A very peaceful place, lovely old chapel but we wondered what the barges are for when we went??

We recently walked from 8am leaving Burnham on Crouch st to St Peters Chapel and back to Burnham around 7pm with head torches, our phones said about 30 miles if correct, what a great walk, and hardly see anyone.

That's a trek. I've often thought of it but never done it. Most I've managed is half of one leg. You are right, hardly anyone about.

There has been a nuclear power station there since the 1960’s.

@@keithwelton yes there has I know it very well! It’s now decommissioned and covered in concrete a blot on the landscape, although now it has sort of become part of it.
The proposed plans for the new one is much bigger than the old one and will take up a lot more land area, encroaching on the othona community and saint cedds chapel.
Luckily recently having bumped into one of the farm managers at a dinner party, who has had alot of the testing done on his land, he informed me that the Chinese are being very quiet on the deal and said that he doesn’t think it’ll go ahead at all.

@@callumhardy5098 I don’t think the government will now allow the Chinese to have any input into U.K. nuclear power stations, see Sizewells proposed new station..

@@keithwelton yes I think that has something to do with it.

If the Government had any sense they wouldn’t allow the Chinese near any thing!
