This is a great travel trailer for someone who wants a hardshell dry warm safe place to sleep when out in the elements.
Its also a good option for someone who doesn't have RV parking. This camper can be compressed and stored in the back wall of most garages.
It can trailered or attached to the back of a vehicle like a bike rack.
It may not be for everyone but I think there are a lot of people who might like the micro size yet hard side comfort.

At that point, I'd just sleep in my car
Me too. That’s an insane price for that!
@@andrewdocherty8651 Just buy a van.
I love the idea but with 10k you can get a decent trailer or a brand new cargo trailer and do a conversion with that amount
The sizing concept is just terrific.......the price is fucked up.
He says he’s 5’9 like he’s a giant, look at all the head room! 😂
These are pretty cool though.
That price is absurd
And seeing as that was the price two years ago, when this video was made, I'll bet it has gone up a lot since then.
$10,000? Yet the website says $13,900. Lol You're joking. You can buy a small camper with all the amenities (kitchen, bath, dinette) for that price.
I bought a 6x8 Runaway Rangerunner for HALF the initial cost of this gimmick and I have tons of options for mods (which I did). You cant do anything to this outside the showroom floor. I wouldnt pay more than $2,000 for this personally.
You could build one for 1/4 of the cost.
@@RockymountainRobert
You are probably right about that. But... *If* I had the space and tools (wielding being my biggest obstacle)...I'd definitely like to build my own. Buy a 2nd hand landscaping flatbed. Frame it out and build it to my specs.
That’s exactly what I just said to my husband. Very cool but waaaaay overpriced! $3,000 would be a lot!
I could build one for 1000 bucks, man. This is just a rip off.😂 Good idea though. There was a French company that made a proper sized caravan with a similar system.
I mean, an empty cargo trailer could cost around 5 to 10k brand new. I think it's major selling point is it's compact size
sorry I started to laugh at "affordable" box at 14k
The price is definitely a deal-killer for me, but other than that it's a great idea. All the people making negative comments are comparing apples with oranges. Sure, you can DIY something yourself for a lot less, and the things you're describing would also weigh several times what this does and take up at least 4 times the space. Could you DIY something EXACTLY like this? I strongly doubt it.
That would be awesome to have...for $1995!
Well, it IS a step up from a cardboard refrigerator box mounted on a wheeled handcart....📦🛒
Love the concept, but price seems high. Maybe $2,500.
It was new at the time. Maybe they will lower the price when they come to production?
Not sure if you watched whole vid.. They were working in a small shop. They are ordering parts as needed so there is really no volume in anything they are doing currently. It's going to be expensive for a while.
They should sell these in kit form. Getting more out in the same timeframe.73
I really don't see these costing that much to build it's highly marked up. They should not be more than 5,000 dollars
It's really cool at $1500 at 11k it's a joke.
Unfortunately, it probably cost them at least 1500 for material and 1500 for building it (labor). Marketing and other expenses 2000. They are charging like 5k premiums. To me, it's worth 5500 to 7500.
30% tariff fee on everything entering the country.... and the American companies raise their prices 40%.... $ 165 an hour for labor , for a man that makes $15 an hour.
@@dreamofstuff9125 Hero1n is a helluva drug. 💉
10 K ?
this guy is nuts!!!
The site shows the base model $13,900 & $14,900 for unit with A/C.
@@Wolfgang-the-Gray AC = Open back door!🤣
Imma make this out of 3 cardboard boxes and waterproofing paint, free boxes and whatever the spray costs.
Isn't that a coffin with a window? 😂
I don't see a window
Wow 10,000 you could buy a hiker trailer with all the amenities for less ! But still nice
True...I think this one can collapse down to 39 inches so that might be important to someone?
Different stokes for different folks....I like it
This one has a storage advantage.
@@licence1001011different strokes for different folks only works if someone buys it. I can almost guarantee that no one will buy it
I would buy it........
I bet towing it is a pain in the butt. Bouncing is definitely going to be a problem for something this small.
