For this he had to convince Youjeen because she is an older Korean punk rock singer and was worried her style is too strong and would over power the song but he wanted that punch. He was absolutely right too. She’s perfect. Her voice is like a firework exploding in the song. It’s a damn near perfect song and album.
True! He totally knew exactly what he wanted and what his song needed, then he convinced everyone and did it! A lot of the artists and producers he worked with had some kind of circumstances that might have hindered their participation (like Youjeen's concern, Docskim thinking of retiring, etc.) but RM knew how important these people are to make his vision come true. I'm so proud of him 🥹 The album has everything I could ever want in one.

For some reason I wasn't as sad as a lot of people were when this came out. I took it more as him finally able to feel more comfortable and confident in himself and letting go of what he wants while still embracing the little things.
My sister didn't cry either and she's an RM biased lol. I, on the other hand, cried but that's just because I get emotional pretty easily. 😂 However, I think it's also because there's still that longing feeling lingering in the air, even if we interpreted the lyrics in a positive light. And the reason behind this might be because of a certain key the song is set in. 😅

bts have constantly been talking about a “new chapter” not because they disbanded or whatever, but because they now have to do their mandatory military service. They have no choice but to “leave”. they have no plans for disbandment and have talked about it several times. while conscription itself is heartbreaking, I’m glad they see the positives in it and are giving us the things they’ve been working on individually before they enlist.
RM wrote this 4 years ago. Listen to the whole album it ends in a positive place. Jin started his military service yesterday. The others will be following and coming back together in 2025. It's all good just growth and change.
I came across this very randomly, so I decided to add a few Korean anecdotes here: (a) youjeen is the vocalist for a band called 'cherryfilter' and she is in her mid 40s. She is also a professor and teaches pop music for a university. (b) The word 'fireworks' in Korean is 불꽃놀이, which would be 'fire flower play' if you would translate word for word into English. So the lyrics in the chorus says 'light a flower, flowerwork', and this is probably more clearly understood if you know Korean. "Wildflower" and "fireworks" are metaphors of RM himself.
This is RM’s memoir of his 20s (per him) and this song really feels like a magnum opus of the album. He really put all his feelings into and he had a clear vision which he executed perfectly and beautifully.
This is the song that RM lost 100 files for. He said he couldn't duplicate/recreate the emotions in the original files. This song is still a masterpiece.

It’s like a sad happy feeling. Sad because it’s been so long since he’s been able to create music he really wanted to, and loosing himself in all their successes. Happy because this is just beautiful, and you are sooooo proud of all of them, that’s the emotional part because you know exactly why they made these songs, and it has just a big meaning, behind the songs. It’s like you know something really special and secret about the songs, because you fully understand what’s going on and there are no guesses about what’s happening.

The first time the chorus broke, your reaction was just like mine. I wasn't expecting it and it hit like a brick wall. I was so overwhelmed that I almost started crying. I was waiting for you to check Wildflower, Yun and Still Life out. I just expected you to get excited about the vocals from Youjeen. She soars. Now I want to check out her stuff with her band Cherry Filter. I agree about the feeling of being excited and interested in the solo work of the guys and still feeling a sense of loss or ending for them as a group. I do believe they will be back together eventually. You cannot deny the chemistry they have, but it will be different. That doesn't mean less or bad, but different and I think a lot of us are holding on to them as they have been. People grow up, life happens, and things change. KPop holds on so tightly to youth culture that it is jarring when the reality that people grow up happens, even for us far from our teens and 20s people. Today, as Jin enters the military and Suga's impending responsibility comes into the conversation it hits a little harder that time and people march forward. Thanks for sharing. He said that he's already started on another album. I would check out his whole album though. He took his poetry and stories and made them into 10 stories in 10 genres and collaborations with 8 awesome artists. He managed to weave all of that into a cohesive, genius masterpiece.

I also love this chapter of solo because I can better appreciate the individuality of each member and they will also be able to discover abilities and talents that they had not even suspected. They are going to come out of this era more grown up musically, emotionally and above all, they are going to know exactly the direction they want to take as a group after the SM.

I would also recommend for you to checkout his album, Indigo. It’s insane how I love all of the 10 tracks. RM is so versatile and in Indigo he have insert so many different genre and work with many artists who he respected and have admired outside and inside Korea. Highly recommend Still Life ft Anderson Paak and Yun ft Erykah Badu. One of the tracks in Indigo (his latest album). Erykah send his wishes and even check on him every now and then.

This album is so special, unique, and intricate, all written so beautifully as we can always expect from sir Kim Namjoon, even some of my family who doesn't stan bts the way I do listened to Indigo as per my recommendation and loved every second, and now even have started digging a bit into bts. They're starting to listen to me because of this album, and have even agreed to throwing a small bts party before christmas next week to watch ptd la. I'm so excited to see how they react and guide them into the world I've been living in with bts for over two years now. When I say this album is changing my life for the better, it really is true.

I also love this chapter of solo because I can better appreciate the individuality of each member and they will also be able to discover abilities and talents that they had not even suspected. They are going to come out of this era more grown up musically, emotionally and above all, they are going to know exactly the direction they want to take as a group after the SM.

I would also recommend for you to checkout his album, Indigo. It’s insane how I love all of the 10 tracks. RM is so versatile and in Indigo he have insert so many different genre and work with many artists who he respected and have admired outside and inside Korea. Highly recommend Still Life ft Anderson Paak and Yun ft Erykah Badu. One of the tracks in Indigo (his latest album). Erykah send his wishes and even check on him every now and then.

This album is so special, unique, and intricate, all written so beautifully as we can always expect from sir Kim Namjoon, even some of my family who doesn't stan bts the way I do listened to Indigo as per my recommendation and loved every second, and now even have started digging a bit into bts. They're starting to listen to me because of this album, and have even agreed to throwing a small bts party before christmas next week to watch ptd la. I'm so excited to see how they react and guide them into the world I've been living in with bts for over two years now. When I say this album is changing my life for the better, it really is true.
