    In this video we are reviewing the PWRCore 20 Brushless 20v 1/2” Drill Driver Kit with the PWRJump Charger b y SKIL Powertools. This unit in the video was provided to me by SKIL in exchange for an honest review and feedback - so that’s what we did here. I put it through some basic tasks to see how long it would take to run down the battery and test the capabilities a bit. I also show off how the battery can charge other USB devices as well as the quickness of the PWRJump Battery Charger. Overall I really enjoyed it barring some minor issues, this drill is great. I encourage you to watch this video and let me know your feedback on other stuff I could try out for a part-2 in the future.
    They also make an Impact Driver but I have not tested that out yet - if it’s like this one though I think it would also be a great buy.

    Does it very in speed depending on how far the trigger is pressed?

    • @TheToughGuysTV

      Yes it does, if you only gently push down it will turn very slow actually. Great question!! I may have missed that in the review, so I appreciate you asking very much!! 💪🏻🙏🏻

      So far so good! I dropped one of the batteries on concrete really hard the other day, and barely a scratch. It feels great honestly! Only one time I had the chuck come a little loose when I was drilling a ton of holes, but my old Ridgid does that after basically ever use so... still doing 1,000x better. Not perfect, but very close in my opinion especially for the price on this thing! 👍🏻

    Can you compare this drill with another brand .. I mean SKIL vs. KOBALT for example or Makita

    • @TheToughGuysTV
      @TheToughGuysTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I personally don't own a few different brands, so it's difficult for me to provide you honest feedback in that regard. I have used Ridgid and Dewalt both extensively, although older models. I can comment directly on how I use the SKIL driver and impact driver, and both take a beating and keep after it. I've not had any major issues. I wish they both had built in bit storage, but I solved that with my BitMags th-cam.com/video/U4ajwmDX-nU/w-d-xo.html. The battery life has been consistently good, even with heavy use, hot or cold weather, always reliable. I recently tested out their outdoor lineup too, and so far same consistency in battery, ergonomics / weight, durability etc.

    My Bostitch drill and impact set got stolen a few months back (cant pick your family) got them at pawn shop for 60 bucks 5 years ago. Anyways I got this for my birthday recently brushed motor with the basic charger 20-volt. It does what I needed it to do I underestimated it a little bit. Had to replace six 8ft 5/4in pieces for a porch. Did good with deep deck screws drove 48 of them all nice and snug still had almost a full battery.

      Bought the newer version of this hammer drill last year. Strongest cordless I’ve ever owned. Motor doesn’t work hard on concrete or brick - chews right through. I’ve slowly begun replacing my DeWalt, Makita, and Craftsmen with this system as a result of my experience with the hammer drill.
      I have the 5ah battery. A real workhorse.

    A company Chevron or such bought the skill saw and skill name. A brought this line out. I hate it's not u.s. but feedback has been pretty good. Last year skilsaw was lower in quality then and had been. I had to replace a 20 plus year old circular saw and was disappointed. I went dewalt 60v and it's been great and u.s. made. That being said Milwaukee and dewalt seemed to take off away from makita etc. And skill was down with black and decker. I'd like to see them up there and see makita getting more love. Because competition benefits the user and buyer. I'm just disappointed the 77 wormdrive is considered the saw that built America but not made here... but glad to see the brand trying to come back. And so far most reviews seem good, maybe I can buy a 77 and have some hope or newer guys can buy a decent line at decent price. Its sad that i got batteries that cost more then the tools and you get locked in.

      @TheToughGuysTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Charles Herring with the batteries that’s how I’ve been locked in with Ridgid, and over time their stuff has fallen off for me. One problem after another.. with Skil I’ve been very happy with their stuff. Especially the driver and the orbital sander as well. Both have held up very well and I’m hard on my tools. Thanks for watching and for reaching out!

    The battery tech is shared with their pro line FLEX and EGO outdoor equipment...same maker ...I'm also impressed as I'd luv to get FLEX but budget just doesn't allow it. Maybe this year ( still be able to get lifetime warranty) if business goes well.

      @TheToughGuysTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I recently snagged a flex driver as well, been using it for a month or two, going to do a full review on it once I’ve known it a little better. So far, the only downside is the weight with the Flex tools. I realize that it probably equates to build quality BUT, the Skil line is light weight and always has been a power house for me, so I’m not totally sold that the heaviness must = build quality. Time will tell

    • @TheToughGuysTV
      @TheToughGuysTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s a tough question - I don’t have personal experience with Milwaukee or Makita in the recent past. I did when I was younger, but not in at least 7-8 years. What I’d say is this: pick your top 3 / top 5 needs and then check them off. For me, the Skil hits a few major points (the impact driver too just FYI) - Low Cost, Good Warranty, Good Power, Battery life is AMAZING, and Good LED light placement / brightness.

      No the Milwaukee and Makita are professional tools. These skills are definitely homeowner. If you have the budget a Makita and Milwaukee or higher end Hitachi(now metabo hpt or hikoki depending on country) those will all massively outperform and outlast these. A good way to tell if it's aiming for the pro market or homeowner is when they start coming with like 3+ amp hour batteries for drills. I like the 5 amp hour but if I'm doing only a few things here and there I take my 3 amp hour.

    btw if flashes like that because it stops the battery from overloading itself "If the tool and/or battery pack are overloaded, the LED worklight will rapidly flash" that's a quote from the safety manual.
    Edit: Also I know its been like 2-3 years so you probably know by now, But maybe people reading comments wanna know. The first 25% of the batter is charged at a faster pace then the last 75%, so you can throw it on the charger and get 25% batter in 5mins.