10,000 is way to expensive for something like this.
Very cool, but with all the other options out there I would say 10K is too much. I am not sure why this would cost more than 5K. I think American based companies need to work on profit margins for pricing. If you are new, start reasonable and then work your way up toward 300% margins.
lol… OK, so where’s the bathroom lol that’s what I need. I can sleep on the ground and cook on the side of the road but I need a bathroom
Use a shovel.
Oh, I have believe me. But in the middle of the night when there are bears prowling around. And you’ve gotten your tent ripped by a bear I would rather stay inside somewhere where I won’t get surprised by a bear. But if you like it, go for it.
I think starting price for this should be $3k they want to much then probably it won’t take off.
Oh yeah. I could see like $3-$4k...not $10k.
I found a 22ft Jayco, 2017, and it is very nice for 12k, this guy is smoking crack, sorry! You may as well just buy a truck with a cap and sleep in the back of your truck!
Exactly what I was thinking
this is the problem in U$, the fiat currency is so inflated that every damn thing costs an arm and a leg, it kills small businesses.
It is essentially a telescopic box!!!
$15,000. You gotta be nuckin futs
If it were more like 4 grand I'd be all over it
2 grand
How much?? I bought a campervan for half that price!
Should be priced at $1,500. It's like a big file cabinet. Ridulously overpriced.
Its neat and creative, but with those prices you could comfortably sleep in a hotel and save a lot.
Cute idea, but pricey.
That's insanely expensive for a flimsy piece of crap
Incredibly expensive for what it is. Looks like it would be very Hot inside.
14 thousand dollarz fuck that
There are trailers for bicycles that would work for a single person that are a whole lot cheaper and lighter AND can be towed by a bicycle!
$10,000 ? Someone’s smokin’ baloney ….. 😆
Like SERIOUSLY!!!
The price is unreal $13k-$15k shut the fuck up. You know how many nights in an airbnb that could get you?
A $30 tent from Walmart would be $9,970 cheaper and do the same job.
Yes I thought it was a little pricey. But I have two big dogs that I can't get in a Hotel room and my grandchildren live in another State. This is a great option for me to have a good night sleep when I am traveling to see them.
2000.00 dollars would be high priced.
Oh my goodness!
This is bigger than a capsule hotel in Japan!
I know right. How did you like those capsules in Japan?
Was this an April fools day special?
$12500? you can just buy a used RV for that.
No way I would pay $10,000 for that.....
And my hopes were dashed when the price was given. Dashed. Though I am confident this thing is the highest in quality and craftsmanship, I just can't afford it, though it is EXACTLY what I need.
get that thing into the low 5k range and you'll have a great product.
You can make something like that for less than $2000.00
Boxable sells you a small house for 50k, and you want to sell this for 10K...it is way over priced. The price should be 3K.
I agree below 3k even less than that not worth that price
@@foxykatsmukbangyour engineering & marketing degrees are in what?
@@artsteadman2230 Economics.
2k tops
Probabilities are high when these individual pieces start leaking...
Hahaha that price
Seems more niche than practical. If you can afford this, you can likely afford better equipped and a place to keep it.
Tent. $250.00
Could you imagine someone reversing their truck into your expanding camper, 😂
Great concept... bit to pricey for a box .
Aerodynamic, like pulling a brick through the air
For that cost.... Might as well get a small but bigger trailer.
$10,000 is about 8,000 to much.
Below this video on TH-cam is a video about a small camper that looks about the same size as the $10,000 one. It's called Runaway Camper Tour, for only $5,900. The video was posted 2 months ago. The channel is called Playing With Sticks. 😊👍👍👍 I'd say it's a real bargain!
This little contraption looks to be very unstable when driving down the highway, I’m not so sure I’d want to tow one of them, a disaster waiting to occur. Be careful, Ex- Truck driver here, so, I know a few things about stability.
Within 5 seconds of seeing it, that's the first thing that popped into my head.
