    @greywolf9292 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I'm not keen on the front end looks of the 8S and it has some tough competition from the MT07 and the new Honda Hornet. Having said that the new V-Strom 800DE is a good step in the right direction by going for a more off- road capable set up. Whereas Honda disappointed a lot of people with the Trans-Alp, who expected it to be more off-road capable bike. Now if Honda were to release a 750cc Africa Twin, the bike most folk expected the Trans-Alp to be, that really would set the cat amongst the pigeons.

    • @MRTPR
      @MRTPR  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well put Mate, totally agree. A 750 Africa twin would certainly stir things up. 😎

  • @cloudmaker
    @cloudmaker ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That start was like an epic movie opener, fantastic. Yes big news indeed, new engine and chassis, and it's not electric either. They will keep the old models going as they introduce this new engine but ultimately sales will see a slimming down of the less popular models in a few years time. Not to mention the real shake up as governments try to kill off the internal combustion engine. It's a good time to bring out a new mid range bike anyway as in the UK more new riders are hitting the streets year on year and sales have been increasing too. That new bike is just about the right size for me as an older rider but I can't see me ever having a brand new bike again as I couldn't justify the expense, mind you I'm always on the lookout for a 0% deal! 👍😉so who knows. Thank you to Chris for helping this elderly....I mean experienced rider out with the filming. Ride safe all.

    • @MRTPR
      @MRTPR  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thankyou Mate, I always look forward to your comments. Yes it is nice to have such a young chap help me with the filming , particularly in my twilight years 🤣. I think that Suzuki is trying to sell what will keep them viable and the mid range parallel twins are what are selling like hot cakes at the moment. 😎

  • @HippoDrones
    @HippoDrones ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think it is sad that the v-twin engine is on the way out to be replaced by this engine. I get why they are doing it, but it is a shame that all bikes seem to be heading the parallel twin route these days.

    • @MRTPR
      @MRTPR  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree Mate, I just love the character of the V-twin. Everything is changing so quickly. In a few years time they will all be electric. I will miss the sound and the gear changing. 😎

    • @HippoDrones
      @HippoDrones ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MRTPR we can still keep our petrol bikes come 2035, we'll just not be able to buy new ones... I wonder if there will be some bargains to be had in the run up to then, or if the prices will go up?

    • @MRTPR
      @MRTPR  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HippoDrones yes I am pleased that there is a long transition, makes sense. Australia is not ready for electric vehicles, we are so far behind the rest of the world , we just don't have enough infrastructure in place as yet. Not sure if prices will go up or down, will be interesting. I must say I am a little surprised we have not seen any electric bikes from the big four Japanese manufactures as yet . I am sure they must be working on them.

    Hello.
    The SV650's 90-degree V-twin, which has no balancer to dampen vibrations and has very little crank twist, has a more natural engine response to throttle operation than the parallel twin.
    In addition to the feeling of the engine itself, the movement around the front is light, and the steering angle in the first half of cornering is easy to understand. It is a point. As with the throttle response, this is not only affected by the engine type, but also by the body size and weight distribution, but the movement of the SV650 when trying to turn from a straight line is better than other parallel twin machines. remarkably light. Moreover, while it is agile, there is no movement that will make the rider nervous.
    safety and health. and peace.
    Thank you my friend.

    Sat on both the new Suzuki bikes at our Motorcycle Live. Preferred the V Strom with the new parallel twin engine. Honestly the GSXS-8S didn't do it for me and I much prefered the new Honda Hornet which has 90bhp and better styling in my eyes.
    Still nice to see Suzuki bring out something new.

    • @MRTPR
      @MRTPR  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They won't be here in Australia till next year. The new hornet will be hard to beat. The Suzuki, although it has less horsepower has more torque and reaches it's peak earlier (so I believe) I may be wrong. I really want to see them in the flesh and I would love to ride both. Not sure about the look of the Suzuki, certainly a bold new look. Thank you for your input Mate, I really appreciate it.

    Interesting news. I enjoyed your channel intro trailer too. That was really attention getting.
    We have a couple C-50's and I've had the Burgman 650 (Half a Busa) and enjoy Suzuki's. My brother is dedicated to them (in his veins as you say).
    My problem is I'm addicted to bikes, have limited storage, thus rotate a lot. Currently on my 34th which seems about half of what many real enthusiasts have. 😂
    Real upscale I might add....having your own camera man!!!!!

    I liked the drone intro and outro , well done. The spec sound good, pity about only a 14l fuel tank, that's a tad small, in my opinion. I heard the Aprilla Taureg won bike of the year for 2022, also a nice adventure bike. Good to hear Suzuki are mixing it up. Ride well. Cheers

    I feel like a few motorcycle brands have mixed things up recently. Harley Davidson with an adv bike, Sinnis are doing some good things for Chinese bikes and Royal Enfield are creating a market space that no one knew they even wanted.
    Suzuki can definitely do more and take more risks

    • @MRTPR
      @MRTPR  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Mate, I really am disappointed that that they have dropped out of the moto GP and the GSX R 1000. I think they are just trying to produce what will keep them viable. There are so many more parallel twin mid range bikes out on the road these days. In South Australia, you rarely see the big faired sport bike's on the road anymore. You see plenty of the MTO7's though. Makes economic sense I suppose. Thank you for dropping by Mate.

    The off road model sounds good. The 82hp could be a winner for them but there are plenty of parallel twins out there now with the 270* throw crank. So Suzuki lagging behind as usual. I hope they sell plenty because they are struggling at he moment and, as you probably know, have withdrawn from MotoGP.

    • @MRTPR
      @MRTPR  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am very disappointed that they have withdrawn from the MotoGP , they were doing so well. They have lagged behind , you are right as there are plenty of parallel 270 degree crank bikes out there. Lets hope they keep surprising us and bring more new bikes out. They GSX -S 1000 GT has sold out here in Australia, a great well sorted bike, but a revamped old bike. 😎
