Matthew I will! I pray that you become the kind of priest that brings people back to the faith. I have had experiences with great priests and others who should maybe take a look at the way they treat people. So without further ado, I pray you become a priest that draws people in to hear what you have to say. And believe in you enough to return to Holy Confession and trust you with their sins.

Praying for you. I’m married to a pilot who just retired after 39 years of flying. Because he flew for both the Air National Guard and a commercial airline, he was always gone for days or even months at a time. We had three young sons, one of whom was very high maintenance, to put it mildly. It wasn’t easy, but we made it through. I give great credit to the sacramental graces of holy Matrimony... and to the intercession of Our Lady in Saint Joseph. Blessings, peace, and strength to you all.

Had a husband in oil industry with lots of travels into dangerous waters. It was hard sometimes. But we managed. A suggestion would be to set expectations. Because when he returns, he'll want to go back to normal. But you'll have established a new routine. So his normal and your normal will be out of sync. Keep communicating and stay firm in your marriage vows. And on the bright side no fighting about the remote. You've got this!!!

Ah, I remember that day when my parents dropped me off at college and that's it. It's just me now. It's sad and it's scary, but that being alone encouraged me to check out the local Parish and Catholic Student Association and I made lifelong friends I never would have met if I wasn't on my own (I'm shy, so I only had one or two friends before college).
It's gonna hurt and it's gonna be sad, but in my case, those turned out to be the best years of my life up to that point and me and those college friends still look back on those times fondly. Praying your experience is just as Blessed!

Am a young nun, 1,5 year in the congregation and just experiencing both of this types of loneliness: Jesus's with congregation and Judas's with my sin, falling out of the rules- unorganised etc. Just found out after 22 years😭that I have ADHD (which makes me unorganised and not sticking to the day plan) but still waiting for the professional diagnosis so can't really talk about it while still being misunderstood and still judged as"chaotic one". So hard...😞
( please don't get me wrong, I love my Sisters, they just don't know, as I didn't)
I am gonna wach this once again every day until We (Jesus & me) will resurrect from it.
Please people, DON'T JUDGE OTHERS! It can slowly kill anybody.

This video brought me to tears when I realized all the times I had to be alone. It started when I was 10 years old and my deceased paternal grandfather said "YOU have to take care of Grandma." I would fulfill his request 12 years later and I was the ONLY one who could do it. I am an only child, but sometimes this doesn't make it any easier. Saying the eulogy at my parent's funeral, having the talk with my daughter's boyfriend who was asking for her hand in marriage, and finally having to deal with Stage 4 colon cancer when you think you're dying and you have so much to say to the world. But, then I remember my wonderful daughter and son-in-law, my priceless neighbors, and the many members of my parish who pray for me and all the little children who help get rid of my depression every Sunday just by being.
It is then that I realize I'm not alone and I am the richest woman in the world. Thank you for this video

A suggestion for a practical application of 'going it alone' (in the good way!) - say Grace before you eat, wherever you are. I started saying Grace in the lunch room at work a few years back. I don't say it aloud, but I cross myself and my lips move so anyone who happens to notice knows what I'm doing. The first few times I was pretty embarrassed and had to force myself, but after that it was fine. (And one guy, a Russian Orthodox, got the courage to start doing it too! ) It's only a little thing, but sometimes little things can make a big difference.
    Just a thought.

Aloneness without God is like going through an absolutely dark and long tunnel; and because you totally can't see anything, you eventually hurt yourself by falling into dangerous traps. But aloneness with God is still going through the same dark and long tunnel while holding an inextinguishable lamp. And despite the fear and sadness, you can see things clearly now and you are able to avoid those traps. And with that light accompanying you always, it will eventually lead you to the way out. Like as scripture clearly tells us, "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path." (Psalm 119:105) ❤ Happy Easter everyone!

I needed this so much right now. I feel anxiety before I go to my internship at the coroner's office and I have a lot of anxieties about my career path. I know God will guide me but, I know it is up to me to do the work and take the necessary steps to make it happen. Take the Greyhound to Philly, show up early, do the work, with no expectation of a reward culminating in a full time job. Just openness to whatever may be. I just hope that I am on the right path with God as I pursue my degree in Forensics. This video helped me because it made me ask myself, am I alone like Jesus, or alone like Judas? I realized I am not betraying anyone or doing anything to harm anyone so I have been able to answer this question thanks to you, Fr. Mike. Thank you and God bless.

go to confession for this sin then mass. every time it happen go to confession again then communion. if possible go to daily mass. consider this as project. Pray the rosary daily too. The blessed Mary will put you under the Mantle of her protection. this is not an overnight solution, it will take time. when your willpower is not enough, ask the holy spirit’s power. ask your guardian angel too, always. God wants the best from you and he knows how to purge you. He is letting you face this challenge to develop your virtue. the whole heaven is there for you. God Bless.

Today I had to 'go it alone' as I took Holy Communion to the Residents at the Care Home where I work. Prior I would go with a church friend. When I asked the priest today, whom would be coming with me, as my friend was unwell, he said "You". I felt alone, afraid and lost to know what to do. Then I said to the priest, "God is with me". So off I went. Well... God was certainly with me! He lead the way for me. Thank you Father God!
So Matthew, do not be afraid.... God is CERTAINLY with you. God Bless you and Thank you from my heart for what you and all priests are doing for the world. Steven.

    Fr Mike,
Although I agree with you fully, the act of going to bed each night is also a practice in hope. I hope to get a good night sleep, I hope to wake up the next day, I hope to do all things tomorrow for the honor and glory of God.
It’s like planting a tree or planting a garden. You probably wouldn’t plant it if you thought you would be dead before harvest.
Planting yourself in the bed is the same way. Or, someone planting you in the earth likewise. Faith, Hope, and Love.

Amen, Fr. Mike. Everyone will experience aloneness at least once in a while in their lifetime regardless of their status/situation. But in that moment of loneliness, there's a chance for us to really hears God's voice as He's inviting us to do His Will through these unique moments in life that let us sit back a bit and to meditate and discern various things in our daily lives.
And this is not just moments of solitude, but rather it's the moments of God's Glory showing us the Way, the Truth, the Life through His Light that guides us.
For it has been written, God does not leave us alone in the world, but He's always by our sides whether we know it or not.
    Deuteronomy 31:6
    Genesis 2:18

This was such a beautiful perspective on aloneness that I never thought about. During holy week I found myself feeling so sorry for Judas and wondering why things ended the way it did. Like many people who commit suicide they feel like in their aloneness they can't reach out to anyone, even though God is constantly with them. I know because I've experienced it. I pray for all people who feel alone and abandoned in life to know that God loves you regardless of what you have done and is ready to show you love and mercy. You can share your pain and sorrows and he will deliver you. Thank you Father Mike! God bless you and all Ascension presents 🙏🏽❤️