Very clever design.Love it !
A memory foam mattress can be rolled up and tied to make it smaller.
Closed up, any other camping equipment would fit inside.
Packed tight, but doable.
A lot steep on the price, though.
Better to buy a used utility van and convert it into a mobile home. Trailers always suffer from the wiggle-waggle effect, which can destabilize the vehicle pulling it.
$13,900 are they nuts?
Way too expensive for honesty nothing. A car top tent for your Toyota Camry goes for $1,600. Great idea but $10k too high
"I'm not here to sell you a $1000 worth of stuff you don't want". MY ass. LOL. They would love nothing more than to cut a $50 hole and mount assembly and charge you an extra $600 for it.
They’re 12k on the website 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not in a million years
1,500.00 is almost too much 😂😢😮
Can’t even stand up in it. Way too pricey. Joke!
9500...wayyy too much 😢
Love the idea! Even love the product but if they can figure out how to get the price down that would be better. The convenience of not having to buy a bigger vehicle to pull it is also nice. Idk mixed feelings on it but I can say I do like the design.
Nice compact travel trailer But the base model is $13,900
Right, and you can get a used 24" camper for less than that from a dealership and close to half that private sale
@@brandonsmith3782 And then I would have to buy a Suburban to pull it.
I am not interested because of the price but not everyone wants a home on wheels. This would be fine for me to go with my daughter and her family. They have a large travel trailer and a nice truck to pull it with. I could go camping with them and we could do everything together and then i could go to this for sleeping. That way I am not intruding on them. Nor does it take a lot of space at the camp site.
But I agree, the price is too high for me.
Value proposition:
1. Small storage footprint/costs
2. Great for subarus, crossovers
3. Alternative to rooftop tent=more mpg, less weght on roof
Hopefully if they bring cost closer to premium roof top tents. It would be awesome to demo with an interior slideout kitchen.
I agree. A premium rooftop tent like ikamper is $4000. That would be doable.
I would like that without the trailer. Just the telescopic "box" to sit on my flatbed truck.
It's difficult to imagine this thing not leaking in floods. What's the sealing system? And is the seal a long term thing or will it degrade over time and need replacing?
I liked it until I heard $9,500.
That was two years ago. Their website wants $12k!!
@@RobertMarshall That's a healthy profit margin.
Great idea, but I'm thinking $6k range, not 12k.
Wow! There are options for everybody to RV and camp.
holds a queen size mattress...........so where do you store the "QUEEN SIZE" mattress?
Air mattress.
@@PhSyCo-B-oCh i've never used or would even consider using an air mattress, i built a teardrop in 2014 and never even considered using an air mattress. but that's just me
Floor is comfier, I’d just lay down a futon or blanket.
@@vapingcat9615 again, where do you put the futon and all your other "stuff" you normally take camping "grill, cooler, lights cooking utensils, food?. they promote this as a "telescopic camper" when the only benefit is you can store it in your garage against the back wall when the season is over. i built a teardrop back in 2014 from a HF trailer, 8ft long 4 ft wide that has a kitchen in the back, 2 100w solar panels on top with a 200 Amp hour battery, 12v fridge and a place in from that carries my Honda Ruckus and a Roof Rack Pull-Out Sun Shade\tent that i can set up in under 5 min. when i travel i have the tendency to drive till i drop and when im ready to fall asleep i pull over, getout walk back about 8 ft and climb in and fall asleep, the next morning when i wake up i go around back and make myself a cup of coffee with my Keurig pull the cream out of the 12 v fridge make a nice big thermos full of coffee and i'm on my way. i built this for ~$7000 and skinned it in aluminum and had polished so it reflects sunlight and doesn't turn it into an over on the inside. this telescopic camper costs almost $10,000 and comes with nothing. mt tear drop comes with everything you need to hook up to you car (i pull it with a Honda Element") and be on your way for a day, weekend, week, month, or months (I've slept in it for up to 6 months at a time and never had a bad night sleep with minimal setup) ive camped on Magnolia Beach in Texas for 2 weeks 15ft from the water....................for free!. there are videos about the place on youtube, look at what "free beach camping" get you
@@insonh21 I’m not reading allat but I’d fit the stuff I couldn’t fit inside the tiny camper, within the vehicle pulling it. I think that’s the obvious solution.
