    I remember the us open 08 incident
    I love roddick but he said that djokovic had like 16 injuries and he took that personally and I remember the crowd was booing djokovic in his post match interview when he brought it up, I think it kinda started to fuel some fire in him as he was clearly an underdog in that match.
    Otherwise a very cool rivalry!

    • @mshtennisyt

      Aaron Maher youre right, what i meant to say was djokovic was the underdog to the crowd (cause he was playing an american and wasnt nearly as popular as federer at that time). Djokovic is clearly the better player tho i agree

      Djokovic was and still is known in the circuit for faking or exaggerating injuries, so its no surprise Roddick got pissed off, and that incident is still one of the reasons novak is not so well liked in NY.

      It's not just that but Roddick is also American and America bombed our cities, our schools, our hospitals, television building, bridges, even market with full of civilians with cluster bombs back then in 1999. It's was personal for him too and he was younger and more hot head then it is now.. when he have family. He is mature and more calmer now which is normal. With the time you gain experience and become better person. I think Roddick and Djokovic now are in pretty good relations and they respect each other.

      100% a prime agassi and sampras will spank him. the problem with young players is they all play the same style and same shot mechanics. it’s all top spin grind from the baseline. thats not gonna work. they also like to kiss djokovic’s ass and lack the killer instinct like the OGs had. right now only nadal is the only player who can challenge him because of his style and killer instinct. i thought alcaraz would but he’s gone soft since wining wimbledon.

    Djokovic's return is so weak that Roddick took advantage of it. On the other hand, Roddick could not handle Agassi because his return is so strong and fast.

    • @munetoshiyamasaki7536
      @munetoshiyamasaki7536 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Avinash Anand Why? He has been always a weak returner. Karlovic and Roddick dominate him and they are the two best big servers in history of Tennis. That answers all.

    • @munetoshiyamasaki7536
      @munetoshiyamasaki7536 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Avinash Anand Why do you think Djokovic's return was weaker before 2011? His return skills haven't changed much since 2007. And he was 23, whereas Roddick was 27 to 28, out of prime. This is not like beating some young players before they came out to scene. The veteran beats No.3 players who was near prime in his career. Karlovic was whopping 35 years old
      when he beats Djokovic in Doha. He could not even dominate older players. And he has never beaten Karlovic in hard court. Karlovic made the most aces in history of Tennis than anyone else.
      If you cannot dominate the best server ever in history, he is not simply the best returner. That's why Kyrgios is disparaging Djokovic's return skills. He said "Murray could return my serve easily, but Djokovic couldn't". He said "If he cannot dominate me, he's not the best of all time. The best of all time goes to Roger Federer".
      The only big 4 who hasn't beaten Kyrgios is only him. This is due to his lack of return skills compared to other 3.

    • @munetoshiyamasaki7536
      @munetoshiyamasaki7536 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Avinash Anand You showed me head-to-heads records about the all-rounder vs the all-rounder. You must show me head-to-heads records about the big server vs the returner. Returning skill don't mean anything for players who both have average serves when you want to compare the abilities of return skills.
      Your argument proved me that you watched much less less Tennis than me. You need to study about Tennis or going to Tennis school.
      Kyrgios said "Roger Federer is the best of all time". He never said "Roger Federer is the greatest returner of all-time". He compared Murray's return to that of Djokovic and said "Murray's return is the best".

    • @munetoshiyamasaki7536

      ATP website says Murray and Nadal has been dominating top 2 spots in return percentage and winning return game. Thank you. You showed me the evidence that I'm right.

    • @munetoshiyamasaki7536
      @munetoshiyamasaki7536 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      OK. I was referring the old stastics. Murray and Nadal were top two, but Murray was injured
      and now Nadal became No.1. Nadal is the best returner today and he has never lost Isner and Karlovic in his entire career. Stastics do not lie. Thanks.
