Tentatively, I'd like to pick a place in each area. Lots of logistical planning involved for a 30 day trip. The diverse weather gives me trepidation also... After Vegas, I have 3 places most will not be expecting. ;)

Great review! I went to Riu in Los Cabos, Mexico about a year ago and the experience was very similar. The parties are insane! The foam parties and dj's and the experience is the best anywhere! You don't need to go to any clubs. The whole resort was luxurious and everything was impressive. The pools is Riu los cabos are massive, the food and grounds incredible. The only downside to the los cabos Riu is the beach which is unswimable and dangerous, the current is deadly, you cant go in ankle deep, it pulls you in, its crazy scary, but you can still suntanon the beach and then the pools make up for the lack of a swimable beach. . The Riu quality is so worth it. Now I'm inspired to try other Riu's!

I enjoyed your video. I've been following you since I went to Riu Naiboa almost 1 1/2 years ago. You were the reason I went to the Riu Republica. And you are right, the Riu chain gives you amazing value, so much so that I have been at all the other Riu's in Punta Cana, except for the Riu Macao. I would skip the entry-level Riu Naiboa, as well as Riu Bambu, because Bambu is way too big. The last 2 times I stayed there, my room was about a quarter mile away from the lobby, which sucked. The Riu Palace Bavaro was awesome, with more pools and bars than Riu Palace Punta Cana, and for that reason I would select Bavaro over Palace Punta Cana, but you really can't go wrong with either in my opinion. Out of all the Riu's in PC, Republica delivers on so many levels. They party hard there, but you can still find peace when you want
We stayed at Riu Palace Macao for a week in November and had a blast! Beautiful beach! Great bartenders! Partied my face off at the white and neon parties too. Highly recommended!
Nailed it James! You don't stay at these properties for the food, it's the pink, neon and jungle partying! Republica does have the Jerk Chicken BBQ but proximity to the Party Zone really makes the Palace the better option!!!
@@Coolist My only caveat to that is I can handle life at an Excellence, Majestic and other luxury resorts for extended periods. Go much longer than a week at a Riu and the pace their would kill me. The Riu has built the ultimate party facility and they really do a great job. I am interested if you have seen a equivalent anywhere, especially given it is "the routine" for this resort chain in the DR. Are there equivalents in Vegas?
For all inclusives, I've yet to encounter anything similar to the unique and great experience of fun/value that Riu provides, yet... The closest thing in Vegas is probably The Linq

I recall the hesitancy and skepticism with the idea of going to "all-inclusive" when you first set out for Punta Cana. I sensed you were expecting the Golden Corral with sunshine. Its time for a some more top ten videos!!! You have the knowledge base and expertise. Take DR and Mexico together an tell us the top 10: luxury resorts, party resorts and your "best value" resorts. I have no idea how you remember them all. A week in a Riu and life can become a blur.

Loved RIU Palace PC! We were there in 2022. The food was good, the pools were great, and the beach was fantastic. I skipped the RIU Party as it's not my "cup of tea." Loved the coffee bar Cappuccino! Skipped the bar Daiquri (I don't drink). I agree, the value you get staying here is unreal.
The Riu Punta Cana beaches are amazing. The Riu Republica beach is a smaller and thinner strip, but that stretch is even more beautiful in my opinion. If the parties aren't your thing the hotel probably isn't for you, but a beach day is worth the trip (if you haven't been) 🏝️
Glad you went to Riu again... Pools are not many like you said but you have access right next door to 3 other Riu's and can use their pools.. so in reality, you have 8 or 9 pools.. not counting the Republica which is 20 minutes walk to the left down the beach. Also but not 100% sure, you can eat at the other Riu's Buffets and get drinks. At least I did.. :) If you go back to Republica.. try the spanish restaurant.. steak is pretty good there.
Trying to decide which Riu for next June,, ahhhhh they are all so badass. But leaning republica. For the adults only. Still don’t understand why their sports bars are so bright. But anyway thanks for these videos. Once we stayed at Riu palace peninsula we are sold on the brand! Hope you do a Macao review. Sure like the idea of the party in walking distance… are you able to go to the other Riu’s if you do a palace like they do in Cancun?

Stayed at the Riu Reggae in Montego Bay recently. Loved the smaller Adults only resort with exchane privileges. All 8 of us thought the buffet was much better than the specialty restaurants.

@@Coolist I really don't think it's too oversaturated. Your content is of premium quality while there only 4-5 high quality cruise content creators. If you concentrated on the ship experiences rather than the actual ports of call, I think you would do absolutely fantastic!
That's exactly what I would do. Ports of call have zero interest to me. Dropped off at an usually isolated port location for 8 hours with a hard time limit to return... I don't think I'd even leave the ship lol..
@@Coolist Honestly we have seen so many of the ports we typically stay on to. All the pools, bars, restaurants, and staff almost all to yourself! it is epic!

They are a few special hotels in a certain area I've intentionally left for my next trip. This has been by far the best one yet, but That lineup will be incredible.
@@Coolist Yeah, the best time to come here is probably from October-May when the sargassum is not an issue. We've just been staying off the beach but we took an excursion in Bavaro and the water was much clearer up there.
I think October is the most underrated month to visit. Incredibly cheap rates and at the end of rainy season. Historically, it's supposed to be one of the rainiest months, but I MUCH prefer it to April.