Need to shave off at least $4k
I could buy a new cargo trailer and have it modified for close to that price. Plus, I would not want to store my mattress in my vehicle or have an inflatable one. Definitely a clique thing.
It's a great concept but not for 13000
I thought this would be like 2/3000... Fxck that price
You always do a complete job investigating and presenting new concepts and products. Thank you for your excellent videos. You introduced me to HowerBuilt in 2019.
Thanks for watching
14 grand?.....Bahahahahaha GIVE...ME...A...BREAK!
Yikes! What a waste of money.
A small utility trailer would be better IMO
Need to come up side door entrance for old folks. We have bad knees and backs.other is a great product 👍.
It looks embarrassing. 😂
Lazyforest hitchhikers, you have no forest trees to build shelter.Yes,this is a compact design alternative for all those not wanting to lug around tent bags ❤😂🎉
Where is your mattress going to ride while in transit on top of your car or truck?? Or I guess you can blow up a air mattress. Lol
Just use a memory foam. I would build a foamie like this could do it for about 500
I can see a compact slide out kitchen come out from inside.
I can see it getting a 120° in here....
The price is outrageous.
The weight stays the same so why telescoping. Looks like fishtail design traveling down the road. Nearly impossible to back without jackknifing
Within 5 seconds of seeing it, that's what popped into my mind.
$12,000? Are you kidding me?
This would be neat to eliminate the axle and draw bar and mount it to the front deck of a car hauler trailer that you can tow a Jeep or racecar on and then when you're at the track or wheeling you can expand it for resting or camping.
Would like to see something metallic/secure that could concentine out from a Getz hatchback but also able to fit inside with hatch closed for around $500?
Pretty interesting definitely has multiple options
So, three grand to make it and nine grand profit? Nice business if you can get it. And what is "an installer network"? What is there to install?
10 Gs is ridiculous.... people who can afford a 10 thousand dollar trailer have room to store a real trailer or RV... 10 Gs for no ac and no matress... yay...
Yep, I know he hhas the right to charge what he wants, but the greed ruins it for folks that could really benefit from this....🫤
No water. I need water if I’m camping. Good idea, though!
How can anyone get excited about this? It is misnamed--not really a "travel trailer." It is nothing more than an enclosed fold up be on wheels. "We work out of a body shop" says it all. No thank you. Maybe it's someone's pipe dream, but there are much better ways to travel and camp. I have slept in the back of my station wagon years ago, I have slept in a tent in the mountains numerous times. I have owned a 20 foot dual axle true travel trailer which my growing family enjoyed for years. Then I sold the trailer and got a new tent and built a utility trailer when my children were grown. I would never spend thousands of dollars for a telescoping bed on wheels.
This thing is really, really cool. I'd like to get a better look at the one that slides into a 2" square hitch receiver, and without the added weight of wheels, suspension, axle etc..
Cool but for 2200.00 in aluminum I built my own.
Super difficult to tow....it will sway to easy
And bounce like crazy.
I would want an escape hatch so I don't get trapped inside by someone backing a car against the opening.
Or worse: backing into it so as to make it totally collapse accordion style...with you in it! Squish city!
Dude. What’s the damn profit margin on these damn things? They spent too much on R&d and dont expect to sell a lot or something. Just trying to get some money back quick. The price is dumb. You can get more and better for less
Wrong😅
Just sleep in the van.
EXactly, This is ridiculous, you'll bake in there with no AC or windows ALSO no way to leave anything in it, ridiculous to get in and out of ... no toilet, no sink, no fridge. Terrible idea.
Take out the seats and sleep in a car. This is ridiculous
