xp. But I could easily have missed something
Once I am happy with it, I will try to remember to share it. At the moment, I am not happy with the tones as such - and I want to get the depth of field working too!
It is only a matter of time before it does - I have tested it up to B4 and that has been fine. I will update to B6 after I have finished my latest aircraft review, and then I will see if there is a fix needed or just time.
@@ECGadget I managed to solve, just do the procedure below. Right-click on X-Plane.exe -> Create Shortcut. Then Right-click on the created Shortcut -> Properties. And then in Target: after "SomePath\X-Plane.exe" simply add --allow_reshade

How do I uninstall the OpenGL version??? I need to switch to the Vulcan one
You should be able to just go into the X-Plane Directory and delete anything that is related to Reshade

Click and drag it onto the desktop - it should automatically create a shortcut

It has to be after the .exe part, with a space and no quotes

I would, but these settings no longer work as I want them to. I am currently not running Reshade until I can come up with a nicer setup

Do you have Vulkan enabled? And also, reshade and X-Plane 11 are not two programs that always work, due to X-Plane updating
I have a massive problem, I installed it like in the video and the menu doesn't show up. I'm using Vulkan btw.
I removed it with Vulkan after a while - it gets a bit unstable with it not working sometimes
@@ECGadget I fixed it, you need to make shortcut of X-Plane 11 and add the line "--allow_reshade" after that it worked.

I think personally it looked way better with the reshade off.
I think the blue ruined it overall, I use it without reshade currently!

my xplane doesnt detect reshade at all and i followed the video
Reshade does have a tendency of breaking often. Check the description and try that as well.

Because I already had it installed on Vulkan, hence I could not click on the OpenGL radio button, which I said to click on for the yes/no to appear
@@ECGadget as far as I could see there is no way to uninstall ooengl at that screen, I manually removed the files from xp. But I could easily have missed something
It could be, OR they may have changed it again. Reshade changes so often, which is why I do not use it myself anymore

Doesn´t work with 11.50 B6 !!!
It is only a matter of time before it does - I have tested it up to B4 and that has been fine. I will update to B6 after I have finished my latest aircraft review, and then I will see if there is a fix needed or just time.
@@ECGadget I managed to solve, just do the procedure below.
Right-click on X-Plane.exe -> Create Shortcut.
Then Right-click on the created Shortcut -> Properties.
And then in Target: after "SomePath\X-Plane.exe" simply add --allow_reshade

i got no reshade in beta6, help me :(
You will need to create a shortcut to X-Plane 11, right click the shortcut, go to properties and on the Target path, add '--allow_reshade=1' to it. Also make sure the OpenGL version is not installed - that should do it.

I recently updated my x plane and re-shade doesn't work with Vulkan :(
Beta 6 does not work with Reshade currently, but that should be fixed soon enough!