I stayed at Onyx Punta Cana after staying at the Riu Republica because good ole American airlines canceled my flight. The Onyx is nice. More Family oriented or for couples. Not the Party spot if that is what you are looking to experience.
Interesting that you refrained from rating this one. I definitely think Riu Republica is more up my alley overall but, based off of what I've seen here, this Riu Palace is probably a 3.5 in my eyes. 🍉
Zara always with the discerning prism. Yes, omitting the ranking is anomalous - it's either done for purposes of video flow or continuity. It was a 3 - you were right on :)
Riu Republica 💯, but it isn't in the immediate complex -you can't just stroll to the parties regrettably. Rather, it's a shuttle, which is fine, but certainly not an easy 2 min saunter.
Is Riu Palace Macao in the running?? It is Adult only, close to Riu Party.... but pool scene at Macao looks like it could possibly be lacking compared to Republica... I am thinking we should save $500 at Republica, have more fun, better vibe and make the most of the bus ride to the party.
Hey James.. .met you at Republica in the spring. Been there 5 times and was planning on going back early November but oddly they have a minimum 5 night stay....due to my schedule I can only do 4 nights. I prefer adult only and trying to figure out an alternative that is as much fun, gorgeous beach, etc. Haven't been back to Cancun in a while so considering that. Live Aqua PC looks great but seems they are booked solid when i want to go. Royalton Chic looks so small. What would you recommend for a solo traveler?

Punta cana is the #1 most visited City in the Caribbean - it's literally like this every month. Only thing that changes is the weather minor and biological/geological things like seaweed and tides. As far as the experience, dates are irrelevant - except you will pay higher prices from Nov - Apr (dry season).
great party. no towels allowed. tried to take them from our resort, they said no. down hill tile floor caused many people to slip and fall. I got lucky and did not die. fell over ropes and hit my head. terrible response to this accident. "just go back to the resort" we did and the "doctor" on staff said i was fine. got back to USA and found out cracked my skull, broken jaw, bruised whole right side of body. onsite doctor said I was fine.
Ou buffet experience at Riu Bavaro was AWWWFUL about 2 months ago. DEspite everything being under the heat lamps and hot plates, EVERYTHING was cold. Maybe they’ve improved.
Lovely resort but no air conditioning in our room. This was very uncomfortable after a day & night of hard partying. And absolutely no help from management👎🏻
just a general comment seems like the Punta Cana is the only place that does Foam Party's ,we have been to several resorts in Mexico & never seen them there, in my opinion we had more fun in Punta Cana
You must have hit it right I went there at Christmas %& the food was shocking the room service was a joke. It was as if they had just opened it was so bad I would never ever stay in a Rui anywhere in the world again. The look of the place is incredible but it's like buying a pie with a nice pastry crust but rotten maggots inside. I suppose if your an alcoholic you would enjoy it there but no not for me sadly.

Interesting that you refrained from rating this one. I definitely think Riu Republica is more up my alley overall but, based off of what I've seen here, this Riu Palace is probably a 3.5 in my eyes. 🍉

Riu Republica 💯, but it isn't in the immediate complex -you can't just stroll to the parties regrettably. Rather, it's a shuttle, which is fine, but certainly not an easy 2 min saunter.
Is Riu Palace Macao in the running?? It is Adult only, close to Riu Party.... but pool scene at Macao looks like it could possibly be lacking compared to Republica... I am thinking we should save $500 at Republica, have more fun, better vibe and make the most of the bus ride to the party.

Hey James.. .met you at Republica in the spring. Been there 5 times and was planning on going back early November but oddly they have a minimum 5 night stay....due to my schedule I can only do 4 nights. I prefer adult only and trying to figure out an alternative that is as much fun, gorgeous beach, etc. Haven't been back to Cancun in a while so considering that. Live Aqua PC looks great but seems they are booked solid when i want to go. Royalton Chic looks so small. What would you recommend for a solo traveler?

So I stayed at RIU Santa Fe Cabo. I am now taking my friend to enjoy RIU but in DR. Would your recommended staying at the Palace for the theme parties or República (Adults Only). 2 Single Males
I know theres the shuttle. It was just so much fun being close to the theme parties when I stayed in Cabo.
3-4 nights each one, with the weekend at Riu Republica

There must be something wrong with me, those parties look like my vision of hell on earth. You couldn't pay me enough to subject myself to any of them. Actually, you could, but it would many thousands of dollars. Anyway, thank you James, for subjecting yourself to them and saving me from a fate worse than death!
I don’t know James, I’m still riding with Riu palace Baja California as the best Riu period!! The rooms were more modern, the food was great and the parties are even more better there! What do you think?

It would be helpful if you would mention the dates of these visits to these resorts, to get a better idea of the vibes that are going on!!
Punta cana is the #1 most visited City in the Caribbean - it's literally like this every month. Only thing that changes is the weather minor and biological/geological things like seaweed and tides. As far as the experience, dates are irrelevant - except you will pay higher prices from Nov - Apr (dry season).

great party. no towels allowed. tried to take them from our resort, they said no. down hill tile floor caused many people to slip and fall. I got lucky and did not die. fell over ropes and hit my head. terrible response to this accident. "just go back to the resort" we did and the "doctor" on staff said i was fine. got back to USA and found out cracked my skull, broken jaw, bruised whole right side of body. onsite doctor said I was fine.

Ou buffet experience at Riu Bavaro was AWWWFUL about 2 months ago. DEspite everything being under the heat lamps and hot plates, EVERYTHING was cold. Maybe they’ve improved.
Lovely resort but no air conditioning in our room. This was very uncomfortable after a day & night of hard partying. And absolutely no help from management👎🏻

just a general comment seems like the Punta Cana is the only place that does Foam Party's ,we have been to several resorts in Mexico & never seen them there, in my opinion we had more fun in Punta Cana

You must have hit it right I went there at Christmas %& the food was shocking the room service was a joke. It was as if they had just opened it was so bad I would never ever stay in a Rui anywhere in the world again. The look of the place is incredible but it's like buying a pie with a nice pastry crust but rotten maggots inside. I suppose if your an alcoholic you would enjoy it there but no not for me sadly.
