These old Hilux's are very well built cars. New car's are not built to this level of quality I dont think. I have a 38 year old YN55 with a 1Y engine. I love it I dont ever plan to sell it I also had the carburettor rebuilt but I sent it down to Wilson Carburettors in Victoria. After it came back the car was running heaps better
Nice Hilux's. I have the red one's brother in orange and my brother has the yellow one in white. These are Nikki carbs and certainly benefit from rebuilding. The secondary diaphragm rubber perishes after 35 plus years and creates a vacuum leak if not replaced.
Mate from memory I ordered the kit. Nothing complicated. Stock carb kit for an 18r-c. same carb was fitted to multiple toyotas. I was likey through ebay but i am pretty sure online auto parts have them also. Anything extra I needed Carby Bob supplied. Hope that helps.

I'm keen to hear how it drives with the carby sorted out. Mine has that same hesitation and occasional 'hiccup'.
